Hey Solar Flair, I just want you to take a look of what this video has done to the Destiny community, espically the D1 players. You've brought us back together to talk about the good old days and how much we miss them. Thank you so much for making this video, I can't even count how many different times I've came back to this video and haven't seen another great story about someone experienceing the glory days of Destiny 1. Destiny had done a lot to me throughout my middle and high school career and thank you for bringing those memories back of waiting until 4:30 in the morning on Friday night to see what xur has brought us for the weekend to come. I just wish we could go back in time to experience D1 again and relive one of the most positive fan bases/communities of all time. Thank you Bungie for making these memories happen and Thank you Solar Flair for helping me relive the these memories for the countless time. I know not many people will see this, but for the ones that do hats off to you guardians.

"I'm not crying, you are!" But, for real. This game, has been a really really, really good experience in my life. I don't regret a single second I spent in it. This game also helped me get over my biggest fear, which is death. No, I don't think I will ever hear Tinkerbell resurrecting me, but it helped me see death as just another part of our lives. And even if we die, we have to fight for our future, and for those who come after us. It as well helped me overcome the fear, share it with others, and socialize with so many people around the globe. The fear is now gone. Some of those friends were left behind, some still remain as my friends, very good friends. Overall, Destiny, has become part of my life. Of my own destiny. Thanks Bungie, thanks community, and thanks universe for giving me the chance to be born in such a beautiful moment. The world may be falling apart. United, we can save our planet, the only planet we live. As well as our guardians defend the last city on Earth. I have a further story in The Relaxing End video, and my instagram is "@nekobell_" if any of you want to see the whole time line of my destiny experience. Be safe out there fellow guardians.

I had a small fireteam. 5 man team. With time the fireteam gradually started shrinking. We lost one of our warlocks, we lost our hunter, then our titan. Eventually it was just two warlocks left. Myself and someone else, then he left and it was just me grinding strikes alone. Then all the boys returned for one last raid, kings fall. I'll never forget finishing my last raid.

Hi guys, yesterday me and my old team finished King’s fall again and we all started crying. We passed all the night remembering those beautiful moments. Destiny was more than a game, destiny was something else. I started playing when I was 17 and now I’m 23 ( approximately my teammates are now 22 yo). I’m crying so loud since we all 5 went to the marriage of the clan’s founder and what could I say... the best day of my life. My older brother, my twin and I all shared a account. I was always the titan, my older brother (Jackson) was always the hunter, my twin (Joren) was always the warlock. My first memory was the first night we ever played. My dad decided to join us, and make the first character with us. We all decided on warlock because we thought he looked the coolest. We completed the first mission easily, laughing so hard when our dad couldn't hit the shots. Then the second mission came, with the first ever darkness zone. We were awake for 30 more minutes, laughing so hard every time my dad died (he was laughing with us) before he sent us to bed. We woke up the next morning and asked our dad if he played any more. He said that he tried 15 times before finally going to sleep. That made us laugh a lot. Then Jackson made a character (hunter) and completed it first go. That made us laugh even more, and our dad in shock how he completed it so easily. Jackson did lots of raids, trails, the kind of stuff that I wasn't allowed to do with him because I wasnt good enough, and old enough. Now, 6 years later I do trails with Joren (my twin) and Jackson is in college. I remember how we would all sit around Jackson's ipad, watching clueless gaurdians laughing our asses off at the funny moments. I remember all of cayde's jokes, how we would laugh at them every time. I never truly realized how much memories I was making, how much fun I was having, until d2 came out and we started playing that. But I still haven't done a single raid. Not one. Because I promised myself that the first raid I would ever do would be the vault of glass. Just like Jackson. Thank you for bringing back these good memories. And thank you guardians, for creating a experience like none other.

