Te Karere, Aotearoa’s first Māori language news service on television, has reached a huge milestone of 40 years on air. Te Karere first hit the airwaves in 1982 with just a two minute bulletin before becoming a permanent fixture on TVNZ the following year. We take a look back at how it all began and it's evolution to what it is today.
