IU has never promoted in America or Europe, but this year she filmed a video for the first time in Los Angeles, did a collaboration with Tweety and announced a World Tour... this can be seen as leaving her comfort zone and the first steps of being a dandelion spore without having boundaries for understanding the world and oneself. I really hope everything works out for her. I really love IU. Thanks for your reaction. Be sure to attend her concert ;)

HOLSSI means seed or Dandylion. In case you missed it the object at the start was that character that is in fact IU who hasctaken on human form. Like all IU videos there is more to it than meets the eye, a lot more. From the lyrics to the images in the MV you can't watch it once and understand it. If you aren't paying attention to the lyrics, which is understandable on the 1st viewing it is highly likely that the MV will not make sense and even seem "weird". She is dressed exactly like the cartoon version of herself. Until the end when she has remove everything that she had started out wearing, has she let's the cartoon version go. Here is my take on the MV The opening scene is shot on Myer St along side the LA river, Tweety is is sitting on top of EL PATO SALSA. Part of This video was shot at the intersection of Jordan Ave and Valerio St in Canoga Park, CA, which I believe is a key to what the song is about. This is the 1st time IU has made a video in the US & guess what she is coming to the West (Europe and the US) to hold concerts for the 1st time. Don't tell me there isn't a connection. There have been a lot of people, in Korea particularly, who say and have been saying, that IU doesn't need to prove herself by going to the US or Europe. But here she is about to launch her 1st world tour that includes Europe the US. It seems as if she is talking to directly to someone, and telling then here plans and to not worry about her she has this. She spreading herself like Dandylion spores on the wind. She isn't going to settle on smooth ground (i.e. taking the easy way). She says she is a single spore (a soloist). On a different road. Fly high to bloom. (To reach her full potential) If any asks how I'm doing Send them the news "She has become a spore" (she has taken to the wind, flying without wings where she lands nobody knows, meaning how will things turn out no body knows). Follow me, gonna go and win (she will succeed on this different road). Follow me, even without wings (on social media etc she will be visible ) I'll fly in the center for everyone to see (like her last 4 indoor concerts in the round, she wont shy away and hide) Where she will be it will be sunny and hot she will need her sun glasses (in the US in July you need sunglasses everywhere). The sky above is blinding. But I'm not afraid of heights at all. (She is not afraid of the risk she is taking. A risk many others are fearful of for her.) I'll fly so close to the scorching sun (she will push the risk factor in order to succeed. ) But she will sit on a cloud (and enjoy the show) And she might cause a little ruckus while she's at it just for fun. (meaning watch out, expect the unexpected) The road ahead won't be easy. (She knows that will be hard) But I won't fuss about it (she won't complain or make excuses) This was my choice, it always has been (no one pressured her or said to truely make it you have to make it in the US. It's her choice and always has been. Whatever happens it's on her no one else). The odds of it being easy are zero (acknowledging she is fully aware of what she is embarking on) Wish you all good luck. I'll even say goodbye (this sounds too much like her lyric in Eight where she is angry that her friends just come and go as they please without even saying good bye. But she is saying goodbye, possibly saying she isn't committing career suicide? ) May God be with ya See, (she said goodbye) see ya Tweety pie reference is definitely important and significant. I'll admit I am still a little confused by it, but here it goes anyway. Tweety is caged and only leaves the cage and takes flight to escape Sylvester always returning to the safety of the cage. Could it be IU's way of saying that she is leaving the cage and it's risky to do so but sometimes in order to survive (escape Sylvester the cage can become a trap and leaving it is required to survive but never leaving it permanently) you leave. But the safety of the cage is always there and Tweety always returns to it. By filming this in the US with American dancers and American neighborhood etc, she is establishing a connection with her western audience. The ending credit scene where the IU HOLSSI kite/balloon is behind the powerless gives the image that it is still in a cage and safe. It is also interesting that the child looking out at the other kids dancing with IU, and appears to be interested but also a little nervous appears to be of Asian descent. (Meaning could be the child in IU that is still a little nervous or when she was younger the thought of doing what she is now doing was scary or that she is acknowledging those in Korea who worry about her) the worrying about her however extents to all her fans around the world. At the end she allows the cartoonish IU go as the real IU, who is no longer wearing the Dandylion outfit of the ballon/kite gets ready to head out on her different road.

Well said 👏👏👏 and i love the fact that there's always more than meet the eye in IU's MVs and lyrics. Shes a deep person and witty too. There's always a hidden message in her songs, lyrics and MVs.
