Quite good as a beginning chapter! But, as a GM of 40 years experience, I will remind you that a) a character with unlimited power means that the opponents ALSO need unlimited power and b) the old phrase "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely." is a truth.

Power is one thing, imagination is another. I know of several *handheld* science fiction weapons that should not be used on the surface of a planet you want to be livable afterward. Example- the starbreaker in Stephen Baxter’s Xeelee Cycle books. I have some knowledge of physics (yeah, alchemy as used in the story) and have imagined a few on my own… Point of interest- if a player under duress tore a strip of Cloth Of Healing and stuck it into a bottle of oil, lit the cloth, and threw it at an enemy, would you allow it? The Molotov cocktail is not a standard D&D weapon but it’s stupidly obvious to a modern mind, and there’s no reason it shouldn’t work in a world with magic. I have always and will always dispute the nostrum about power corrupting. Positions of power attract the corruptible.
