It's a kazakh song 😲😲😲 He is introducing his own culture and homeland with a very sad song and old instruments. It's about a young man that is forced to go to the army and had to leave his old parents. He only sang it once before this version. I think, because this song is very sad

"Samal Tau" It is a traditional Kazakh song that talks about a soldier, who is forced to leave his home, to march to an unknown land and fight in a foreign war, known as "The Great War" or "First World War" . Between the agony of that instrument that is listened to, which hits the exact tear of one who is going to fight a war and separates himself from his affections and where only desolation and death await him. Our beloved Prince with that genuine feeling, turns a song of so much pain into a story that claims the life of every soldier who perished. Brilliant Dimash, you are not only an excellent singer and great performer, but you are also a great storyteller of your ancestors. It is a blessing to know that there is a possibly unique BEING, who has the gift of transmitting the word in all its range, doing it with the passion that you do. I can't stop thanking you and I ask God for the opportunity at some point in my life to feel your vibrant voice close to me. Take this comment because it accurately explains the video. greetings from Argentina

Samaltau Is a Mountain. The lyrics are from an unknown author. It is a popular song over a hundred years old. It talks about a soldier forced to live his mountain and his family alone to fight. The intro represents the sounds he finds in nature. Dimash and his voice make it awesome.

Tokyo Jazz Festival was scheduled on the 23rd of May (eve of Dimash’s Birthday).He is one of the artists participating, but unfortunately it wasn’t possible because of the pandemic.But instead, they did it online...doing their rendition at their own studio or at home.Dimash sang SAMALTAU (In my own understanding...this is a story of a young Kazakh man who was forced to be a soldier to fight in war for Russia during the time when long time ago Kazakhstan was under Russian regime.Missing his family and home,he wrote a letter about the hardship and probability of not be able to come back home.Unfortunately, the writer of that letter was unknown.)This story has been part of Kazakhstan history to be known by creating this song.Dimash felt honoured to sing this piece. The other song he sang here in Tokyo Jazz Festival was SOS. Another great analysis from you guys... thank you.

Actually not just one, but thousands of young Kazachs who were recruited by force during World War I. Not equipped with weapons, defenceless, no horses, nothing. The song describes how they walk back to their homeland, their mountains 'Samal Tau' not knowing if they would ever make it., their desperation after 15 days exhausting walk....... The instruments at the beginning sound like wild animals, and even nature and anything dramatic which you can imagine. Cheers from Vienna!

Hello from Kazakhstan!!! Here is the story of the song: 1916 ... The 1st World War was on. The Russian Tsar issues a decree on the draft in the army of Kazakhs aged 19-39 years. Samal Tau is the song of those recruits. The area where the recruits came from was called Samal Tau. This is in the North Kazakhstan region. The name of the author is not preserved in the memory of the people. The song has the following words: “We’re tired, very tired for 15 days, we almost reached Omsk. Samal Tau was left behind, where I was born and raised. An unknown soldier’s life lies ahead. Elderly parents remained at home. How will they live without me?" The song also contains information about the age of the author. He is a little more than two mushels. He was born in the year of the cow. This means that he was born in 1888 and he is 28 years old.

