Mate… that’s a setup to be very proud of ! 👌🏻 Maybe a dumb question but have you done something to make your kings air compressor stop when it pressures up ? I have one but I don’t think it stops like that at a high pressure. Maybe it does 🤷‍♂️
@chappelle121
@chappelle121 6 ай бұрын
If its a kings thumper max dual compressor, it should have an inbuilt pressure switch, you don't have to do anything it just cuts out when it reaches a certain pressure, which if your trigger is closed and it's not leaking anywhere it should reach that pressure very quickly and just cut out until you open the trigger or whatever again which will turn it back on.

Depends where you are, here in Perth Western Australia there are definitely no issues, a very common early mod for most 4x4 owners here. Most 4x4's here have bull bars here. You will need to check with your local authority on local laws and regulations.

@chappelle121
@chappelle121 9 ай бұрын
It was so long ago i don't remember to be honest, wood i would guess around 18mm. Attached to the handles by getting some threaded eye bolts that goes into the same thread as the handles. then another eye bolt on the shelf, and then a turnbuckle that goes between those eye bolts. and back the back just bolted to the cargo barrier.

haha, yeah with the mods and weight I have added it averages around 16L/100km. It's not great but it does have 180L fuel tank so has a rough range of 1100km which is pretty decent. unleaded is also cheaper than diesel so cost per km is actually not far off my previous D4D hilux. The extra power of the V6 is certainly very nice and other running costs are generally cheaper too. I like both, I did go the V6 with this car just because it was a cheaper purchase price than the Diesel equivalent on the used market, but now I don't think I'd swap given the opportunity if the cars were the same price as each other with this particular car. In saying that, I am considering a 2016+ Hilux for my next build which are all diesel so just goes to show, i'll take whatever! haha

Firstly: before you put allll that extra weight and bling on, did you upgrade your suspension?. I assume not. You will be near GVM before you know it with these cars. Trust me I know because that was the first thing I did to my 120 and boy does is handle better with the extra weight. I eventually removed abit of unnecessary weight but still getting up there.

Hey bro, first of all have to say great job bro.... tidy, clean, functional, just great mods.... secondly how you 2nd battery setup goes? I've been told AGM does not like the heat from the bonnet nevertheless I was thinking how it does performed if someone install it there.... how is your experience with that battery... thanks mate for sharing.... Nice job!....
@chappelle121
@chappelle121 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah you see that a fair bit, AGM's ideally should not be in the engine bay, however for me I didn't have another good place to put it, but it is working just fine... I run my lights, fridge, charging phones etc... while camping and in the morning the voltage is still like 12.6V so plenty of juice by morning. the DC DC charger I use gives it a nice full charge and its temperature compensated - it has a temperature probe to help it charge efficiently so if its hot it wont pump so much current into it I guess. (its a Projecta Inteli-carge) On the Prado the battery is right behind the headlight too so I don't think it gets that hot, there's probably some decent airflow there.

How do the Titan Drawers fit with that full cargo barrier? Looking at a barrier myself but wasn’t sure on fitment with the drawers. Is it a Toyota barrier?
@chappelle121
@chappelle121 2 жыл бұрын
The barrier is DIY, its actually from a mitsubishi van that I got for free, i just cut the bottom off it and mounted the cargo barrier itself to the back of the drawers, thats what gives me a bit of room for the water bladder to fit between the barrier and the seats. Probably with a proper barrier you wouldnt have the room to do that and maybe the drawers would interfere with mounting it. You could also look at a kaon pet barrier or something, they only go half way.

Thanks mate! Yeah have had a look at the Kaon ones. Look the good but a bit out of my price range. How did you go about attaching the bracket to the holder, would u do anything differently if u did it again? I want to make sure it’s as strong as possible

depending how many wires you want to run up there, the best and most popular way is probably up the side of the windscreen, you can often tuck them into the side weather strip. In my case I had so many wires i also have them coming out through the door seals which I wouldn't say is ideal.. If i did it again i'd do it neater up the front or back. Best to have a google of this and look at some pics.
