that comment was made in 2005 (when MySpace was a thing)when he just started being a trainee....he told his friend that he miss home and something on the line that korea is gay(not too sure) ...so when 2pm debuted they sucdeeded instantly and of course JP was the most famous, so people started digging his SNS and they (probably antis )stumbled upon that comment and they translated it to korean and took it way out of context,literally in a way that would stir up the korean sentiments, it spread like wild fire and the protest was big. first he was put on a hiatus and later his contract was terminated for some other reason(because this is what Jyp ent says so),but it was soon made clear that his comment was taken out of context and he was able to make a comeback,thus happy ending

I know some idols have dated fans before, Junhyeok from day6 got cut from the group because people found out that he was dating a fan, the same happened to Kwangjin from N.Flying, Seo Taiji met his wife at a concert when she was a big fan, and there was a member of a smaller group that I don't remember the name that was also caught in a scandal of having "sexual relationships" with several international fans and even female staff members of the company lol I think it's harder for idols to date fans or consider dating fans because of the chances of people finding out are way higher cause you never know if the fan will end up telling the world they hooked up with that idol like that japanese model that slept with seungri and took pictures of him on bed and gave details of how having sex with him was to a big news magazine and the story was everywhere

I got carried away with my costume history knowledge (sorry not sorry), but you were close Waleska! The thing that a lot of "wedding ladies" wear is called a GARTER (the singular ruffled elastic circle that goes around the thigh). Before elastic, garters were tied around the leg (usually just below the knee) & have been used to hold up stockings since like the 14th century. In the 1920s when hemlines rose, garter belts became a thing (a belt around the waist with suspenders to attach to the stockings). Later pantyhose were invented, and nowadays garters/garter belts are more of a novelty lingerie. The significance of a husband removing his wife's garter at a wedding is tied to purity & that no one else but one's husband has seen/removed their garter bc garters are tied to chastity, etc. I personally think it's bullshit, but a lot of people have fun with it.

Jay Park wrote some ugly things about Korea back in 2005 and when he debuted with 2PM and they blew up it resurfaced. It took a lot for people to welcome him back to Korea. And it wasn’t only that but when his comments came out he apologized and decided just to leave Korea. He didn’t tell his members, he left the group he was suppose to lead. As he left, dozens of fans cried to him in the airport not to leave but he left. I think he got more hate towards him for that and as the members expressed their wish for their leader to return to the public and even jyp himself went to the USA to bring him back but he refused. Also 2PM made it even bigger without him, they decided they didn’t need a leader and would each guide themselves, winning the biggest award that year that they came back as only 6 members.