When my dad bought me Destiny i was 8, i remember he initially tried to play to teach me but then i took the control over the ps4 hehe, i remember at that time i still didnt have a phone but i remember pretty well that since i bought that game both my cousins got Destiny, firstly the cousin of my same age which actually will graduate w me next year and i brought him from xbox 360 to ps4 while another one who was his brother is older 2/3 years than us but we all arraged to play together, i can say Destiny made me laugh, cry, hope, hate and a lot of other things, i can't get out my head the fact that we always played trials, we were so keen at doing it, in fact both of them reached the lighthouse and i never did, i didn't have a phone as i said and so i couldnt find a fireteam by myself, plus i was little and i didn't understand which were the top weapons even tho by the time i just was able to recognize them, however it's stuck in my head, all the raids, all the fails, all the laughs the disappointments, the jokes or insults for getting ones fav exotic which one of us didn't have, man, that's enough to make a grow man cry, i can say i don't usually cry, today my aunt died too and somehow i didn't cry but these things make me cry, because i realize that what we didnt won't ever come back and theres no way even if destiny 1 would come back it would be the same again, however that's the part of being a kid, and all of us have to get thru that.

The guy who helped me through my first D1 raid/trials and was a totally awesome guy passed away. We had played alot together, and he was really obsessed with WWE and had always wanted to be a wrestler, but had some cognitive disease that basically slowly took him while he lost the use of his body, and I had purposefully blocked the memories of him out of my mind because I never really got over it. He was like 15 years older than me and seemed like an older bro, and man I tell you what I sat and cried when I booted up D2 and his name was listed as one of the guys who completed the raid with me, and made the journey to the lighthouse with me. I almost didn't bug starting the game, it was nice seeing him up there almost like he was still around. Edit: "When all is lost, you will still be a Guardian, and you will still be enough" all of the post about him still having the light of the traveler were awesome, and I really appreciate everyone's kind words.

I used my bubble to give shields and defend against a barrage of fire that was coming from the hive knights at the top of the towers. Crota wasnt in the top middle of the map he was on the right guarding the sword. The hunter went invisible when going to grab the sword and I remember telling everyone to fire just as crota turned to the hunter who finally left invisibility. We kept hitting him down with the g horn till he was dead and took care of the sky ball he summoned. When we all got the achievement of flawless raider I then proceeded to kill myself saying I can finally die.

Owen Prichard 2014 was the last year before things really kicked into insanity across the world. After that, the planet exploded with the rise of bitter politics, SJWs growing more fervent which then fed the far right, which looped in an endless cycle, and so on; we began to really fight each other, hate each other. The world economy is tiptoeing along. The climate is largely in focus now, with massive protests and extreme weather events. Riots in the streets. Racial tensions. Trade wars. Nations inching towards conflict. Those things were there, sure, but 2014 was that final bastion before the floodgates opened and the world's miseries came crashing down.

@Shekel Master69 oh, fuckin' please. You only think that because of nostalgia and/or you like to whine about everything new, then look back at it years later and say it was good. Destiny was average at best (in the eyes of the gaming community) when it first came out. If anything, 2013-15 was a pretty bad year for gaming, with franchises like CoD going on a downward spiral (once again, in the eyes of the gaming community), Nintendo's Wii U selling pretty bad, the launch of the Xbox one destroying Microsoft's fabbase and having many people move to PS4, and quite a few big budget games being forgotten in an instant. 2017-19 though? Nintendo is back on the rise with some awesome games, the Xbox has gotten pretty great now with game pass and surprisingly great exclusives, a lot of franchises have been revived or remastered, like crash bandacoot and DOOM, and the next generations of games and consoles is coming out very soon. I really do hope that people with your kind of attitude towards games realize how great gaming actually is right now instead of shitting on anything that's new and praising the stuff that was hated back then. It's a really unhealthy thing for the Industry, because the developers with good games get beaten up for no reason. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Cyberpunk 2077 is seen as "shit" by the community when it comes out because of people like you. Alright, I got a little riled up there, not gonna lie. Sorry about that, I just get really pissed off at how taken for granted gaming is. I'm just gonna stop myself now.

