You're basically me, down to the age, veteran status, the beard and the feelings about classic Linkin Park. I liked their old stuff but they blew up after I'd established my musical foundations they were on the outskirts of my taste at the time. Having said all of that, I LOVE Emily in this role and man, this song has been stuck in my head all week. They 100% sound like Linkin Park and I'm so looking forward this next era of the band. I also pre-ordered the vinyl today and I've never bought an album from them before.

I love this so much, it's a rekindling of a great band, a new chapter... they might not have Chester singing but his spirit is still very much alive, seeing they sound like liinkin park. I got deeply emotional thinking about the days when their music first connected with me all those years ago. If I remember correctly, Mike said in an interview that this particular song was written and recorded by him initially but he was not happy with it. After many sessions with Emily, he had her record the second verse and chorus and said it just clicked. I assume they probably tweaked it a little to better fit her voice but don't believe they changed any lyrics, at least he didn't mention it. The rest of the new album, he said she and colin helped in the creative process along with the rest of the members. Just how much influence they had or how many of the songs they touched, I have not heard any details about. Can't wait to hear it though.

As Linkin Park fan I can hear Chester thgough her voice shes perfect fit as female vocal very smart choice, if they had male vocal people would start comparing with Chester, witch his not replaceable unique voice.

The interesting thing about this is that they have 2 lead vocalists arguably, and Mike is still here and has arguably stepped into even more of a lead role in many ways. Like at their live shows there were many songs that Mike took lead on vocally that Chester used to lead.

You are an old guy, like me... I am 61 and my kids turned me onto linkin park back in the day. I equate this to when we lost Bon Scott from AC/DC a long time ago. They made the choice to continue on and found the perfect fit in Brian, and I really like this choice. We never forget Chester, ever, but I like the band going on, creating the music I love, with the same name. I feel Chester would be proud, just as I feel Bon is proud of where the band went after him. I never listened to Dead Sara, but I am now.... and I will buy this album on day one.

I didn't like a whole lot of the Linkin Park of yesteryear. I liked a few songs here or there, but not enough to buy an album. This? They didn't miss. I'm buying the album, out of respect. I've loved Emily since Weatherman dropped with Dead Sara, and I'm overjoyed that she has ascended like this. I liked and subscribed because of this video.

This song is so Linkin Park-ish, for my taste a little too much. But the good news is, she fits in. There is no need for Emily to try to be Chester. Is interesting to see how over the time they change their music to integrate her voice even better. All the other stuff what we can read or listen recently about Emily is heavily exaggerated.

William Duvall sounds very little like Layne did. For the next couple albums after Layne died, Cantrell took over the majority of lead vocals while Duvall did a lot of the harmonies. Cantrell was the main songwriter and most of the song structures came from Cantrell, the classic AIC harmony sound, but Layne's voice was magic and contributed the icing to the cake.

I like Emily's voice, and I think she fits in too. This was the opening song in the 1 hour live stream concert they did on the 5th. This video released after the show. The rest of the set was older songs. She did have some off moments, Mike said an one of the interviews(on Q101 Chicago), that she was getting emotional, and starting to cry while singing, he felt similarly at that point. Another interview is up on the band's page, almost an hour, with the entire band. They are not trying to replace Chester, no one can do that. They added a singer and are moving forward. New drummer too, Colin Brittan, Rob had chosen to step away from the band. Brad is still in the band , but isn't playing live on stage, Alex Feder is filling in on guitar. Currently on a 6 city world tour, and are supposed to be on the road a lot next year. New album will be called "From Zero", scheduled for Nov 15. Name is a double entendre with this being a new start and the original band name being Xero. Thought I had seen your reaction in my notification list when I got home from work last evening, but when I went back to click on it, it wasn't listed anymore. Went to your channel, and nothing there either. Figured it got blocked. Found it this morning, and video says it was posted 1 day ago, with comments from yesterday. Yt playing games again??

Well, the video had a rocky post process. LOL Though other reactors blame KZbin, I blame the licensing companies. YT is just covering their butts. There is a lot of money exchanging hands and I am sure one of those licensing lawyers would LOVE to see YT take one small step outside the requirements of whatever legal boundaries they have in place.

Yeah she works well with the band. I just wish the songs had a positive message these days. I am old and there is so much negative in the world right now a song offering even a glimpse of hope would be refreshing. But that is just my little opinion

This is how I see it: If this was a new band that we knew nothing about: she is really good and the song is good, but they wouldn't become one of the biggest acts in the world. But the truth is LP with Chester wasn't reaching that level either. They exploded with their first 2 albums (that we all heard), and the rest must have 1/5 or a 1/10 of spins in Spotify. So will they reach their peak again? most likely no, but it is an unfair expectation. They are a good band as it is, let them enjoy what they do and stop comparing them to a version of the band that they couldn't even reach when they had Chester at the front.
