MAPA has two meanings. First is the Ma (mama) and Pa (papa), our parents, who always supports us. And Ma (mata | eyes), Pa (paa | feet). Our mama is our eyes, teaches us to be open minded, alert, and humble. And our papa is our feet, telling us to stand up and fight, whenever you feel like you're down and giving up in life. This song is a message that we can't express to our parents, someday I will be able to say "pahinga muna, ako na" (take a rest, I'll take care of it) to them. Our parents deserve all the love in the world, same as SB19❤️✨❣️🇵🇭🙏🏽

Masterpiece Indeed. SB19 is one of the few artist choose to write songs dedicated for their parents. Their very humble and they know where they came from. Their parents are one of their number one fan why they fighting for their dreams. Pablo said in one of their interview " they were inspired to write this song because there are times in their career that their are so busy and they don't have time to go home ang see their parents. Pablo ask each member how they feel that time. When they were living together they decided to write song for their parents to show that even though they are now successful but still their parents are the reason of their achievements. SB19 are really a great artist. They create music not just to show off or be popular but they create music to inspire and help their listener to express their unshared feeling through SB19 music.

The chorus Latara sounds like "La Tierra" in Spanish which is translated to "The Earth" or "The World". Our parents means a lot for most of us that we refer them as our world. The chorus is also a lullaby which children sings for their parents like Mom (Ma), Dad (Pa) it is time for you to rest for now, it is our time to give back. I really love watching their reaction videos because it's more than just watching their reactions. They appreciate the vocals, harmonies, adlibs, they check they lyrics, context of the song and try to understand the real meaning and possible underlying message of the song. I loved how they talked about creative control, being honest and genuine while providing high quality music. That is true, there are times that artists conform to the public demands due to the song's marketability and I love how SB19 do not just make music, they make music to deliver their message even if it may not be the most trendiest/mainstream topic for some. The song is really a play of words.... MAPA which means map but then we all realized as the song progressed that it really is short for Mama and Papa who, in essence, serve us our maps in charting our life from day 1 and for the remainder of our lives. Ma is also short for Mata (eyes), represented by our mothers who from the get-go served as our eyes to see the world from a lens of a mother who is caring and nurturing. Pa is also short for Paa (feet) who served as our feet as we take our first steps into the world, preparing us as we continue to draw the stories of our own very lives. While not everyone may have a good story to remember their parents by as I do have friends who are in that situation, however, they chose to see the silver lining in their stories and focused on the fact that their parents decided to bring them to this world. In that same sense, their mother and father still served as maps to their very existence. And for those who are still with their parents who have done nothing but care for you as their children, please enjoy everyday that you are with them. Not everyone is as lucky as you who has a parent or both. Hug them and say I love you as much as you can. At 40 years old, I can't believe but admit to myself that I am a low-key A'TIN because these boys' songwriting skills, musicality, originality, and their new take on Pinoy music, I can't help but admire their effort to elevate our artistry in the world stage.

OMG Waleska and Efra! I too love the song. It really shows the "roots" (Pablo - the leader said that the album will look back to their roots) of all Filipinos. The songs shows the culture of being a Family-oriented country. You're right, these days you don't get this kind of message-centric songs. The mainstream here in PH is about "HUGOT LOVE SONGS". MAPA is not just a song...it is a story. A brilliant masterpiece. The line distribution was fantastic. When Pablo asked Josh, Justin, Ken and Stell to write what they want to say to their parents, they went on to write what will be the lyrics of the song.
