The thing is, I wouldn't say these kind of videos are truly reflective of what was popular throughout kpop at the time because many of these views came after the release years of these songs or have been mass streamed by fans. For example, Something by Girl's Day is genuinely one of the biggest kpop hits of 2014 but will never be on a list like this. The song Some by Soyou and Junggigo was the highest selling single in Korea that year, it was EVERYWHERE, but it will never be on a list like this. Same with Energetic by Wanna One in 2017.

Oh my I agree, SOME was so freaking huge! In the recent years, I remember Winner's REALLY REALLY being played in almost all variety shows as well as Shaun's Way Back Home. Those songs were VIRAL even though VIRAL was still not a thing back then. 🤣

iKON still do music. They left YGE last Dec 2023 and all signed to 143. The members were able to get all the rights/trademarks. Their last group release was last year with their TAKE OFF album. They did their 1st WORLD TOUR after that. Now, since one by one they are entering military, they are now focusing on their solo activities. I really dislike these type of videos. Fans get so upset when their favs are not listed and you never know how they got their numbers from to know for sure what is accurate. And just because the video has a lot of views doesn't mean it is the most loved or popular song. Most of the time these fan made videos is bias and made because the persons favorite group is in it. It isn't a true fair reputation on the most popular. It is really hard to get a very accurate number on videos or songs because of all the different app platforms out there. I never use spotify or Itunes when I listen to my music. But I listen to my favorite k-pop groups and idols every day through other stream apps.

I know for sure these arent the views on the year when it was released. I know for sure that fans of some of these groups went searching their old songs & played it when the group already gained recognition. I've been a KPOP stan since 2009 and as far as I know BTS gained recognition internationally like huge was just around 2019, some already know them but during their early yrs, BIGBANG, SNSD, SUJU, 2NE1 and other 2nd gen were still active those yrs. So the video is not accurate at all when they say those were the views during its release.

Ever wonder why bts songs has high views despite being unknown during 2013-2014-2015? Fans restreaming old videos when they got the so called “awards” year 2015. They got “recognized” in 2015. I was there during that chaotic time when VIPs found out BH always using Bigbang hashtags in their old mvs then their fans campaigning in all VIP groups to support them coz they were BB fanboys. During that period boygroups neck to neck was BB and EXO. Then following years VIP accounts for voting were stolen and discrediting BB for their idols success. They were not that famous even in SK back then. The YT streaming made it for them and as the rest are awful history of Kpop YT streams where their fans are all about YT views. I can freely say these things coz I was in that battlefield. I saw how it happened back then. But alas, misinformations was widely spread to make them clean idols and fans which is hypocrite coz their fandom is the most delusional and storyteller.

Honestly, including BTS videos in 2013-2016 are a little sneak because they got super popular when they went international. They were nugus in 2013 and got recognition in 2015 in korea then went major popular in 2016. So these views were not really reflective of how big those groups are. They got the views after 2016 (plus remember these are not purely organic views. they do ad views)

i am 2nd gen kpop lover.......that gen music is quite different from the recent generation of kpop....its been 4-5 years since I have left following kpop songs/groups except listening to some recent ballad songs once in a while......and also I don't think these views count can actually tell what was popular back in 2009 or 2010.....like in 2011 INFINTE BE MINE was such a huge hit in Korea or in 2010 CNBLUE I'M LONER......or not a single T-ARA song in 2009 to 2012 in this list
