So cool to see a full walk-around of the car. Thanks!

Awesome video! More like this pretty please!! 😁😁😁 Would love to learn more about how to track/race prep a car, esp. the things that aren't just off the shelf bolt-on (e.g., air damn, dash frame, barriers inside the engine bay).

Damn. 144 at BW is fast af. With only 300hp.
@mlcollingwood7 жыл бұрын
Do you run brake ducts? Good to see a 'low' horsepower car doing so well. Anybody can drive a high horsepower car fast, it takes skill to drive a 'slow' car fast. It is all about keeping momentum.
@949RacingSuperMiata7 жыл бұрын
We didn't have time to fit custom ducts to the SLB front end. Just relied on good pads and the fact that we only ran 1-2 hot laps in succession We normally run a 2.5" duct from the bumper opening for the radiator. Working on a 3" 3D duct system for 2018.
@mlcollingwood7 жыл бұрын
So the ducts would be inside the mouth and not on the front of the bumper? I'm looking at doing the same to reduce drag.
@949RacingSuperMiata7 жыл бұрын
Yup. Don't focus on the the direction as much as pressure differential. Once the air mass is inside the duct tubing, it needs to have as few bends as possible to maintain velocity which determines total mass flow. The air entering the duct can be any angle as long as the pressure differential is high, you will feed the duct well. On car with poor routing or high CFM demands, a Y duct with a fan in one leg is viable. The Y duct is used in NASCAR although they use it to cool the wheel which changes air pressure which changes handling balance. Clever lot those.

This is freakin' rad! Any plans to do this sort of walk-around for Vegas?
@949RacingSuperMiata4 жыл бұрын
Vegas is half torn apart now during the K24 swap. We'll do a walk around when its done.

For that valve cover venting. Is the internal baffling modified?
@949RacingSuperMiata Жыл бұрын
Nope. BP4W and they don't suffer as much from crankcase pressure and venting. Just a single Moroso catch can with petcock that would typically fill with E85 during warm up. Drain the thing after warmup then good for the day. The BP6D we won Superlap with in 2018 was a different story. Radium separator system draining back to oil pan was the only way to manage things at 30psi

what exact rear fenders are those? I like it

What lift is that? Are the arms low enough to get under the car?
@949RacingSuperMiata2 жыл бұрын
A Bendpak we installed new in 2009. Low enough.

Are you running drop spindles? Whats your pinch weld height?

Unless otherwise specified in the build thread linked or this video, it's basically stock. 4.5" on this particular setup.

Emilio, Is the splitter just flat underneath with the fences on the side?
@949RacingSuperMiata5 жыл бұрын
On this one, yes. In 2018 we put a few small diffusers in the splitter. More details on miataturbo.net

How competitive are the 1.6L NA's in super miata? Or should I get an NB?
@949RacingSuperMiata5 жыл бұрын
B6 engine not allowed in Supermiata. Please email us or visit our Facebook page for more info. The car in this video is a Time Attack build, not for the Maxxis Supermiata Cup series

S1 regulations are 2300# with driver. The SLB build ended up weight about the same once we added the heavier nose.

Your heatshield for your manifold/turbo is made with what material and the thickness
@949RacingSuperMiata6 жыл бұрын
Aluminum, .080 probably. You can also add a layer of insulation on inside of the shield to reduce heat outside even further. Standard stuff, nothing fancy.
