Just taken delivery of one of these, and it more than makes up for my REON Driftbox R arriving broken. This is an absolute beast of a synth,and I can already think of loads of uses- some of the even practical. One of my better buys I think!

Worth picking up cheap (I got one used for $100) Agree, great addition to anyone's sonic arsenal and it sounds full on despite it's size. have fun

Didn't know it existed, a friend offered it cheep. In my studio didn't think much of it at first then I midi-ed my bass station 11 to it, put the output of the bass station into the rocket and it took off. The rocket really added depth, and yes it ihas s great filter. Glad I bought it.

the boost is a bit nasty... Anyway - one of the most useful synths under 200.-. The chord / paraphonic options (the saw can also be played with 8 voice paraphony via external keyboard btw.) is really very musical. Think of getting one (again), it's even a great filter box with a punchy evenlope for external processing + luckily the LFO is clocked.

With the external VCF IN, is it possible to trigger the envelope for the filter via MIDI without triggering the internal oscillators?
@Nu-trix2 жыл бұрын
No, the VCF in is only an audio path not a trigger in.
@SouthShoreSonics2 жыл бұрын
@@Nu-trix Thanks. A Rocket came up on kijiji so I thought it might be a replacement for a 2Pole, but they want $450CAN for this and cheaper for Rocket. As I paid slightly over $300CAN for my 2 Pole (I wanted a second), I won't play close to $500 with shipping for one.
@smersy833 жыл бұрын
what's the deal with the midi out? doesn't send clock ect....
@Nu-trix3 жыл бұрын
It does send MIDI CC Messages for every knob movement.
@immofroehlich75394 жыл бұрын
How did you connect the Volca beats to the rocket ? I wanted do do the same but I have to hold the launch button for any signals.
@Nu-trix4 жыл бұрын
The enveloppe of the rocket need to be open to hear the incoming sound. Either with the trigger on the rocket or via MIDI or find a way to program a very long enveloppe, almost a drone.

if i were to write a synth melody in midi using a vst could i send that same melody through the rocket and record that?? thanks great video
@Nu-trix6 жыл бұрын
Yes, you could try different things, like playing the same MIDI melody for the VST and the Rocket. Then send the VST instrument out into the audio filter in of the Rocket and get a combination of the the VST + the Rocket oscillator before the filter stage. Why not try a drum loops instead of a VST synth and pass it through the Rocket filter?

hey might be a stupid question but is this synth polyphonic given that the oscilator is digital and has unison? I'm a noob to synth stuff so idk ^^
@Nu-trix4 жыл бұрын
It is not a noob question. It can be confusing.. you are right to say that in an analog synth unison exist only if the synth is polyphonic . But in a digital virtual oscillator it can recreate many oscillators in one instance. Hence creating unison sound with a single oscillator.
@mrpickenz77604 жыл бұрын
@@Nu-trix Oh ok I understand and thanks for the quick reply :) But does this synth then also have the option to play more than one note at a time for chords ?
@Nu-trix4 жыл бұрын
This is a monophonic synth. I can only play one key at a time.
@mrpickenz77604 жыл бұрын
@@Nu-trix Hey thanks again for the reply but funilly enough I have since seen videos of people playing chords with up to 8 keys with the rocket when in unison mode. Maybe give it a try. In all the videos I saw they played the notes after oneanother and kept them pressed down as they did so but it did then play all the notes at the same time. Not sure if you can press the notes down at the same time for the same effect though :) Anyway keep up the good work, I look forward to watching more of your content as I dive deeper into the world of hardware synths ;)

Ok... another GREAT Video! So here's my question: I really would love to learn the fundamentals of Synthesis (Just now starting to learn that there's a difference between additive and subtractive synth) - could you do a video similar to this using an inexpensive app like DRC or Zeeon Synth - where you don't have to go hundreds of dollars in to learn if this is something you want to pursue? I'm learning so much from your channel and other on KZbin and I really appreciate your time with these videos.

I dont understand the Hype of everything with an "analog" badge on it... Waldorf is definitely NOT known for analog Synths. Waldorf for me, is the peak of digital synthesizers at its finest, and they bring a wave of fresh air into any synth collection full of stinky old Rolands and Moogs. 🤷♂ Get yourself a second-hand Blofeld and find out what I'm talking about. My opinion.

@Nu-trix4 жыл бұрын
Sorry but Behringer still needs to prove that their hardware has the quality built to stay functional in the long run. I have no idea on the quality built they have today but I the past the Behringer hardware I worked with did failed a lot quicker that other brands. I still have 20 years old Roland synth that was use by students in its first live. Talk about abuse! And it still works. In the case of Waldorf the quality built is made to last. I’m curious to see in 5 years how the Behringer will hold up.