Dimash is singing about his country. Russia tried too take his country. They fought until Kazakhstan is the country it is now,it is apart of Aisa.Dimash loves his Ancestors and the knowledge of everything they went through all the blood spilled He loves his country, see Dimash didn't need to speak English you Knew it was about war,the instruments are very old,they are from time before technology. Dimash is a "prodigy "he is the best singer ever.There has never been a singer like Dimash,you cannot put him into any category or genre, this is because Dimash was born too Sing "Gifted by God"as he grew all he has done is perfected his instrument too perfection. I saw Dimash Live in New York on December 10th, at the Barclay center, it was so packed with all ages14-18, 18-25,25-50,-50-70 people from every part of the world every color,religion,height,culture before Dimash even came out too sing,there was this "Ethereal " feeling that filled the stadium, the love,the respect. I have no words that can ever explain how it was being with all people of our world who just felt love, peace and Dimash out from under the stage OMG,Dimash has a deep Love for God and believes that he should always have a pure heart and pure soul,to obey Gods Commands. This is why he is a "Prodigy "a Phenomenon, the best.I have served and lived in more than 85 countries, I have seen everything,I have felt everything,things that no human being should ever be put through, or go through, or witness.I will tell you that serving" God"my entire life is everything.I became a Nun at the age of sixteen years old, for thirty seven years country too country, and I became sick almost 2 years ago now.I saw a young man on this strange technology the cellphone that is against the rules for us because of temptation and the danger that it may bring into our lives,and because of how we live,what we do,we would not be able to know the difference. My father sent me this cellphone knowing that I would never,he felt being alone if something went wrong I neded it. I had no clue where I was on this phone I just saw him standing, I figured oh he is going to sing,so I just stayed where I was and waited I heard this voice,this sound. I closed my eyes and I felt every emotion of every experience of everything that I have seen ,and been,all of my experiences flashed through my mind while this handsome young man sang SOS,I understood that he too was chosen and called by "God". I cried and I cried,we are taught not to cry,I can honestly say that was the first time in thirty eight years that I shed any tears,not because I don't feel, it's the opposite,I feel everything for this reason we must put it away too many people depend upon us for their needs to survive, I just can't explain why this happened, I heard them say "Dimash" .I have listened since that day a year ago,honestly I only listen to Dimash, not because I don't like and appreciate other artist because I do,but there has never been anyone who can sing and enter into the core of your very soul,bring you to a place you haven't been in in touch with for some time pulling out raw emotion that you feel that ache in your heart,that literal feeling of pain. Dimash loves all people, when Dimash talks about his dears,it's everyone who loves him deeply and wants his dream too come too its Fruition,Dimashs dream came true once he stepped off of the plane on US soil,then preforming for us at the Barclay arena,N.Y.City. Thanks Sister Lori-Ann 🎚🕊♥️

Informations taken on Dimash video of his performance of Samal Tau in China... «Background story of the song: 1916 ... The 1st World War was on. A Decree of 1916 by Russian Empire was issued on mobilization in the army for rear operations male population from Kazakhstan and Central Asia, in age between 19 and 43 years. With the issuance of the decree increased resistance and excitement. Rebellion swept all Kazakhstan and grew into a national liberation movement.The main goal of the 1916 uprising was national and political liberation summarizing the whole previous Kazakh struggle people for freedom and independence. 1916 the song "Samal Tau" was born. Song expressed aspirations and difficult the situation of Kazakhs in recent years the existence of the Russian Empire. "Samal tau" is a place in the North Kazakhstan. The name of the author is not preserved in the memory of the people. The meaning of the song: "Go tired already 15 days, almost reached Omsk. Behind remained the native land where they were born and have grown. Elderly parents stayed at home, families. Worries who take care of them !? Unknown soldier is ahead a life. Should I return to my homeland !? "Múshel Zhas" is a model of calculating the cycle of age of Kazakh people. The cycle is 12 years. The first 12 years are childhood. At 13 years of age, puberty begins - and the "first cycle". The period from 13 to 24 years is youth. It is believed that from the age of 25 (second cycle) the production of growth hormone ceases, which is the end of physical youth. The period from 25 to 36 years is an adult period. Therefore, the 37th year (third cycle) is considered a period of psychological crises, revaluation of values. etc. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pICtYqNpqtN6maM

I love this song so very much. How beautiful is the Kasasch language? My heart is wrenched from my soul everytime I hear him sing this song. It is so evocative of the animals, of the stepps, and of the vaulted sky. The singer mourns the loss of his family, and of his home. It is a past that can never be retrieved. It is gone forever. The instrument is a Kobyz it's one of the most ancient string instruments having the ability to imitate animal and nature sounds. It was considered sacred, able to banish bad spirits, illness and even death. The flute one might be a sybyzgy (another ancient Kazakh instrument) - not really sure about that one.

There's a story with that instrument the Kobyz . A Prince had a Beautiful horse that was very loyal .One day the horse dies the prince was heartbroken .That night in his dream he sees his horse and the horse say to the prince don't be sad take the same of my tail and make an instrument from my tail and everytime you play that instrument you will be reminded of me i will always be with you.And that is how that instrument came to be .

