In 2007 fear set into me and I made some really bad choices. Now when news headlines shake me, I hug my kids and go work in the garden. I keep a few months food on hand and remember, "The Lord is my Shepherd".

+Starr Meadows Starr, I understand. your struggle. Just stop and think about the fact that the most powerful person or group or religion or country on earth is nothing compared to God. They have no say in what the final outcome of history is....it's all God's decision - only God is truly in charge of the universe. I'm not saying we won't suffer here or even be killed....but the worst they can do to you on earth is to kill this shell we live in....they can't touch our soul - unless we give them that powered! Stand strong knowing that eternity is God's realm and those who know Him are perfectly safe forever!

Very good and sound advice. I'm from Hattiesburg but living in a small rural town in NW Ala since Katrina. I'm in a small apt now but have been putting up supplies, meds, water purification devices, self protection needs etc, I will have to leave this apt and am prepared to. My BOB is ready and an additional carry bag of possibly needed documents and flash drives. I don't have family to help me and not in great health but I have God, friends & skills. I'm continually gaining knowledge. Bless you!

I love the journal idea. My Mother grew up very poor and just happened to do the same thing. Last weekend I went wild crafting in the forest and was thinking I should journal. In the past, up to last November I was a homesteader. Now I am in the middle of a divorce and starting out again at 52, so I am doing my best to stay out of a mess by using common sense. I've planted my garden in buckets, because I am living in an RV park. It's not much, but better than nothing. You both are so inspirational, thank you and God bless you both.

Great video! Our health is everything. I survived a heart attack back in 2008. That was my wake up to take better care of myself. I was blessed not to have any heart damage. Had to learn how to manage my stress, I do that with gardening and canning. Enjoy your videos.

OUTSTANDING video, Danny & Wanda! My husband will be 75 & I am 68. We are doing everything we can to be 'ready' -mentally, physically & spiritually. Yesterday I worked all day in the yard. Every once in a while, I would stop & pick a few wild violets or chickweed & munch on them. I can do that safely, since we don't use chemical fertilizers & pesticides. The strongest thing I used was a little chicken manure around a rose I planted. I know I can also eat the rose blooms when I want to. If everyone would just get a good book on wild edibles & walk thru their property, they would be amazed how much nutritious food is all around them & it's FREE!!! THANK YOU so much for this very timely video.

Absolutely awesome video. My family has been going thru some rough financial times the last two years.I pray for God's wisdom in providing for my family.I think part of God's provision is leading me to knowledgeable people.I got a few chickens a year ago, unfortunately I can't have a rooster where I'm at.They have provided us with a good source of protein when the money has run out before the end of the month, but then I was concerned about having enough chicken feed,or worse, being unable to get it,so the "girls" are learning to forage more and my compost pile is providing them with lots of worms.I had to leave a home where I had worked on my garden soil, planted fruit trees.strawberry patch.I'm starting over with lousy soil and a bad back, but in the meantime,I have a few things in pots. Also trying to wean off prescription meds and find natural alternatives.God started speaking to me about Joseph several years ago,and if I hadn't started trying to put a little extra back,I wouldn't have made it these last couple of years.God bless!

About 10 years ago I was living in Florida when we got hit with 4 hurricanes in one season. That was like a life changing event. There was after 1 storm that we had no power for 2 weeks. That really opened my eyes. I had no generator and alot of the stores was closed or only open a few hours a day. I had to sit in line for 8 hours to get gas and hours to get whatever was left to eat at stores. I started prepping after that so I would not have to go thru something like that again but you never can be prepared enough.

I would like to add something here that I don't think should be advertised to the public only because it can get over whelming and well just somethings need to be private. Find a community of people that you know and trust and set up a network with those people. Consider becoming a ham radio operator so you can communicate, Keep your frequency private. Safety is also going to be a concern when people find out you have what they don't.

