apparently the actress (Dominique Thorne) who plays RiRi was almost cast as Shuri, but I'm so glad she found the perfect role/moment to enter the MCU. And I loved Michaela Coel (although I still think she would've been a perfect Storm). The whole cast is fantastic, I hope Angela gets that Oscar!

When my boyfriend and I got together we watched all the marvel movies and shows. Took 3 months total, watching one movie or 2-3 episodes of a show an evening. Even if you alternate with other reactions, it will take less then a year and I highly recommend you go on that marvel journey! You will find a lot of viewers in marvel fans ❤️

One thing I hate is that people call Namor a villain, he knows how dangerous it is if a superpower like the USA gets vibranium, he tried to warn Ramonda about it and Ramonda died defending an outsider, Namor warned her that he will destroy Wakanda if Talokan was in danger. And they killed a Talokanil when Namor and Shuri were getting to some sort of understanding.

True, but a Queens responsibility is to protect her people. And to her Kukulkan/Namor came with a CLEAR threat just like the rest of the world. She put Wakanda and the royal family above all other things. And she saved someone from the lost tribe.

Namor explicitly TOLD ramonda this and said she will remain there because their conversation was not finished. ..And they backed out on retrieving the scientist they were never going to give her to namor, something talokan probably figured out before the bridge scene

I went to see this on opening day. I loved this movie. It had the action, showed emotional consequences and growth, they didn't kill the villain, they paid tribute to Chadwick while moving forward. I thought it was great, but I cried so much during the movie. Especially at the beginning, at Romanda, and when Lift Me Up plays at the end. Chadwick was such an inspiration. I am from about an hour from where he's from & he's played as so many Black heroes immaculately. And then to find out he was busting his ass so hard while going through all of that & then to have the internet talk shit about him as the weight loss got worse. It hurt my heart. From all accounts, he was a an amazing person deserving of respect. And all the women in this showed out. Amazing. 🖤💜🖤

This is an awesome film. I didn’t get a chance to see it in the theater. I watched it as soon as it was on D+. I didn’t make it 2 minutes. Tears were streaming down my face. The underwater suit its the same one they took from the marine researchers at the beggining of the movie. The most likely thing is that they figured some wakandand might have to travel there at some point, so they stole one from the surface.

I am a Marvel person who watches all the stuff. But the BLACK PANTHER movies are the top. And I have high hopes for the IRONHEART series since Ryan Coogler is involved and i liked her in this movie. But a lot of the shows are skippable. Coogler went at this one hard. He went at the first one hard too. But this one has such emotion all woven through it. (The song you like at when Shuri sees Talokan is called "Con La Brisa" for your Spotify playlist.)

I appreciate that pretty much everyone watching this was like “okay I understand where Namor is coming from” and then went “oh hell nah” as soon as Queen Ramonda was face down in that water. My guy, you kidnapped their princess, in rescuing their princess the two women present immediately made the call to kill Shuri and there was retaliation. For that you invaded their nation, flooded their streets and attacked civilians indiscriminately from their soldiers? Idk if it’s because of the indigenous culture I come from but that lack of honor is slimy and might be suited for the typical representation of a snake but not of the feather serpent god. Something they didn’t really focus on is that while Quetzacolotl is definitely a warrior god his main mythos regarded him as a creator deity. Essentially I have beef because whereas Bast was a warrior goddess her most common epithet was as a defender of the hearth and home. Namor would 100% get the chancla treatment.

The diving suits was taken from the CIA ship looking for Vibranium underwater at the beginning of the Movie. I'm not really sure the purpose of the Talokans taking it tho coz that implies intentions to use it when they don't need it. I love all the women in this movie. TT They all so strong. The acting in this movie is 100%, the soundtrack is 100%, the writing is 100%. They all really outdid themselves!

People said the same about Kilmonger not being a villain but he murdered 2 bw and choked out an elder without hesitation. His girlfriend believed in him so much that she assisted him in his criminal activities. She got a bullet in her head for her troubles. No loyalty or protection from him. He murders a Dora Milaje like she's not a human being by slitting her throat and then tossed her body aside. How much sympathy did he need to excuse him of that? I'm glad he was stuck in his own hell ruling a party of one from his throne, because he was doubling down on his arrogance and destructive choices when Shuri confronted him, instead of having accountability for his own downfall...he just redirected all blame on everyone else. He got no sympathy from me, just as Namor didn't if Shuri took him out. Namor came to them with threats and ultimatums. He literally said he would come to Wakanda and kill Queen Ramonda, of which he did. He's a villain. He blamed them for telling the world about Vibranium and the exploration ships but fail to see that no one knew of his existence before that. Never reached out to the Wakandans until then, and invades their home with death threats. And by attacking the ships with people reporting over their technological equipment the description of them, he is still risking exposure anyway.

I cannot with those who just watch certain movies from the MCU and are clueless about the story line. You punked Namor when he first appeared to the Queen and Shuri. Namor is the first mutant and a bada$$, not one to be messed with. Wakanda is lucky to be on even ground with Talokan, maybe. He is a problem in the MCU, hence the reason why he has been introduced for the next phase. He played Shuri at the end. Talokan will be back! Wakanda will either be with them or against him like he said.

Despite what the other morons have been saying in the comments this movie was done extremely well under these circumstances I can see your confusing on certain things in the movie so I'm going to try to explain it to you for starters let's start with Talokan the people appear blue on the surface due to oxygen deficiency in their skin they're not able to breathe oxygen through it they're only blue when they're above the surface but they skin return normal when they're in the water that's due to their ancestors taking their version of the vibranium irradiated herb the people in the city are the descendants of the earlier people who took the herb the reason why Namor is different because his mother took the herbs while she was still pregnant with him his body mutated as a result making him the first mutant he's the only one with pointed ears Wings on his feet giving him the ability to fly through the skies and normal colored skin and breathe both air and water and you're also right about that culture it is based on Meso American/ Mayan culture the reason why it's called Talokan instead of Atlantis because DC came out Aquaman and his people are Atlantians ironic because Aquaman is a direct copy of Namor predates Aquaman by 5 yrs and the reason he want Wakanda as an Ally against the surface world because in Namor mind they are the most powerful Nation besides them and will be best choice because they're able to defend themselves in case they try to attack or invade do their highly advanced technology and also thanks to T'challa for exposing wakanda in the power of vibranium to the world he holds wakanda responsible in general for it because it put his people at risk of exposure and discovery which could lead to an invasion that's where Riri comes in and like you said people are greedy they wanted to find out if there was more vibranium around besides inside wakanda and also possibly locate the country itself now this is where Riri Williams comes in her intellect and genius is on the level of Tony Starks she is the only one known to reverse engineer his Arc reactor that powers his Iron Man suit and Tech and replicated just like Tony she was highly resourceful and able to build highly advanced technology that no one else can with only broken pieces of scraps hence why she was able to build the only known working vibranium detector because vibranium does not set off normal metal detectors this was shown in the previous Black Panther movie now for her she was just building it for her school project without no knowledge or ideal of the government's true intention for that device once again the main reason why Namor wants Riri dead so his people they can stay hidden and protected with wakanda's help they can successfully conquer the surface world and possibly rule over it

🤔 i think Namor didnt want to kill Riri, he just wanted to look intimidating, thats why Riri was still alive, i remember that the talokans took Riri and Shuri to their place. otherwise they would've killed Riri and take Shuri alive only.

@@bryand9337 he wanted to kill riri because she was the only one who made that thing and see now nowhere else could at the time he wanted to nip it in the bud before they could engineer it and he only took riri alive because Shuri begged them for better or worse he still is a man of his word
