This show is the only adults turned kids trope I'll tolerate. It was incredibly entertaining. It was also the first time in years fred and velma were used in the scooby franchise, and they were by far the two best characters of the show

I was born in 2003, so I remember watching this show on Cartoon Network in 2007-2008 (perhaps it was on in 2009, I don’t know it’s been years 😂) and I enjoyed it 😊. I wish they could do a revival of this show, but with Frank Welker and Matthew Lillard as Shaggy and Scooby (though I wonder who would voice Freddy since Carl Steven died years ago 🤔).

I actually really like this iteration. It's one of the only cartoons where the adults are younger and it actually worked. The characters feel far more expressive and adorable, the running jokes are decent enough to get a good laugh at times, and I just love how in every episode, Fred puts the blame on this kid literally named red herring, only for him to be right in one episode where Fred is forced not to blame red herring. I also love how whenever Fred blames red, the other characters or even red himself have to tell Freddy that red did nothing wrong in the episode, from calling Freddy from outta town while on vacation, to sending him a letter all the way to a mountain, to teleporting in after messing around with a device, to even the Characters reminding him that red herring isn't even in the episode. And speaking of Fred, while he's no wild card of interests who loves traps, here, he was definitely an upgrade to the white bread adult Fred we had for a while, but will still never be as funny as Fred cussing out the audience because they asked him why he has an ascot.

As someone else that liked this show, I think "Be Cool" is very much the modern version of it only with the kids being there usual ages. Once you get past (and possibly get used to) the new designs it really works and is (IMO) the best modern take on the formula. Also, I remember seeing the clip from the SCOOB! movie with the gang meeting as kids and thinking that could possibly have led into a new take on the gang as kids...which it seems like would have happened at least once with "Holiday Haunt" but..

This version of Scooby Doo did justice to all the characters. Scooby has more of a personality than just being a dog who's scared of everything and eating non stop. Shaggy is somehow even funnier in this iteration than he was in the 70's. Daphne got a massive upgrade in terms of character and isn't a supreme dumbass like many other versions of Daphne, in this one she's really smart. Velma is just so charming and adorable she puts literally every other Velma to shame since she's really likeable in this one, whereas the others she's either boring, or at least a tad unlikeable. And of course, Fred is awesome, he's definitely the funniest part of A Pup named Scooby-Doo.

I never realized just how much this show played with the usual scooby doo formula as a kid.

The theme song and outro absolutely bangers. Amazing stories and hilarious. Also super sad that this isn't streaming somewhere.

The way you pronouced Casey Kasem's name made me shudder like I do when Fred says "TRAY-sure" in the original series. Love the show!!

I love this show then and I love this show now! Although the final season was lackluster, I remember the pure joy I had when I discovered there were newer episodes I had not seen back then. And big thanks for the heads up on that puppet styled special. Fortunately it is streaming so I'm Going to check it out

I grew up watching this whole series, had it all on DVD in a big ol collectors set. I fell asleep watching this show for about 5 years, every night. I don't know why but this is what put me to bed. Thanks for blessing me this Christmas with this gem of nostalgia!

I really enjoy watching the kid version of Scooby-Doo when I was young and now as an adult. Rest in peace Kid Freddy's voice actor, Carl Stevens (1974--2011). You will be missed. 🙏💙❤💖

I loved this version of scooby doo growing up, I wish you covered a few of the episodes though cuz I remember a lot of them. Cuz each of them had a theme to them . I remember an episode where they covered the topic of drug abuse and use with the headless skater.

One of my favorite memories are the days where I didn’t have to go to school, it’s being 8am and watching Baby Looney Tunes followed by A Pup Named Scooby-Doo on Cartoon Network then they’d play one of the movies (ie Witch’s Ghost). Excellent Video!

When I was in middle school, this show was running. Every morning, without fail, Pup Named Scooby Doo would come on and finish its opening song just as our school bus rolled up outside my house. It always brings me back to that and it’s wonderful

Yes. This was is my favorite incarnation of the cowardly Great Dane. The self awareness and poking fun at the Scooby-Doo tropes was a delight. Though, no surprise since it was produced by Tom Ruegger. I wasn't a big fan of Daphne's spoiled rich personality in this show, but it didn't do too much to rub me the wrong way. There was also a lot of creativity put in these monsters.