Yes, I have a coworker who lived thru the 40's/50's ( she was a child) she remembers her mother trading those vouchers. Her mother would trade the sugar vouchers for other types of vouchers. My coworker said " I never ate anything with sugar in it...but then I did not miss it because we were in Florida and we ate lots of natural sugars , oranges, grapefruits and stuff like that..it grew right in our yard." This same coworker also described her Dad every spring purchased a large herd of chicks which they allowed to free range in their yard as well as fed food scraps. Her Dad then killed the chickens in the fall and that was their meat supply. Her family grew EVERYTHING...and they lived in the city!!!

Good morning Danny and Wanda. Hope y'all have an absolutely wonderful day today. Danny: I also have back troubles. Here's something that I've found that helps for several hours each day...when you shower turn the temp up till it's so hot that you can just barely stand it and let it soak your back muscles. Then, if you can, bend over and touch your toes and stay in that position for at least a minute and just "hang" there and let the hot water loosen everything up a while. Then, just before you straighten back up again start turning the temp down slowly a little at a time until the temp is cool and the muscles get tightened back up again and let that cool water work on your back muscles for a minute or two. It gave me relief for over 4 hours a day when I hurt my back and was still working a regular job. Hope that works for you as well. Glad to see Wanda up and about. Was worried about you guys. Love ya peeps. Have a blessed day.

There is NO excuse to do nothing. I started preparing in 2011 and I still am overwhelmed by all the scenarios that I am not prepared for. But, I just do the best I can. If you don't eat, it doesnt' take long before you will experience things like, headache, dizziness, upset stomach, and you get weak. You MUST have something put aside to keep your body fed. You can't do anything if you get weak. Then you get scared, like Danny said, and your brain will not be able to think logically and calmly when you have to deal with something. Each time you shop, pick up something to put aside. Just do it. God bless you Danny and Wanda. Thanks for the video.

Danny and Wanda, I started watching your videos just a couple weeks ago. I must say, the two of you are so wonderful, full of passion, full of wisdom, full of encouragement. We have five children, ages 6-14, and live in a rural neighborhood. I'm on the same page as you two about feeling the international political tensions increasing, thanks for the encouragement to prepare. Our family has decided to begin growing as much as we can, raising as much as we can, and to start a deep storage. Also, God's Blessings on you both, I really appreciate your biblical point of view. You've gained a subscriber, and I look forward to keeping in touch!

This video is so insightful and right on time. I watched several of your videos while deciding if we should move to a place with acreage as we are now able to afford one. We decided no based on our age and possible health issues. Thank you. We are doing as much as we can on 1/2 acre suburban and have started storing freeze dried as we can in addition to gardening and fruit trees. This we owe to the wisdom you and Wanda have conveyed through your videos.

After my previous husband died, I learned the hard way to open the bag on the tailgate, and let it run into a 5 gallon bucket. It makes for more trips back and forth but it does save your back. And if it's really bad, use a furniture dolly to move the buckets!

There is one major thing I have learned during hard times, and I have been in them. While all is good and plenty, you never think of being hungry, or eating, only till you have nothing do you realize how hungry you can get. When you are stocked and have access to more, your line of thinking is ahh, it is there, I can go without eating for awhile ,but when that supply is not as much, you wake up and think, man I need to eat something before I get sick. I can go days with out eating, but I think it is due to the reason, I know when I do get hungry I have food in my stock.

This topic is exactly why my brother calls himself the "nutrition prepper." His saying is something along the lines of "all the prepping in the world is useless if you're unhealthy." It makes sense somewhat, which is why my focus is all about getting healthy as a means of getting prepared for whatever may happen.

I understand, my husband has a broke back, so I have to do all the lifting. I appreciate the info about the asparagus water. I am an insulin dependent diabetic. I just bought some asparagus on clearance, the crowns are tiny and dry, so I made some willow water ans gonna soak em in it, then use it to water them with. That and compost tea. I hope they take off. I bought myself a worx cart, and it is such a blessing to have and a pleasure to use. I also purchased the wagon assembly for it. This cart has simplified hauling heavy things for me tremendously!

