I loved her definition of a modern day warrior. I am convinced these types of individuals that fight to revive/perpetuate our cultural practices have direct and stronger access to our ancestral guides. Remain brave, ladies 🙏🏽✨

How far back does one really need to go? There was actually a process before the chisel - before they carved it onto the bone. Do we still need to practice outdated techniques (instruments) to get the same result in terms of spiritual enlightenment, emotional and / or psychological benefits.

So confusing NZ Maori if your Maori elders say female can not wear this it’s not there ways. Then respect the elders decision. What’s your thoughts on this ? I researched the old Maori archives the stories I felt was real Maori it felt good to learn abit of Maori. And sad how Maori where fully colonised by the British 🇬🇧 But Maori of today I don’t feel, I say they are very confused tbh. Now I know Maori of today 2024 strive to find themselves as since the days of the treaty Maori are the most colonised people this I feel is the reason they are use to westernised living. FACTS 👍🏼✅ Any thoughts on this ? I return too Brazil with an open mind as I love NZ the country

Wow I’m very confused 😮 Maori seem to be very confused with there traditions and who they are today in 2024. it seems like it’s made up along the way as they copy other Polynesian cultures that are way more older then NZ Māori. It’s embarrassing 😳 tbh. When I first arrived in New Zealand 🇳🇿 I wanted too know the native of this land and learn what Maori as a people. Know I’m confused 🤦🏽as I return home too Brazil 🇧🇷. All the best and beautiful country NZ. 💯🙋😳🫡

Copy other polynesian cultures. So you have no knowledge about the shared traditions and similarities of all people of Te Moana nui a Kiwa. We are not the ones who are confused. We know who we are.

Stop copying the Samoans . The Samoans are the only culture in the world with those kind of traditional tattoos. Māoris never had those tattoos before I’m a historian and nowadays other cultures are copying the Samoans. Every time I visit New Zealand I always come across new copycat tattoos in Maori traditions the lost culture.
@josephtekahu91804 ай бұрын
You aren't no historian. Because if you know toi o nga tangata o te Moana nui a kiwa we all share the same lineage. So your so called research is more of a Racist opinion and is more like a hobson pledge copycat narrative. Stay in your own lane

@@robroy408 Correction Asia where the oldest recorded by missionaries tapping from Japan 🇯🇵 and Philippines 🇵🇭 along side with Samoa 🇼🇸 yes in Polynesia the oldest practice of this tradition in the Pacific is from Samoa 🇼🇸 as recorded before the missionaries arrived and recorded during missionaries arrival to Polynesia shores. Also recorded by French 🇫🇷 German 🇩🇪 and English 🏴 Captain Cook and Portugal 🇵🇹 Captains and sailors documented logs. Other then just tapping tools of the Samoa 🇼🇸 Samoa also has a connection too North n South America not just Asia this information can be found in the archives. So when explorers from 15 n 16 centuries onwards would arrive to Pacific, Samoa 🇼🇸 already had a very unique independent system running in Samoa those times and still present in there culture today 2024 Wow! Very similar too my culture Brazil 🇧🇷. Once again people this is all documented in the history of British 🇬🇧 and American and German 🇩🇪 Archives. Māori + Sāmoan here 🫡 You are not a Historian 🙄 if you were, you would know, that yes Sāmoans held onto the tatau but Māori definitely had Pūhoro. The Tongans have the Ta Vaka. We’re all children of the moana that share very similar practices, beliefs and languages. Most of them we now have to relearn and reshare since colonialism bashed most of it out. The story of Tilafaiga and Taima is from Sāmoa. The story of the journey to rarohenga is told to us Māori. Yet they’re both still similar in story structures. Hope some of this rings a bell and provokes future research before just blabbing 😮💨
