The whole “it’s never too late to do something you want to do” speech was destined to hit me hard, because I’ve been considering going back to school. I already have my dream job without a degree, but I feel like there’s so much I could learn from college that would be so helpful in my job (I’m a zookeeper without a degree, a truly rare breed). I also miss learning, so, while I’ve been scared, I’ve been taking the first steps to going back. This really makes me feel like I can! Thanks Megan ❤

This comment touched me. Thank you for sharing it with us. It reassured me that I did the right thing. I recently signed up to go back to school for a master, and I have had my orientation week in university this past week. It's honestly never too late to learn, or to make life changing decisions. Every day you have the opportunity to change your life's path. We're constantly evolving. It's nerve-wracking since it's been a while since my college degree. I'm starting all over again, it feels. I've got no idea what awaitens me. But there is a beauty in this unknown. I am grateful to myself that I took the risk, that I followed this spark that let me to this very moment. This is my way of setting my future self up for success, and of showing up for myself every single day by giving me the opportunity to gain more knowledge and insight in that what interests me. If there's a small part of you that wonders, that longs to know more about your passion... Go for it. If it keeps wandering in your mind, it means this is something you really care about. It is worth pursuing your dreams. Also, you can be incredibly proud of yourself for landing not only such a good job without a degree, but also a job that matches your soul. Not everyone finds their dream job. That's amazing and something to cherish. On a practical note: if you found your dream job, maybe the dream scenario could be that you work part time and study part time? I have met people who do this, or follow evening classes to be able to combine studies and work. Or you can take a break, study full time and come back when you feel ready. There's no wrong way. Just keep holding onto your passions, that what fills your heart with purpose. Whatever path that leads you to. Sending you lots of good vibes!

“If you’re teaching something, you gotta wanna help” OH MY GOD THAT SPOKE TO ME. I grew up doing ballet and luckily had the best teacher in the world who is like a second mom to me but when I went to annual conference workshops I got the same horrible vibes from the teachers like they just wanted to show off. Why are people like that?! I always felt like dancers outside of my dance family were so snobby and it was not helpful in progressing my abilities. We were definitely not there for the same reasons and it was such a bummer. So I feel your anxiety and majorly applaud you for going through with it. It can be the worst feeling when you are the odd one out but makes for some good laughs. Glad you got what you needed from Mika to feel confident and beautiful 😊

Had to exact same experience and was actually not able to find a ballet course where I feel comfortable since leaving my home towns dance family. I guess most ballet teachers are just rude haha 😅

I’ve always wanted to try hip hop and have always felt it’s too late for me. Even in high school and college I felt this way, struggling to join classes and find groups of people my age who were beginners to learn with. Girl, so proud of you! From my understanding (through movies, lol) professional ballet teachers are technical and rough. Watch Center Stage, great movie! I took two semesters of dance around 29 and 31. Everyone was younger than me and the teachers favored the seasoned dancers more than the just for fun students. Keep up the self discovery! I'll be 41 in 8 days. Never too late! It's all about perspective. My goal was to be a surfer. I made a few attempts in my teens and twenties, but put myself last. Cut to 20+ yrs later, and I just got back from a 3 day surf trip. 🙌🌊 So happy you found a private teacher! Her approach is beautiful! 🥰

I started trying ballet when i was in college. In my class there was a lady who was in her late 50s who had just started ballet 2 years ago. She talked about how when she was kid she was told that ballet was not for her and she shouldnt do it so she never did. Now in her 50s she is learning to live for herself and started taking the dance class she always wanted to. And she did not care if her form wasnt perfect or what she looked like because she was having so much fun and doing what she wanted to do. It was one of the most beautiful experiences ever! Also side note…If you are looking for soft dance, try hula. I have been dancing hula since i was a little and love it so much.

Im 28 and 2 days ago i took a beginner ballet dance class. I used to religiously train in ballet for 7 years then went into other styles and stopped all together because life and school. I have never had the “dancer body” and still dont but i went anyways and was hard on myself for not being as flexible or strong as i was when i was younger but im going to keep going because why not. Life’s too short to not enjoy things that you want to do even if you have to start over mentally and physically.

I started ballet as an adult beginner 2 years ago, with no dance experience except a little bit of ballet as a 5 year old and a lifetime of being told this “funny” story about how I have two left feet and the teacher told my grandparents to withdraw me from classes because I was bad. I started anyway during the pandemic on zoom, and have danced consistently since, and a few weeks ago I started pointe. Ballet is humbling but so worth it.
