Railbound Part 5 - as if three train cars wasn't enough, I must now deal with four cars at once! Combine that with larger puzzles and every mechanic at once, and we've got an exciting doozy ahead of us. Luckily, this is around the time I actually get a feel into the designer's mind for some of these puzzles.

**VIDEO SPOILERS BELOW** Railbound review, starting with what I liked: - The overall difficulty curve of these puzzles was excellent. The main track had a fair and easy difficulty (except for the final world), allowing the players to get familiar with the new mechanics, and the challenge levels lived up to their expectation. Despite my initial impressions, I was happy with the level of challenge eventually reached. - Many of the mechanics lead to unique and interesting solutions that didn't involve brute force. These were the tunnels, gates, stations, and zombie cars. The zombie cars in particular were incredibly fun to work out. - The graphics were perfect for a puzzle game. - There's more puzzles and mechanics still to come! What I didn't like: - Most puzzles with 3+ button-activated switch tracks, regardless of whether the button was on the switch track itself or on another piece, were uncomfortable to logic your way through. The closest I got to fully using logic was testing out a random combination of tracks and adapting from there, and even that got tedious. Most of the time, it was much more reasonable to use trial and error than to come up with a tangible idea. As the game went on, I felt I was getting better at trial and error rather than getting better at switch track puzzles. - Too many puzzles could be solved by placing the exact number of tracks allowed in their most obvious positions, then adjusting the arrows until something worked. It was a cool strategy at first, but wore off quickly. - The bonus levels in world 8 being sandbox-y was disappointing. I wish you could've unlocked a full-fledged sandbox with place-able parts instead. - Alternative idea to replace the sandbox-y levels: levels where you can place down parts that aren't just regular tracks, such as tunnels or switch tracks with buttons. Using those to solve puzzles could reward creativity and would also feel more sandbox-y, but in a fun way like Poly Bridge. Overall Rating: 7/10 (Very Good)

I was kinda hoping that the World 8 challenge levels would have some sort of secret code with the leftover tracks. Since there were 8 challenge levels and 8 worlds maybe they could have tied that together, like you would see a hidden number in the end postcard?

Yeah, great puzzle game, but it had a similar problem to another one I've played called Causality, where you have very little control over what the game pieces do and they just kind of chaotically butterfly-effect-ripple tiny changes into massive consequences. It feels like a kind of puzzle game that might be thinky to aliens who can see in 4D rather than to us.

The final world looks so sinister with the darker pallete. But the bonus level was a bit disappointing that its just sandbox. Sandbox could've been just another mode (like a Level editor) instead of tucked away hidden behind the hardest difficulty.

You should play a game called Noita, it was made by the same developers as Baba is You except it's not a puzzle game but a rogue-like and magic game. There are puzzles in the game but most of them are really vague and basically impossible to do without the wiki. It's a game where you spawn as a mage and have to go deeper in a cave with multiple levels and bosses. There is a lot of secrets and the game encourages you to explore the game to get better wands, traits and spells. Each wand is different, for example spells and stats. As you gather better spells and wands, you can make synergies to make the ultimate wand. Learning the game is a lot of trial and error but it's certainly fun. What separates this game from others of it's genre is that every pixel is simulated, you can destroy pretty much everything and pretty much everything can destroy you. There is no time limit in the game so you can explore to your hearts content. Again the game is a lot of trial and error but is super fun to play. I doubt that it will fit the channel although you could stream it if you want. The game is very fun overall but i do suggest watching a video about it to see if you like it and/or if it fits the channel.

I am surprised there wasn't a mechanic of a 4-way track, like all the switch/turns were 3-way but also compared to cosmic express it does seem more like "get the required connecting tracks in and just click turns until it works" and there is a bit of waiting for things to just work out.. like if I tried playing this so many levels I'd quit prematurely since a train car would loop a few times and I'd assume it was stuck.. And those bonus levels were weird, did they think people would overcomplicate it? Other fun idea is since the world is night themed, there are invisible mechanics like imagine you magically can't place a track somewhere and it's a tunnel that pops out elsewhere on the map.. or is that mean? Maybe invisible until uncovered? I find it hilarious you ignored the switch tracks for the most of the bonus levels though.. them being meant to relax you was confusing af since it's the last main world, so you expect just more challenges like the past 7 worlds of bonus challenges.. and if they were to do sandbox I'd think they'd do "hey here is bonus sandbox world" and not "we got lazy for the last world.. eh fuck it do whatever"

In fact, I didn't think at first that the branch level in chapter 8 would be so simple. It's so simple that the organs that are placed are like a display. (So much so that I'm watching When I was in the Chinese version of the transplant in China, there was a sentence on the way to watching the video. Is this level design sick? Anyway, for me, this kind of semi-yarn level with almost no design. It is quite fun, it is this kind of semi-sandbox, after all, it is not a sandbox level. This has to be said, for me, a player who likes railway games, it is undoubtedly a pity.
