Thank you for your warm words! Seems like a lot of people are tired of EDM sounds, however, we produce some to cover the needs. Its also interesting to design them to check the sound capabilities of synths. Anyway, producing the unusual moving and swirling pads is definitely much more interesting for a sound designer.

Our team is quite young, but our music preferences are fairly conservative. Its nearly impossible to listen to what is playing nowadays on the radio stations 🙂 good old melodies are better for testing the synths 🙂

Blofeld is quite an impressive device. I found some parallels between this synth and Virus Ti: the possibilities of wave modulation are wide enough, and the output sound is soft and bright. However, sounds for dance music are difficult to produce, due to the fact the very principles of sound oscillation and effects interference are different.

"New" :) Blofeld is 14 years old now. A bit hindered by not so great UI and a bit underdeveloped os, but sonically great.

@@OttOKSchwarz it is a bit dark and moody. I like it because it is different. Most synths and Vsts, even those from Waldorf, are way more pristine nad crisp. Reminds me sound of old videotape (in a good way ;)

Do these sounds require the SL License? I.e., do they rely on wave samples? The sample memory on my Blofeld is kind of full already ...

I had Blofeld but there was low volume low frequency hum heard from the output...Is that normal? Some Typhon's have that issue as well..had to return.... Anyone noticed that? Thx

Yes,we also noticed a noise. But its not horrible

No hum here. I have the black one (a later model perhaps). It is a little low on the volume, but I put it trough preapms (build in the soundcard/mixer) and no problems here. Actually, most of patches is not to the full volume - a lot overhead is left - so even without preamp it could be a bit louder (volume up + amp up + a little drive). The UI is the worst tough. I have it for years now and still don't remember how it works ;)
