Nicely done . . . I may never be able to afford a Waldorf Quantum (I do have my humble little Waldorf Rocket here), but I can appreciate the Quantum and what can be done with it. Many thanks for posting.

I dont see many videos on the quantum other than yours. Really appreciate you providing these. I feel like this is one of those unsung heros of synthesizers. Synths like the moog one gets the fame but the quantum deserves recognition

I played a quantum 5 days ago...v rarely has a synth got me....dave smith polyevolver did...also your play style is great for these sounds....i rly like ambient drone music....john serrie ima big fan of...your patch demos are like ideas for tracks....great stuff mate!

Excellent demo of a very interesting synth. 👍

Digital symphonic, rich full sounds. Reminds me of K5000, Z1, Fizmo, DX and CZ series patches with slow attack and longer releases through reverb boxes but you would probably need to stack them all to get the depth, richness and texture displayed here and the effects are nice, restrained, subtle and not in your face. Filters seem responsive with lots of throw. Percussive patches cut nicely, would stand out in a mix. Want one. Buying lottery tics ....wish me luck. I wonder if they will release a mini/mid range version .... the Quark(?!), I might be able to afford that.... Digital sparkles, shines and gets out front in a mix but can lay a nice pad wash as well.... cool synth.

Sam Utah I doubt if Waldorf would name any synth ‘Quark’. This is German for ‘curd’ and pretty pejorative as a non-food designation. :D

Great sounds and playing for documentary footage even underscore. Makes me want one. If I get any more gear I will divorce myself.

Another great sound demo of the quantum by you, this synth do really have a warm, vintage tone to it. I am certainly more impressed with it sound wise even then its modern fully analogue counterparts. The quantum slightly reminds me of the EX5 in tone but is of course more of a dream synthesizer and a more up to date instrument and offers a real analogue filter, its features are outstanding. I would love to see a video where you summarize your experience with the Quantum, and also speak of new features such as the Kernal feature. Cheers! 👍

Sorry for posting again, but does the Keybed feel good? I would purchase this to replace most of the synths I have, and a keybed can make or break the decision to purchase.
@PureAmbientDrone4 жыл бұрын
Well this isn't hammered action or nothing and I don't have any problems with the keybed but that is a very subjective topic. Were I love some keybeds others can't stand the same thing. I wouldn't say it's a bad keybed but it certainly isn't a pro keybed either.

8:14 so smooth ! lush. Is there a stereo pan knob or stereo pan possible as a modulation destination like Rev 2? I understand the out put is TR not TRS, it does sound somewhat narrow in the field at times
@PureAmbientDrone5 жыл бұрын
I actually think its depended on the samples used, I have to dig deeper on the stereo thing, I was wondering that myself. The narrow parts I believe is a by product of my video software. I may have screwed with the imaging accidentally while working on my dialog track for this video. I think it was my doing but didn't notice it until I had uploaded it already. So its a lot wider than this video. Sorry about that.

someone knows how "waldorf quantum" compares to the "percussa system-8"? e.g. which one is more suitable for which different use cases?

I have never encountered a synth like it. It can do a lot. John Bowen told me personally it would be the only synth he would keep if he could only have one synth in the world. But do your homework its a lot of cash.