Самалтау (romanisation: Samlatau) Kazakh folk song In 1916, during the second year of Great War (World War I), the Russian Empire carried huge human and property losses. The burden of restocking was laid on subject nations. About 49 million hectares of fertile land were forcibly taken away during the war from Kazakhs. The owners were driven out into the barren wastes. Taxes increased form 3 to 15 times. For the needs of war, livestock and property were mass requisitioned. And finally it came to "requisition" of people. On 24th of June 1916, the Russian Tsar issued a decree that a half-million Central Asians, aged 19-43, were to be mobilised for army and labour brigades in the war effort. This decree was the spark for the Kazakh uprising, although the underlying reason was Russian colonisation and the usurpation of Kazakh lands. Song "Samal Tau" tells about this sad events for young Kazakh in this difficult time. The song is about young, about 28 year old (a little over 2 mushels = 2 dozens born in the year of the cow = 1889) recruit walking from Samal village (close to Shalkar lake in West-North Kazakhstan) to Omsk, as he was forced to register for the Russian military according to a decree predating the revolt by a few months. He was walking for 15 days and almost reached Omsk. Самал (Samal) - a gentle breeze, a mountain breeze, bearing the evening or morning cool. The word "samal" itself is associated with something pleasant, bearing enjoyment. Therefore, Kazakhs woman often have a female name Samal. тау (Tau) - mountain, hill

Kobyz- the 2 strings instrument- is really an ancient instrument, goes back into history, into times when ancient nomadic tribes roamed the wide steppes between Caspian Sea and China. It is a mystic instrument, shamans back in times used to play it while going into state of trance when telling a fortune but mainly for healing.

I think the instrument with the strings is called Kobyz... search that and you will find it in google... The one that sound like water is a water stick they have it in Native American culture too and in Latin American music, the flute I am still searching my old books in music theory... He is amazing, this presentation is more than what people realize
@subidubiduda52934 жыл бұрын
The flute is sybyzgy. You are right, the string instrument is kobyz or kyl-kobyz.
@KitaBelle234 жыл бұрын
sup guys, your Dimash reactions are always thoughtful. he is singing Kazakh as are the instruments and is a Kazakh folk song about Kazakh soldiers marching and far from home. as is the case with most indigenous people, they're patriotic and Dimash definitely no exception. earthy sounding instruments as with other indigenous peoples around the world.

The tool is called Kobyz. Kobyz is the ancestor of the violin. Two strings, imposed on the kobyz, are twisted from horse hair. The total length of the tool is 60-73 cm. The double Cup of the resonator reflects the tengrian worldview of the nomads-the creators of kobyz-in which the dawn and sunset are reflected, and in two strings-the top and bottom of the universe.

For me personally my favourite song from Dimash, it's more personal, I'm longing for home and all the people back home, even though i don't understand a word he's saying, but you can feel it. The man can do no wrong.what a voyage.

He's actually done 2 songs for movies! One for a tv show... he actually did the Go Go Power rangers theme song lol. As far as the movies.. Across Endless Dimensions (recent) - for the movie Creators: The Past [not released due to Corona] kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5bJeop8nalrl5Y Battle of Memories (chinese movie) kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnfTZHmKZqmBmpY Also Dimash did not compose that song. Song is over 100 years old and has an unknown author. As far as the instrument... the two string "violin" is a Kobyz. The other one I'm unsure. Thanks :)

Dimash has millions of fans in China alone. Those fans has no access to Facebook, KZbin and Instagram.....so you don't see the volume around. Those Chinese fans uses Baidu,Weibo, Youku, etc........China's versions of FB, IG, YT.

Here he sings in Kazakh. You could hear the Russian language in Sinful Passion. Dimash is a native speaker of both languages, as are his parents. As is a significant part of the population of all of Kazakhstan.

When you said you hear eagles he comes from the land of eagles. He loves his country the actual physical space of his country more than you can imagine and the past is alive to him all of the sounds as you say I was in the wilderness very very beautiful and unlike anything I have ever heard in my life. Thank you both again beautiful reaction

Since August last year, I've asked myself that same question: who were my favourite singers before Dimash? The only answer I can come up with is this; out of 100s of really great artists I've heard in my life (from different parts of the world, and all different genres) I definitely have favourite songs. Dimash is the first singer ever I can say; ok yes, he is my favourite, the best, most complete (in talent and character) singer I have ever heard. And of course, quite a few of Dimash's songs made it onto my favourite songs list very quickly ❤️❤️

Translation from Kazakh, not Russian. Mountain breeze Mountain breeze, my amazing country, my endless lake, What days await me as a soldier, You keep coming into my mind from time to time, My amazing homeland, where I was born and raised I wasn't riding, I was walking, Even slower than walking, Been strolling for 15 days In the direction of Omsk I'm at the age of two cycles, the year of the cow By the will of Fate, I went farther away Mountain breeze, my amazing country, you're left behind From the hollow field, we are the only ones I had parents, Of progressed age, Since this song was written, It's been 16 years. Mountain breeze, my amazing country, my endless lake, What days await me as a soldier
