I'm English and live in Wales. There are some absolutely stunning roads for biking here. I go over the Gower with my friend very regularly, although we live in Swansea, me on the marina her in Mumbles so not a massive trip for us. It's beautiful over there, and I do find that there are very few anti-bikers here, less than in England. It could be argued that there are fewer people in Wales so that would stand to reason, but let's keep it on the positive :) Wales is a beautiful country and more people should appreciate it for what it is.

Welcome to life in Wales... 30mph reduced to default 20mph unless exempted by the local authority. This has been widely reported by the main stream media. What has had less attention however is that national speeds have often been reduced to 40mph with 40mph often reduced to 30/20mph. Now there's a labour government in Westminster is suspect England will also be dragged back into the 18th Century like Wales! You've struck gold with the weather! Stay safe!!
@BanditmanukАй бұрын
The weather was brilliant. We planned this trip very much last minute when the forecast finally gave a few dry days. It's not just Wales, the whole country is slowly adopting lower limits. I just don't understand it when modern cars and bikes have massively shorter stopping distances compared to the 80's and 90's. There will be a camera on every lamp post soon to ensure we all comply! Did any one vote for this???
@RichardASKАй бұрын
@@Banditmanuk No we didn't vote for it.

Id have done more vlogs on Gower myself but to get there the tourism traffic of camper vans is horrendous in nice weather. A nice loop of fast roads once you get through through Reynoldston etc. But From Llanelli west is better. Pemrokeshire and Elan valley are the best.

Great weather! We haven’t been to the Gower for many years but remember the drive to it being less than attractive 😟 - sadly, Wales is being ruined as a biking destination with the totally ridiculous speed restrictions - excellent video though! 😀👍
@BanditmanukАй бұрын
@midlifemotorcyclediaries Yes, fantastic weather. That's the beauty of going last minute after looking at the forecast. We picked the Gower fairly randomly because we had never been. So we're glad to have visited, it's beautiful once there, but the last third of the day's riding was busy and slow. Slow being the predominant word !
@RichardASKАй бұрын
Couldn't agree more. That Labour idiot First Minister Drakeford, didn't even drive. However, there are still thousands of miles of good roads in Wales with no cameras and midweek is always quietest and much less 'Old Bill' around.
@michaellilley6725Ай бұрын
Another great video even if the roads were slightly uninspiring for you. Noise reduction did a great job negating the wind noise but as is always the case no bike sound either. Still it didn't have the annoying hum anomaly that some software does and your voices were crystal clear. Seems like the only roads where 60 limits remain are single track country roads where such speeds would be a killer.
@BanditmanukАй бұрын
@michaellilley6725 We did enjoy the run, and I think we were comparing that day to the absolutely incredible roads of the previous days ride through Snowdonia. Yes, the AI cleaned up the audio but removed just about all the bike noise. At least it made the audio usable. We both enjoy a powerful motorcycle, but the writing is on the wall as far as speed limits and speed monitoring are concerned. One amusing thing I did learn from the comments section, is the guy with the sheep holding us up near the end is called Kevin and he's watched the video 😆
@flatcapcaferacerАй бұрын
Who sets those 40 mph limits anyway? I'd appreciate your secret camera and receiver settings on your insta and rode....you can email them and I'm sworn to silence. 😁😁 Walking in sand is enough exercise for me.
@BanditmanukАй бұрын
The trouble with these speed limits, governments look at statistics. Going slower means less deaths on the road. No one votes for these restrictions, they just appear to happen. We have no secret settings. The Insta is as it comes out the box. The Rode receiver is at -6DB but the most important thing is having the Hamo Laptop microphone in the helmet plugged into the Rode sender. Most microphones are too sensitive and get overpowered
@flatcapcaferacerАй бұрын
@@Banditmanuk Very much appreciated Amigo. The Hamo pic-35? I guess we could be real safe by walking 😄😄
@BanditmanukАй бұрын
@flatcapcaferacer Many years ago, when cars were first invented, a man used to have to walk in front of the car with a flag to warn others of impending danger. We're slowly heading back in that direction!
@RichardASKАй бұрын
@@Banditmanuk The problem is, that if you keep lowering speed limits down to zero, there'll be no road deaths, but no-one will ever get anywhere. There are now about a 1/4 of the road deaths, that there were 50 or so years ago and yet we have 10 times the number of vehicles. These Government idiots have never thought, that as vehicular transport got faster, everyone got wealthier! Funny how these geniuses can't see that the opposite is also true.
