@@Jasper-kz2sn have you seen the musical. It’s not that she can’t sing, it’s that she can’t sing to the level the part needed. If you’ve listened to the broadway musical soundtrack, or seen it, you would hear the stark differences in the way movie cady and stage cady sing. Parts of apex predator for example are meant to be sung by cady and were sung by Damian instead, likely because the actress playing cady couldn’t sing the way she needed to. I can’t speak to why she was cast, but I can speak to her musical abilities in that regard -the musical was better imo.

If you look really closely in the music box that Gretchen gave Regina, you can actually see the plushie with the pride pin from when her and Janice were besties. Why I love the musical over the OG movie so much is the complexity it adds to characters, I think what happened to Janice is the most evil in this version but Regina still has the plush. So I love the Broadway show and my three biggest issues with this movie, the arrangement of Stupid with love (it’s flat and too radio pop for Cady’s character at the beginning. Honestly keeping the reprise and switching to the more pop sound would have been a cool character thing). Meet the Plastics should include the other plastics, especially cause the song does such a good job at setting up the characters immediately, also more Renee vocals could have been had. And last the “fashion” in this was not it for me, I fully agree the plastics should be in heels. Or at least more of high fashion shoe. Making their fashion too relatable kinda brings the whole vibe down for me.

Janice was lowkey (highkey) worse than Regina. Regina knows she's a terrible person. She relishes in it and uses it to her advantage. Janice is like clueless to the fact that she completely took advantage of someone who knew NOTHING about social customs, both in the U.S. and high school, hell just in general. She saw someone she could mold and use to do her bidding. Yet somehow, she was upset when the person she tried to mold ended up being molded by the person she hated lmao. Also, the fact that they thought Cady wrote the book when 99.9% of it was stuff from when she wasn't in the United States, let alone the damn school lmao.

Knowing your a bad person and still being a bad person is way worse than being a bad person and not realizing it
@khalilgiovanni10 ай бұрын
@liltmarshall8717 No, it isn't. Especially if you're walking around judging said bad person, doing everything in your power (including taking advantage of other people) to hurt that other person. And then acting high and mighty when you get your feelings hurt. She doesn't realize she's a bad person because she doesn't see herself in the same light as Regina. But that's not the only kind of bad that exists. They're the same kind of bad. One is just aware of it, and the other has tunnel vision that won't let her see that she's hurting the people she claims to care for. I doubt Regina would ever say she cared for any of her "friends".
@khalilgiovanni10 ай бұрын
@liltmarshall8717 Maybe Janice isn't worse, but they're definitely the same level. Now, this is an extreme, but someone who commits a horrific crime and knows it's bad and someone who commits the same crime, but they're self righteous, so think they're not doing anything wrong still committed the same crime. Being friends with Regina is something you'd do at your own risk and you know you'll probably be screwed over. Being friends with Janice and being mistreated would hit harder because she doesn't come off (initially) as that kind of person.
@rc833010 ай бұрын
@@khalilgiovanni It's the self righteousness for me. Regina is who she is. Whereas ole girl is trying to play the victim while exploiting Cady. The fact she acts so hurt that Cady wasn't a "good friend" while not even calling her by her actual name is such mean girl behavior. Janis is a horrible person pretending to be the hero of the story and that rubs me the wrong way because everyone was held accountable but her. She should be the last one preaching to others about how to treat people in the end.

I have every song Renee sang on my playlist. I feel like this movie just boosted her up even higher than before. Whoever didn’t know who she was before definitely knows now 🩷❤️😂