Learn the wild plants in your area!! Medicinal and nutritional value. I live in Alaska and the challenge to be prepared here is that growing season is so short, and that include for the wild plant. But I know where I can go dig under the snow and get berries and how to read wildlife and even the nutritional and medicinal content of the trees because thats all that is really showing most of the year. if worse can to worse.

I remember the long gas lines a few years ago. I am trying to get edible perennials growing in my garden. Good King Henry greens, collards, learning about edible weeds also. Oh and I used some rotting oak logs and built a small hugelculture bed about 3 ft high, and it is amazing. I want to build huge hugelcultur beds. I tell you it does make a difference and once they reach a certain point in there decay they don't need water they get spongy and hold water so nice. I recommend them to anyone who gardens!

You folks are so right! I'm in my 60's and had to stop and think hard about how I will have to live when I'm collecting SS - Not even dealing with something cataclysmic, just surviving on SS. I divorced in my early 50's and essentially had to start over. I bought a house that I could afford - yes, it's small - but I have enough land in my back yard to grow a garden and planted some fruit trees. I've added chickens, and now that the chickens have eaten all the grass in my backyard, LOL, I'm working on adding some raised beds. Folks, no matter how small your house is, you can create some storage. Learn to can. You can get lots of bargains, and you can put those things up. Wanda, you were talking about stocking up rice - excellent idea! But people, go one better. Invest in a vacu-sealer and attachments for sealing mason jars. Buy mason jars on sale whenever you can, and vacu-seal dry goods - rice, nuts, corn meal. Vacu-sealing will keep these things fresh for a year or two! I buy off-brand bags from Amazon, and vacu-seal meats and fish. They take less room in the freezer, and will stay fresh for years. What if the freezer quits or the electricity is off for weeks/months? All that frozen meat can be raw-packed into canning jars and processed to keep for another year. Bottom line, think about the what if's! We have hurricanes here, so I keep extra dog food, fuel for the generator, and feed for the chickens. What will I feed them when that runs out? You have to think about that. I vacu-seal oats and grains just in case I can't get chicken feed, and I can meat scraps for the dogs. If push comes to shove, I can feed them mush or oat meal with meat scraps, and it's healthier than most dog foods. Heck, we can eat that if it comes down to it! Plan and prepare - Do whatever you can. One day you'll be glad you did!

Something that helps me... I notice blackberries, plums, etc blooming them mark on the calendar (in the month they will get ripe) where I saw the blooms. Try to think of something you can forage or buy cheaply in each month then write it on the calendar to jump start your self. Not to be paranoid but do you ever worry about putting all the storage info out there? I am talking about drawing in the people who have not prepared... just come in to take your supplies.

Hey, Danny, haven't been on your channel in a while, but glad I caught this and watched the whole video. My situation is so different. Living in Los Angeles, we are utterly dependent on the Metropolitan Water District. (big subject, water in Southern California) I don't have a lot of storage for food, unless I clean out my garage, which I should do anyway. My son is coming down this weekend and invited old friends over and was hoping to serve something growing in my garden, but a couple of cabbages and some carrots and beets is about it. (Coleslaw!) I'd forgotten exactly where you are, but Looks like you are about an hour and half from Mobile, AL. I'm taking a trip down there in July to visit one of my subscribers who's an amazing gardener and generous person. I'd love to visit your homestead. Send me a PM and let me know if you would like that. All the best, Kaye

Thank you guys for such sage advice. One would have to be like an ostrich (head in the sand) to not see what is going on in this earth. I am 'stopping and thinking' and I so appreciate everything y'all talked about. Wanda, praise HIS holy name that your health is better. That was quite a scare. I was ok until I saw Brad w/Big Family fame weeping, then I crumbled And Danny, same goes for you, sorry for your back issue. Use good body mechanics totin' those feed sacks around. God bless and keep you and everyone of HIS children. Love from Texas, Carol ❤🌻🕊🐎

Thank you Danny and Wanda for getting information out there so others can think about this and start getting ready! And your point about each one of do have different needs that differ from you folks so that is a very good idea that we stop and think about what we actually need to survive if a life changing event happens we are prepared!!! God bless you both!!!

