As a human (definitely not a dolphin), i think your hate towards dolphins is unjustified. Dolphins are always super nice and would never attempt to harm or kill any humans.

I just realized Sato is a play on "Satoshi", Ash's Japanese name. They really did not make the pokemon reference very subtle.