I tried to get back into it but just couldn't. 2014 Raiding with the group, waiting for Chris to milk his goat (not a pun) so we could smash Warpriest. Late to the party but I used to play destiny 1 on a different profile on ps3. I had no mic and I was too poor to afford one or any other attachments, I finally saved up enough to buy the taken king about a month after release, it was the most fun gaming experience I ever had. I was disappointed when I got to Kings fall because I had no idea what I was doing, a random guy carried me through it on LFG several times despite me not having a mic. A few months later I was able to get a job and everyone in my family was much more stable, so I traded in my ps3 for my ps4. The sad thing was I forgot my ps3 account log in, and the friend that carried me through the raids. 4 years went by and I hadn’t thought of him at all.... all of the sudden in a random crucible lobby I saw his name. So I immediately messaged him and invited him to my party, he knew who I was immediately! He told me how he was struggling to complete the new raid because he had to miss the first month of Shadowkeep. So like he did for me before, I carried him through Garden of Salvation.

I still remember... I was 10, my cousin showed me the trailer for D1. He said this game is the future, it is going to change lives, it’s going to be amazing. I got destiny in like 5th grade, launch. I was a little younger than most people playing, but I thought the game was the most amazing thing ever. I will always remember the feeling of being part of my raid team. The adventure, the mystery, the intensity, the wonder, the imagination. This game was something I will always remember. The soundtrack is so nostalgic for me. Taken king was the best. When everybody else called me a squeaker and turned down playing with me, one day at long last I found my raid team. There were a few adults, busy lives with kids screaming in the background, “saying hold on guys gotta put my kid to bed.” But they were with it through me all the way. One guy stuck with me through every quest and helped me with everything. I don’t have their usernames as I switched consoles between D1 and 2. But I hope the raid team lives on, and one day we will cross paths again. From the days of waking up on the weekends at 6am to finally kill Crota, to running home after summer camp to hop on some iron banner, it never got old for me. This is my letter to you. Destiny, thank you for everything.

Similar thing happened with me as well. Game came out when I was in like 3rd or 4th grade in elementary school. Now I'm 18... I was apart of a little clan as well that had several adults, and I was always the worst in the team because of how young and inexperienced I was. But I'm glad I played, and I'm thankful everyone played with me even if they didn't want to. This game truly is unforgettable

Hey dudes, just wanted to share my own D1 experience. Even if it gets scattered among the rest, at least I know it’s out there. I used to be in a clan named existed. We were a small group and we did everything together. I honestly can’t remember getting a single item without at least two of them being there. Our clan leader used to talk about how she thought our clan advertisement on the forums was so cheesy and cringey. “No matter what happens to the world. We know we existed.” It was a funny thing at the time but I realize how true those words were. If it weren’t for this game, I’d never have met them. But I did and I still cherish every moment we spent together. The reason I’m sharing this is because I feel like we can all relate. We’ve all come from different places yet because of D1, we made some of the greatest moments of our lives and put our marks in the memories of others. It’s a comforting thought that in a world where things are easily forgotten, this video and this community keeps us from being forgotten as well. Each comment is a story of someone else’s life and I wanted to do the same. I haven’t spoken to them in years and probably never will again, but I’ll never forget they existed. Emily, Sam, Alastar, Chard, and Tom, I hope you guys are well. ~Mike

this hit hard. i remember my old clan/fireteam. vicious immortal lights.. they took me in around when i first started. i remember getting everything with at least one of them. i remember us beating raids, trials of osiris.. god. i haven't talked to any of them in 4 years, and it didn't really effect me until recently when i decided to boot up destiny 2. hearing the npcs talk about my guardians achievements from destiny 1.. it made me start to miss them. since everything i achieved, was with them. lord of wolves, them. vex mythoclast, them. dregs promise, them. they've since changed their name and only two of them still play, i'm no longer in their clan due to a falling out within the group, but i may ask for another raid one of these days.. i won't ever forget them. Sic, Doogens, Infinite, Fast, and Ghost.

