Good looking knives, good materials on the budget side and M390 is a good choice for the premium. Someone posted 62 to 64 HRC for the M390 which is in the optimal range. Good video Jerad. Thanks

Who posted that, cause they had always done m390 poorly. In fact after they tested poorly I told real steel flat out don't use m390 until you can do it right and provided them the tests that showed them doing bad. They pretty much stopped using it for the most part.

My RSK Megalodon Titanium has M390 at 61HRC. I love the knife. I love the looks and size of Avangard very much, I almost already bought it but wanted to see some reviews first. But there were none for weeks, I don't get it, you are probably the first (and luckily my favorite 😎) reviewer to check it 👍

TheAvangard is actually Ivan's Custom knife that he makes and I'm not sure but maybe due to the current situation over there , he decided to do it with Real Steel. surprisingly tho , he did not do it under the Arkona name ...

I got a micarta and d2 gslip from real steel, for under 50$ it has been a pretty cool knife. Would recommend if you dont mind having a more modern lightweight slipjoint. Yeah I love that last one. Micarta has grown on me in the last year or so.

Hey Jared, WMK lists 62-64 hrc in the specs of the Avangard. If true it should have great performance. Shockingly good hardness range!

My Avangard inlays fell off and the detent ball fell out. I fixed it but still. All t6s too...even the pivot....not t8s. The flipping action is terrific. I'll give it that.

The Avangard is a great looking knife! I personally don't like frame lock knives because the are not symmetrical from one side to the other.

I know their Luna in m390 was at 61hrc which is pretty good. Who knows how it performes but zt least numbers wise it better than average.

what kind of gas station has all these knife fights going on? is it like at an abandoned gas station where all the tacticool mall ninjas go to beat each other over the head with Cold Steels, or is this like a regular place where most folks just pay at the pump and leave, or drive on past to the next one when they see that the knife fighters are at it again?

No shade brother, but Huginn is pronounced like "HUE-gin"" and Muninn is pronounced like "MYOO-nin" They're from Norse mythology. I didn't know the Pathfinder came in anything but a scandi. That was the reason I hadnt picked one up. Great vid!

I appreciate when people tell me if I’m saying something wrong. T.C. from SMKW always pronounced Reate as Re-ate(8). When challenged about it, he said no one from the company ever said he was not saying it right. So stupid of me but I emailed Reate and a nice lady said yeah it’s Re-ahht (short A) not Re-ate (long A).
