Everyone loves to slag us off, dont know why. Forever rebuilding ? Please .We have ups and downs, more than most teams but our six nations history of titles rivals England's, a country 20 times our size. 2019 we were Six Nations grand slam champs and made a World Cup semifinal, quarter final in 2015 and 2023 and semifinals again in 2011. Right now we're in a slump, and its going to be for a while, but we'll be back. Cymru am byth🏴

Its good to see its not just us Welsh folk who are confounded by Gats' refusal to pick Morgan Morris or why the Ospreys team is so unrepresented. Ospreys literally won more matches than the other three regions combined this season.

Yeah it's a bit bizarre. Would have thought Ospreys were the main feel good thing in Welsh mens rugby at the mo and maybe you'd want to bring more of them in. Just for a bit of positivity.

As a Wallabies fan, I don’t think it’s being overly pessimistic to say 1-1 is about the best we can hope for. Schmidt has had less than 2 weeks with the team and Wales have a very settled coaching group, added to the fact they’ve already played 6 games together. Yes, all losses, but they’ve had some really good periods of Football (think 2nd half vs Scotland, 1st half vs England\Ireland\SA) and we’re starting from way further back.

I'm also not sold on Taine Plumtree, but Gatland has a history of pushing Kiwis, Hadleigh Parkes, Gareth Anscombe, Johnny McNicholl etc. I've gotta be honest, I don't think Gatland is the coach for us anymore. I said it when they sacked Pivac. We are in a difficult position where it seems all of our good players get injured and we dont currently have enough star dust to really perform. But I honestly can't see what he's trying to do with the side. But that's just me, I don't claim to be an expert or anything 😂

It's a good opportunity for Welsh and Australian players to stake their claims for the jersey on their backs. I don't expect great team performances so early into rebuilds but I wouldn't be surprised to see some great performances from individual players hungry for it.
@WalsallGooner4 ай бұрын
It’ll be a good series to watch, both teams with plenty to prove and opportunities for younger talent to Stamp their mark. There were some Welsh players who were capped too many times and perhaps should have retired after the 2021 Lions tour or Autumn Series. Looking at the Wallabies team, there are a few that may not make it to the 2027 World Cup and ideally should retire after the Lions tour

I'd be delighted with 1-1, can't see it happening. But then we (I?) know relatively little about this Wallabies team. It's comfortably the weakest Wales squad of the professional era, but that's 90% down to circumstances. Other nations may be able to afford 20-odd missing players but we are never going to have that depth. Apart from a couple of Ospreys (who are, for whatever reason, clearly being deliberately overlooked) there's not a crowd of prospects banging on the door. Although we might consider just sending the U20s team who scared the bejeezus out of the Baby Blacks this week... :-)

We have no decent front row players so will struggle. Going on tour with 1 no 10 is rediculous. The message gatland is sending to the 2nd/3rd choice fly halves is disrespectful at best. They may as well leave the regions in search of more money.

Has to be one of the weakest squads ever se4lected to tour for Wales?? I can only assume that W.Gatland is using the summer tour to look at more of Wales young talent With him most probably focusing his squad and efforts later this Autumn. I will be surprised if Wales manage to win a single test or the match against the Reds As i do rate J.Schimdt as a coach who will have his players well drilled in the basics if nothing else and well read prepared to face Wales