It was such a happier time then. I had no worries. All I had to worry about was when and where xur was coming and if I had enough strange coins to buy that one hand cannon I wanted. No worries about school and work and life and family issues, it was such a simple time. I would sit on the couch for hours and hours on end just hanging in orbit waiting to find a raid team, and as odd as it may seem, those were the best moments playing destiny. Just losing yourself and losing track of time and wondering about whatever small things you had going on in your life. I miss those days. And I should've enjoyed them more because now I see I took them for granted. Destiny was and will always be one of the games that raised me. And for that I'm so grateful. Destiny will always have a special place in my heart.

It's been ten years since I started this journey, I have not spoken to my true original fireteam in ages, I have just finished the main story of The Final Shape, I sit here staring over the Traveler at the aurora emanating out from it, looking back on my ten year journey, how both I, the community, and Bungie themselves have grown, my hope was at it's lowest point, but this ending has made me remember everything that made me fall in love with the story and the game in the first place, here's to the writers, the artists, each and every developer at Bungie for fighting to make the ending of our journey the best it possibly could be, you succeeded, and I can't thank you enough. I may have ended this journey alone, but I will never forget my Fireteams of the past. To all the Guardians that were unable to accompany us through to the end, we won, the Witness is gone, the Light and Dark are at peace, and it ended better than any of us could have possibly imagined.

@@arcticbear805 if you want, you can try to pull them back in. I had a similar experience. Our whole group fell apart over the years. In august, i started an experiment. To get the boys back on track an have a gaming routine in playing destiny 2 together. Even though we all grew up now and have jobs, i wanted them to at least try it for a 2 weeks. Now almost 2 months have past and we are in fact rebuilding the whole thing. On halloween, we have a special d2 halloween raid night where we will raid VoG. It's the first raid for all of us in years. But i'm certain that the experience will be amazing. Simply because we all came back together and try to make it work. It just took someone to get the whole thing started :)

I went back to D1 earlier this week, played a few strikes, a few crucible matches, then a story mission for the extra legendary marks. My friend joined mid-mission and it was just.. I immediately ran around looking for a mic, I found an old pair of ear buds with a mic, the left side had no audio, but I played like that anyway, just talking to him was enough and we were having a blast, searching through our vault on DIM for guns that we haven't touched in forever. Then, wondering if he wanted to start a raid just to fuck around. Sure enough, my friends list started lighting up, friends coming back for the nostalgia after seeing me or another friend playing. We finished VoG that night. I didn't get a Vex Mythoclast, but fuck it was beautiful, all of us laughing, just playing for nostalgia, not worrying about when we messed up oracles a few times trying to remember mechanics. Not worrying about Optimal DPS or what everyone's role was, we just played with what felt right and it was glorious. D1 will always have a place in my heart and I pray Bungie keeps the servers going forever.

Alright, I’ve been wanting to share my story with this game on this comment section for such a long time but never found the courage. So here I am. Destiny saved my life, this game came out when I was at the lowest point in my life, when I was 14, my parents are divorced and living with my abusive mom. My life was hell at her place, had not a lot of friends at school. My dad didn’t really care about my situation at my moms but got me a ps3 and this game at some point so I could play when I was at his place during the week-ends and half of the school breaks. As a huge fan of sci-fi this game was perfect and even tho I was introverted and mostly played alone wandering here and there on a patrols missions, I was obsessed. It was the only thing that brought me joy back then. But as I said, I could only play during the week-ends, so during the week at school I would look up armors, read about the lore, draw the characters etc. I was thinking about it non stop and somehow helped me think about something else than my life and how bad I felt and wanted to disappear. I had a purpose, I wanted to come back to that game the next few days. I tried to play with some other people at some point but it wasn’t the same, I really like the comfort it made me feel when I was playing alone, this game felt like a home where I was free and I had no troubles. Thank you destiny and bungie for creating such a good game, without it I don’t think I would still be here. (If you’re still here, sorry if my english is bad and made some mistake. But it kinda feels good to share my little story)
