Nice! I'm glad to see the Strongarm is getting more love and attention than it ever would've gotten at my house. It does take a little practice to get the feel for that reload, but once you've got it down, you really don't need to take your finger away from the trigger.

I love the aesthetic of the Strongarm, Roughcut, and some of the digital camo styled blue and orange magazine-fed blasters, I just wish the Strongarm had a more comfortable action than a slide-based action. Ease of use is easily the number one factor I look for in a blaster, and that's why I'm not fond of having to prime via a slide on top of the weapon. I much prefer a pump-action/front grip prime or flywheels over most everything else.
@Deluvenai2 жыл бұрын
Umm dude for the strong-arm having a slide is the best it makes the slam fire way easier to do because you can easily hip fire it. You can easily turn it gangster style when you are going to prime it, making it easier, need I say more. What do normal pistols have oh yeah they have a slide just like the strong-arm.
@Deluvenai2 жыл бұрын
It's really the only action that works for slam fire in the strong-arm, the only action that as a revolver makes it instantly better than anything hammershot, am I saying you can't "make" it have pump action, no but its gonna look weird because you're probably gonna have to make it be right next to the grip because of the cylinder.

@Flygonial8 жыл бұрын
A Rapidstrike has some pretty solid ergonomics, but it's somewhat weighty if you stick with the stock battery tray. Maybe IMRs in C cell convertors would be lighter, but going the LiPo route will probably cut down even more weight depending on the pack used. Also, a pack wouldn't have to go into the tray, it could also be mounted above the pusher for better balance (in Rapidpistols mainly), or in the stock if you have it permanently extended (not recommended if you have short arms, though). There's nothing jarringly wrong with a Stryfe, comfort will vary depending on the stock and foregrip (I think it's fine without one, but it's not the most comfortable in the front). It can be converted to full-auto by aftermarket kits (select-fire options exist, too!), but some of those cost more than a retail Rapidstrike, which you could cut down to be an SMG or pistol).

Walcom I recently purchased this kit and after installation discovered that I couldn't soak fire. I contacted Orange Mod Works and this is deliberate. Here is what they told me. The current version of the kit ships with a slam fire catch that does not actually slam fire. We did this for two reasons, the first reason is that the slam fire catches were breaking from slam firing while using the newer 7kg springs and the second reason is that repeated use of slam fire was causing the actual shell of the blaster to break rendering the blaster non-functional. Just a friendly heads up☺
@Guoenyi2 жыл бұрын
factory spring is about 4.2kg. 7kg is way too much. I will try 6kg spring for a starter.
@emmadns9222 жыл бұрын
I mean between me and my cousin messing around with it dry firing it, slam firing it all the time some of that also dry firing for 6 years it's finally started to occasionally misfire with hero darts. In order to further streamline reloading, couldn't you glue a spring into the hole where the cylinder goes in so that the cylinder auto-ejects?

Personally, I've known a number of people who've had their Strongarms break through repeated use. My own Strongarm still has trouble with priming, but it will prime if you're careful. Just because YOUR Strongarm hasn't broken doesn't mean that they, in general, don't have a tendency to break in stock form. Your personal experience is not a large enough sample size to say that they definitely don't have that problem, it just says you've never run into it personally. A lot of other people have, myself included. That said, the OMW version is much sturdier and doesn't really have that problem. I like the Hammershot for compactness and the fact that I play a number of game types where one-handed firing can be necessary, but once you replace that piece the Strongarm becomes a much more reliable blaster.
@WalcomS78 жыл бұрын
Your personal experience is not a large enough sample size to say that they definitely do have that problem, it just says you've run into it personally. A lot of other people haven't, myself included.
@Jonathan-kq6jr8 жыл бұрын
I'm not just speaking for myself, though. I've seen dozens of people who have their blaster break in the same fashion, in the same way, and probably ~85% were stock, so bad modding wasn't to blame. People say the stock Strongarm breaks because their Strongarm broke; while I'm sure others have said it, the only person I've seen who hasn't had this issue is you. I'm not just talking about personal experience, but whenever you bring up this topic it seems like you are. I'd guess you ended up with a few that for whatever reason were a little sturdier; I guess you could say we ended up with a batch that weren't very sturdy, but that would still mean it has a reliability problem. Also, I have to say I don't get the point of you rapidly dry-firing the blaster at the end? You've replaced the piece that usually breaks with a sturdier piece from a third party source, which is like saying that Longshots don't suck stock because when you put work into them they're amazing. I've heard nothing but glowing reviews for the OMW kit as well, and I know some of that, at least for me, has come from people being happy that they had a sturdier priming mechanism.
@WalcomS78 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Phippin Because the notion was that the OMW kit breaks easily, which is one of the reasons why a lot of people were calling it a waste of money. Dry firing it as hard as I can (to the point where I got a massive blister on my thumb) was to stress test it to try to show that might not be the case. If you think I'm talking about only my experience, and the entire reason I did this video was because Bobololo said it was an awesome kit and was tired of people saying they broke. In fact if you check the comments of this very video lots of people say they have had no problems with their Strongarm and here you are perpetuating that they break. See how divisive this thing is? That's why I made this video and was literally trying to destroy a 32$ kit.
@Jonathan-kq6jr8 жыл бұрын
See, I've never heard anyone saying the kit was bad. In fact, I've heard great things about the kit which is why I was confused. That does explain why you were trying to break it, though. Everything I've ever heard said the OMW kit fixed the major issue with the Strongarm, being that the wings had a tendency to break (especially under increased spring loads), so you testing that (to me) seemed kind of strange, but I get where you're coming from now.
@WalcomS78 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Phippin It's the only thing I've ever heard about the kit, it destroys itself. I've never heard anyone besides Bobo and a bunch of old reviews praise it. I have even seen pictures of broken tabs on them with people saying they fired it only a couple of times; and that might very well be the case (although people do silly things). That's the reason I did this video. I had heard nothing but people using the Strongarm's fragility as reason to not field it, and at the same time I had only heard of a few people praising it. I wanted to get a better consensus and try it myself.

the strong arm is definitely a good blaster. its easy to slam fire, its comfortable, and its the elite version of the maverick. however, the hammershot has one thing (at least) over the strong arm. the cylinder can be replaced with one that has up to 7 shots. yes, theres a nine shot kit, but I can still duel wield. sure, its a little hard, but once you get used to it, you have up to 14 shots. you may not see the point in duel wielding, but I do.

You can use the sling point on the bottom of a Strong arm to pull back the slide, allowing for dual wielding

Mac Crawford like the old maverick style of duel wilding? that's inefficient, and frankly quite useless. you'd likely have to point your blasters away from your target(s) ging them an opening to tag you, should they be zombies, or shoot you, should they be human.

+Mac Crawford give me a break, its not even HALF as easy to duel weild the strong arm.

+Zach Campbell I just said you could do it, not that it was easy. I personally would rather run a single strongarm that two Hammershots, but that's just my opinion
