I can respect how talented and underrated Wale is but I think people downplay Cole artistry and skill. From his bars, flow, consistency, song writing, hooks, and even singing. Wale as an overall artist I think has peaked, while Cole still has more to offer, not even just from a writing perspective because he produces as well.

Exactly. Wale had a bigger push than Cole in the beginning but Cole's records resonated and sold more. Both are great writers, but Cole is way more versatile. Cole’s appeal for many fans perfectly: he’s an excellent entry point for newcomers to the genre- highly skilled, often borrowing styles and flows from legendary rap icons, and often times falling short in creativity and artistic cohesion. When revisiting artists like Wale, K.R.I.T., etc, it’s clear they had a broader range of artistry but lacked the marketing push that propelled Cole to the forefront. Dope perspective, Reed! I disagree with what you are saying and here is why: Wale can spit but does not have a crazy skill when it comes to bars and punchlines and also he does not have memorable bars nor albums except for two albums (Album About Nothing and Ambition). He has hits but not like Cole. Wale also does not have crazy double meaning of bars. Just say you prefer Wale than Cole. Wale can be nice but not like Cole, gee. Also if he is better, what did Wale do that actually changed hip hop or what album did he make that is considered by many a timeless album or a classic in simple terms. I strongly disagree with this.

So I'm not gonna lie I'm about to rap with no beat, I do agree that Wale and J. Cole are two artists that are better in comparison than Kendrick and Cole Cole is more like Drake and wale is very much so more on the Kendrick side but there's one thing to be noted about wale that a people are not aware of folks from the DMV are good for messing up some **** that is what we do best I have heard since I was a child that we have it crab in the barrel mentality I think that is more of a inner city thing than just the DMV thing but because crabs are such a big thing in our area we go around and hold this type of behavior as a badge of honor kind of in a similar way to how people in New York just have this weird disdain for each other but still love each other at the same time if you look at any artist from our area you will see similarities not just in the sound but in the behavior we have people like big 64 he just passed away recently he was shot they taxidermy this fool and put him up in the club like he was there we are some strange people no savage he is also an artist from the area he just got out of jail for shooting at someone in the mall foolishness lil dude him and 6/4 when they were coming up we're notorious for getting into fights and shootouts after their shows they got robbed numerous times they had a big situation going on with hood rich Pablo one and they messed that up by getting him involved in stuff he had nothing to do with got him stripped **** naked and robbed ridiculous man shy glizzy aunt glizzy these fools come out the same group Camp and they hate each other fat trel you seen what he did down in MMG messed up his own deal he can't stay out of jail he can't stay off the drugs and he's one of my favorite cats from around the way so basically we are good for messing up our own opportunities but I read in the comment section that someone believes that Violet and Cole are not on the same level lyrically I find that to be crazy maybe I'm biased because I'm from the DMV but all of my family is from North Carolina so I spent a lot of time there growing up I support Jay Cole so heavily because he's from the Carolinas but I can't agree with that statement I will say because he leans so heavy on the go go and most people don't either know what that is or when they hear it and they're from somewhere else I often hear them say it sounds like pots and pans in music which is crazy work but I do understand their point of view so so much of his discography can be discredited because people just don't like the way that music sounds but the lyrical aspects of those songs are still through the roof there's wildly songs that I could play you today that still make me tear up and at this point those songs are like 10-15 years old coal is deep and he is fired but he does fall into this space that I personally feel is also taken up by people like logic and Drake they rap to prove they're blank at times and to show their connection to a community that they have said numerous times have shunned them which is also interesting because wale is first generation African from the DMV area and if you know anything about the DMV area they don't treat people of African descent like they're from the DMV even if they're born there so the same way hip hop looks at Cole Drake and Logic the same place where this man is from treats him like how hip-hop treats those 3 and then he's not accepted by hip hop as well so my man has had the craziest uphill battle his entire career. Ohh and the fact that you brought up the Jerry Seinfeld thing is no small feat behind you let's be honest the only Jewish people that really deal with hip hop are at a I run the record label level the only person that's down here with the common folks is Drake so the fact that he was able to get Seinfeld to do this is completely unheard of Jerry Seinfeld and rap music who would have seen something like that coming……………. Nobody I'm not too sure how this holds up but if I'm not mistaken Wale was one of the first people to do music with Meg the stallion like we can get into the Forest Hill drive of it all but man I don't see how people can't hear through the accent in the boombastic nature of Wale's delivery at times honestly how profound bro is and I know the glazing is at an all time high right now but bro he is from where I'm from I can't let people slam their dog without actually giving him a real ear in a chance I know he has the innate nature to put his own foot in his mouth but bro is still ridiculous on the microphone. I'm gonna get weird Wally has songs like Gubilee right where like the first couple bars of the song he talks about the government control of hip hop now if you are a real hip hop head you know that has been something that has always been a thought his next bar is about how iPhones attacked now he is from DC uh could there be a level of the government suppressing wild lays music in itself I don't know I don't know but I will say I'm sure it's not good for business for a guy from the area where the government is located to be talking about them negatively I mean Martin Luther King JFK I mean when Ronald Reagan was president they gave a not a crap right on like the lawn of the White House the government is crazy out here on my side “so is that a little far fetched?” “am I reaching there my shoulder does hurt a little?” but that's not that's not crazy to say” The lights game brother ain't trying to ruffle no feathers or go against the status quo and that is coming from another light skinned brother and I have been dreaded and locked up long before J. Cole And the rest of the world thought it was cool so I can definitely understand You as well but also I do believe Wale arrogance has really played a big part in his trajectory uh if he is anything like most DMV people I know he most definitely is not going to take that time and effort that he poured into hip hop refill his cup and pour into something like being a sneakerhead or pour into the wrestling seemed like he should have because think of all of the people that have intercepted these ways of life as well Lil Yachty has a sneaker Travis Scott has a sneaker if buddy would have stayed the course and not made such a kerfuffle on his way to where he was headed there would definitely be a Wale dunk or a Nike SB of some sort you know the skate scene in DC is really heavy if I know anything about guys from our area if we feel defeated we do tend to give up and it's not something to be proud of but it is something that I've noticed you see how he crashed out on that phone call that complex that is a straight up and down DMV dude tactic I can't tell you how many times I've done something like that or my family members have done that male and female that is just something we do all the “moes” and the “ja likes” get the flying all over the place when you're mad I know I just got my app on but the point here is I agree with you and y'all need to listen to some more Wale

Bro, if u want to listen to Wale, just go listen to him, but stop comparing him to Cole. They're good artists in their respective ways. Y'all niggas just say anything for views these days smh. I bet u don't buy his music but would come online to shit on an artist u dont like just to sound informed. FOH