This is a good topic and great video guys. Too often, we take our health for granted among other things. I get reminded every day at work (hospital worker) that I'm very lucky at my age -- so far -- to not have any (known) health issues nor need to be on any medications, nor is my husband or children. I am also thankful I can still lift and move around bales of hay and feed bags. But that could change tomorrow, especially since I am carrying around about 30 extra pounds. Kinda stupid of me, I know. . . . Good reminder guys to take nothing for granted, have back-up plans AND be pro-active with what you need to change to help protect yourself and your family in the future best you can. We're blessed with abundant water too. Not a small thing. Love the idea of having something fresh every day. Never thought of it that way before. Lots of food for thought (no pun intended) in this video for me. Thanks guys.

When I heard Wanda was good, I had to think because you are our age, We had to think long and hard about this issue again because maybe aging is not down the road but now. We were blessed during the depression because we had to raise poultry, goats and gardens. My mother said that they had lots of "parties" with contributions going to the cook to make a meal. That was done weekly.

1 25 lb bag of rice is 8 dollars in Canada. I am trying to source out groats this year and a mill. So that thus is added to my beans which I sprout regularly. So yes we can all do something.

2. Long lines. I like how you're sharing your knowledge that can overcome fear. Fear and fretting, says scripture, leads only to evil. Ps 37. Even the most prepared will lack in due time, and have to either wait in lines or prey on others.... or be incredibly strong spiritually and able to Trust God what to do. God's Word promises that with every temptation He will provide an out so as not to sin.

I've had that calling for some time. We're looking at buying more lamp oil and I will be working on an alternative well water system soon. I've been buying extra medical supplies for some time too. As far as my diabetes I have a limited supply of meds so that's my personal biggest hurdle to deal with. Thanks for your insight and warning. God the Father is on His throne and will be watching over us.

Good talk, I have been trying to get this through peoples heads for years. To many people want to turn a blind eye to it all, then when SHTF they are going to panic. I see it every winter up here when the power goes out. To many depend on oil heat with no back up. The power goes out, there house starts to freeze up, ( I live where below zero weather is a very common part of winter ), and they panic. I sit here nice and toasty warm with my wood stove going and my lights on running of my battery bank.

Don't know how bad it could get in Australia but will ramp up our food storage in the next few weeks to get it where it should be. We have plenty of water but it needs to be boiled and will look into some way to clean it up more easily. Thanks Danny and Wanda and take care the both of you, xox.❤❤💚

The truth is things will happen..it is a fact..we can prepare but truthfully we will never have everything covered. We need to think ahead as you say. I am down with my back as we speak also. My wife and I take no prescription meds either. More than ever we need to learn to depend on God to help us in our time of need. Take care and God bless you both.

3. Food Storage. I found its easy to get carried away. Both so I don't over buy and waste AND to keep variety... I only store for 3 months at a time. So, I consider what I like eating in season and make a list... Now, instead of buying a years supply I get either a one or three month supply on an item. Example... in Summer we want salads or sandwiches. Winter we might want soups, chilis, casseroles, pumpkin pies, etc...

Our stores run out of the staples when we have a snow storm predicted. We try to grow what we can in the space we have and I do can a lot of produce, jellies and Jam. I grew up during the depreciation. I told my doctor one time that I was canning potatoes and He asked me "why on earth would you do that"

We love you too! :) Note on rice: My husband is asian so we eat ALOT of rice. We buy 6 months of rice in 25lb bags from the local asian market (most bigger cities have them). Buy bulk you'll save money (although the prices have gone up and the bags are getting smaller >.>). Also folks might want to buy extra preserving salt...that is about the only way to preserve meat without power besides canning. Thanks for the wakeup call guys. I wanna mention that maybe you can have your feed delivered & stacked for an extra fee from the grain mill? I know you can't store too much mixed feed without it going rancid if it's not whole grains (whole grains store 25 years if vaccumed sealed) Worth checking into..I have that same problem because I can't even lift those 50lb bags and have to depend on my husband transporting them down to the barn that is down a steep hill >.
