Hi Christian, As I am a carer for my parent's and always there in the mornings, I will be watching the game with my Mum and Dad. But the Queensland Reds are a good team and a team that play together on a regular basis week in week out, so this is a game they will beat us with a decent score. These past two games with Australia remind me of those Autumn International games in the first time Warren Gatland was coaching Wales just losing to Australia by 1 to 6 point loss. and the last games we weren't hammered just lost by 8 points 26-18 in the first and 36-28 in the second game it's not an embarrassing loses just that we lost both game's and a big loss to South Africa and I don't think we will win this game. I know i've said this before but it's a new team and there is players still waiting for there first cap, this team is going to take a year or so to get back to top form again. In two years teams like France, Ireland, England and so, we will have a full experienced team and those other teams will have players leaving and new ones coming up and they will probably be in the same boat we are in now. We will get our new golden era back. For a small country of 3.15 million we not doing bad. As always i enjoy your review on our Welsh rugby, Take care

Great to hear from you as always, mate. I’m really hopeful that this is the beginning of that new golden generation that you’re talking about. we’ve suffered enough losses now and the team needs a win let get it here we can move onto the autumn with a bit of confidence Hope you enjoy the game, mate. Give my best to Mum and Dad. 👍🏼💙🏴

It’s an odd team but excited to see how they go against a strong club team. Am I right in saying the players won’t win a cap for this as it’s not an international team?
@shaun30-3-mg9zs4 ай бұрын
@@theoatthedisco Not too sure, we are playing as Wales so a possible cap.

950kg+ pack there based of weights on wru website which have been recently updated. If Mathias and Griffin can't get a nudge on with that much weight behind them. Toomaga Allen ex all black tight head played in Europe as well for Wasps and Ulster so will be a tough task for Mathias. Backline looks good. Like you said 9, 10, 12 combo. I imagine James Truck it up of first phase Tompkins at first receiver with Costelow doing his favourite wrap around the back (probably get clobbered in the face during the process) maybe a bit of space for Dyer and Grace.

Yes, some big old boys there which makes a nice change be interested to see how they go and how the balances. Really hoping we see a W for the lens

Excited to see Griffin, Screech and Grace play. Other than that I agree that there's not much else to say and he's playing players out of position again. I dont know what his fascination is by doing it constantly. Also, we could definitely benefit from a 2nd development team touring to top SH teams and get them more up to speed to top tier rugby so if and when they get called up, they'll take to international rugby like a duck to water. Watching the u20 Wales games and we have fantastic individual players like Morse, Hennessey and Page. All 3 look destined to play for the seniors sometime soon and we need to develop them properly. Not sure if Gatland or the regions can do it sadly
@TheWelshSportsPodcast4 ай бұрын
Yeah, I have no idea why he keeps playing players out of position unless he’s got some grand plan for a big versatile team🤷🏻♂️ I’d love to see a B team set up again and I think we would benefit 100% but there’s no way they’re going to be willing to find the funding to do so which is such a shame
@danieledwards69744 ай бұрын
The lack of strength in depth is evident here. I can’t think of many weaker teams we’ve fielded in 15-20 years. It’s really sad to see
@TheWelshSportsPodcast4 ай бұрын
I think that’s a fair observation. Couple of interesting players to look at though 12 and 14
@spud78234 ай бұрын
We played Australia with a B team, new half back pairing, 22 yr old prop, things are looking good, stop being negative, Gatlands got a headhake in the Autumn as more players come back,
@danieledwards69744 ай бұрын
@@spud7823 B Team? I’d say 10-12 of these players would start the autumn series. Josh Adams, Tomos Williams in the backs I’d expect to come back In, which others would you expect to come in? Forwards wise Jac Morgan, possible Francis. Which other forwards you expecting to come in & start?

All I want to see from this game is can the front row scrum and Lloyd run a lineout. Can big Mac and Eddie James dent the line. Last what's Grace all about does he have X factor with more players on the pitch.
@deniss26234 ай бұрын
Hi, Christian. Not that it adds much to your credibility, but I seem to agree with your every observation! 6 and 7 seem the wrong way round, for instance, and I don't quite understand why they don't try Thomas at 12. Let's hope Gatland knows what he's doing!

Cheers Denis. Great minds 😁 Yeah don’t get the 6-7 unless he wants to see them in that spot to see if there’s potential 🤷🏻♂️

to be honest this is the game I feel most excited for just to see some new players out and about especially grace big fan of his. but not to sure about the back row and I'm really not a fan of hill and captine would rather of it gone to some one else just hills only be around the team for a couple months but I don't know who would go to so guess can't really complain.
@TheWelshSportsPodcast4 ай бұрын
Yeah, I felt the same way to be honest but when I looked at it, I was thinking well who else could be the captain maybe Gareth Davis? But other than that, there’s no real outstanding candidate so it is what it is Some of the young guys put their hands up and stake a claim
@davidlee554 ай бұрын
Tshiunza and Plumtree are the only player who can play backrow who arent completely battered from a long season. Both injured for most of the season and Big Mac doesn't have as many minutes on the clock either. Botham got whacked in the nose.

Wales are on a bit of a banana skin here As anything but a win will be viewed very negatively But aleast Gats is giving everyone a match to play in this tour Also at last his cebtre selections make some sense With E.James starting at 12 Where his size and power could make a difference Also glad to see R. Grace give a run out Expecting it to be a close match and really Wales should get the win here But again i wouldn't be too surprised if they lose either So been a interesting tour with Gats i think experimenting and looking at his young talent more than focusing on getting victories for me So roll on the autumn and hopefully We will see a real Wales rugby squad

@clivesilver4634 ай бұрын
Even though Wales lost last week, barring the awful mistakes at least there was an energy and fight with Wales, the turning point for me, we should have won that game, the week before was same old Wales, this is nothing more than a try out see who can cut it at this level, and at least there have been some players who will have a future. We need strength in depth players who step up to the mark, rugby as it is today injuries are part of the game every international side has them, Wales at full strength will be more combative with 5 or 6 class players returning Morgan just one to mention, what other teams have is that they don't fall apart with a few injuries, we do, getting them exposed to higher level will do them good win or lose.

Nice to see a realist on here, I'm happy with the blooding process, I can see green shoots, Gatland is putting in foundations for 10 yrs, this as echoes of of 2007 and Steve Hanson, and we had 12 magnificent years after, we must now concentrate on the regions, at least get 2 competitive regions into the playoffs, I see lots of positive things happening, it takes time, but it will bare fruit, bit of paitence.

I’ll hold my judgement until the autumn and see how we perform there. I really hope you’re right because I can’t handle losing anymore😂
