THIS is exactly the kinds of stuff I want to heart from this synth! FINALLY! I'm so sold.

WALDORF NEEDS TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS ASAP: •The screen touch response is pretty BAD, first and foremost •Fix Multisampling workflow •Latch to external Keyboards •Visual feedback on the Wavetable scroll •Step Sequencer increase (32 steps is too short for the SEQ) •Undo feature (at least one step) All these Applied in the new Iridium also

Wow, the way you patch the different parts together with increased and decreased energy while editing the sound is really unique. It is inspirational, keep it up!

Thank god finally someone is actually making something interesting and new on this machine. Let's have more as the synth community has all but given up on this thing- this actually shows some prospects....

Music from the stars, dude! Never has a tea bag box sounded this far out. There was a time when I would HAVE to own this machine. Now I think with every new fad: Can it produce sounds that (my) existing machines can't come up with? This is the first synth in years that would stand that test. It can do about everyhting I can imagine. I wish it wasn't so expensive though.

Finally some cool sounds from this machine! Unbelievable how waldorf failed in this. Almost like Alesis with the Andromeda A6 back in the days.

yeah, but there are also some cool factory sound coming with it! the machine ist still a bit under construction

It will stay in my studio. It was not an easy decision I must admit. First of all I do not like massive tons weighing monsters so much but... I like it because there is a dedicated knob for almost everything so it real fun and really effective playing and tweaking the synth in realtime. The integration of oscillators filters and FX all in one machine is awsome. But on the other hand: The routing is rather inflexible and stiff. I found, also, unbelievable that there is until now no way using osc as modulation source (for FM etc), modulation routing is fairly easy though. I talked to Waldorf and it seems to be that there will be the FM option in future frimware updates. For the moment there is only ring modulation if you as interaction between the oscillators. But RM is hidden way back in a menu and until only directly accessible, you can route it to the mod wheel for instance. You see: It is not easy to decide and the price point does not make it easier :-)

Great stuff, I have really enjoyed all your Quantum videos, thanks for making them! I just got a Quantum myself, and it gave me an idea for you if you do another Quantum video. Before making the video, how about going to Global settings->Scope and set Type to Scope, then set Mode to Pitch. Then tap on Vu meters at bottom left of touchscreen, and change to Scope. Then there will be a nice oscilloscope-type graphical display at bottom left of screen which would be nice for people to see when you are tweaking sounds :)

Sound great for film scoring! How do you feel having played the instrument?
@LESINDES6 жыл бұрын
I really enjoyed playing and tweaking it live! Although the reaction of some parameters is a bit slow, delayed so that you have to be careful tweaking! What is really appealing you have many many parameters at your fingertips by a dedicated knob. When I was programming of sound I was not that enthusiastic about the instrument because I was missing some very important things like FM, The temple thinking could be better here and there, but tweaking is really enjoyable.

Has each osc his own reverb/ effectsettings? What about a sequencer like Elektron? Softwarewise it should be possible? Maybe in an update? FM ✌️
@LESINDES6 жыл бұрын
No. No insert FX. FX only on the sum. The step sequencer is a simple step sequencer. Also A4 a step seq. So in principle they are similar. What make A4 different is the access to the parameters and that you can record motion sequences of every parameter change! They promised to enable FM in Osc of the synth engine. Still not updated though ,-)

Can the Quantum use multi-samples?
@WavetableMetaphysics6 жыл бұрын
@@milk_bath of course it can and I think anything can if you make "multi sample samples. Remember a sample is a wave. ROM... So a sampler is a ROMpler. A multiple sample is a layered sample say like 7 tracks rendered out the DAW into one stem file. Drag drop play. I do this in MPC live for key groups!
@WavetableMetaphysics6 жыл бұрын
@@milk_bath say you wanted 3 grand piano, and 3 EPs and a string. Layer them mix the volumes and render but also you may want to get the different octave of middle c as well for mor robust colours... So maybe like 10 tracks, mix, render, drag, drop, plug in play. I re engineered the blofled its doing what the quantum is doing for sure. But I think I still say NEED this board.
