The Prophet VS has the same filter IC (no high pass filter as far as I know) so that's your best bet if you want some of the Wave sound. The Wave is pretty difficult to find and the price is kind of outrageous these days.

Do you still own the cadmium wave? There has been a Cadmium wave in the last vemia auction. Was that yours? ;-) Sadly it would have been to expensive to buy the wave of the auction... To much extra costs because of brexit :-( I hope I will find a wave somewhere here in Germany :-) The Quantum is a wonderful synthesizer... You should get one!

Yes, the black "shadow" version. It's super sexy. The prices at reverb are insane and again the extra costs for customs & taxes come on top. I know a guy that has the black wave too, but he won't sell it.

I have a Waldorf Wave, but I honestly prefer the earlier PPG wave. I guess I'm biased because I'm a huge Depeche Mode fan (they used a PPG wave).

One of the most amazing synths EVER created. Hardware in this league will cost you. I found my Microwave II for a good deal in 2017. Never sure how long she'll last. All the more reason to pick up a Blofeld, or copy of SERUM, SEKTOR, or ASCENSION, the LinPlug Spectrum, or some of Rob Papen''s VST line.

I bought a Wave back in the days (1996) when it was released. Right out of the box, it displayed nothing but errors. Returned it to Germany and got my money back. I think the price this piece was sold for is - sorry to say so - simply ridiculous. (16K$) But I need to admit it is beautiful designed...and design costs money. Thats why I bought it once. Sound wise, there are plenty of alternatives.

This was an awesome instrument, especially considering that it's 20 years old now. But the used prices are insane. One like this might cost you $12,000, which is nearly three times the price of a brand-new, more-capable Waldorf Quantum.

Uhmmm…the Quantum can only dreams to sound like the old wave and microwaves, i sold it immediately, the iridium and quantum missing the punching basses presence and organic sound that those old machines are capable to do..maybe converters and totally different components…but this is the reality I suggest to you to buy an old microwave 1 rev A or B and a stereoping programmer before the prices going crazy here too..already high but affordable
