A normal session with a quantum. The quantum is made for this , rich powerful complex sound. The arp sequences remind me some 70's musics.

Some people put me off buying this synth but not you, you get some great sounds out of this, really ethereal, spooky and ambient. Very “Heresy” by Lustmord or a bit blade runner. Can’t make my mind up to either go for this together with the matriarch or an 8 voice Moog one for the similar price.

1. I bought a Prophet X two months ago. 2. I bought the wrong synth. :( Not that the PX is bad, but it‘s blown out of the water by the Quantum, sound-wise and even more regarding the UI. Why, oh Waldorf, did you mislead the public with lousy & thin patch demos for 2 years?

The Quantum might be better in a lot of aspects, yes. Nevertheless, the Prophet X is a rather different synth, but it's a very good one. Dig it on more!

I have made many patches for the PX, but it is hard due to its bugs. For instance, sometimes the envelopes don‘t go back to a zero sustain level. :/

You should never judge a synth by the demos... sound is subjective and there are many factors that can affect the audio and mislead your ears. You should be more influenced by the features and potential of the synth

octopus34 a square wave is a square wave, no matter what synth you’re playing it from! All I was trying to say was that one person could record a demo of a synth and it sound good, another could record one and it sound shitty.. it’s all subjective. It’s about what YOU could do with the sound to make it sound good... and what you could do is limited by what features the synth has. When I saw the quantum’s specs, I knew it was going to be an absolute beast, despite the shitty demos at the time. I knew what was going to be capable with that thing!

You should make a video going through some presets.. but, with your recording methods. Your demos sound so full a refined. The sounds are amazing, very appealing. As you know, all sound designers have different ways of constructing a sound. I would like to hear how some of the sound designers’ sounds sound recorded correctly, as you do haha.

Great synth.But i don't now,4000 euro.When i use my softsynths BT phobos,edna,haunted spaces mixed together i create sounds like the Quantum for 500 euro.But don't get me wrong.The Qauntum is great.If i would pay so much.
