I need to make a couple of corrections to what I said about the 2024 model upgrades about 5 minutes into the video. I said that BMW was increasing the engine display from 753 cc in the 2023 models to 800cc in the 2024 models. What I meant to say was that the engine displacement was going from 853 cc in the 2023 models to 895 cc in the 2024 models. Also, BMW actually reports the F750 hp as 77 hp, not 87 hp as I said in video. Sorry for the slip ups!
@dsmpampis8 ай бұрын
I have a question. Why you went for the F750 and not for the F800? I am about to buy one but I’m thinking to give 1000€ more and go for the F800. Enjoy and ride safe
@GARamblinMan8 ай бұрын
@dsmpampis the BMW F800 is the new 2024 model that is replacing the F750 and it was not out yet when I bought my 2023 model in January. It’s out now and well worth the extra $1,000 I think. It’s a little lighter, has a bigger motor and slightly higher HP and torque and comes standard with hand guards now. Everything else is pretty much the same as the 2023 models. I really don’t think the average person could tell the difference in the motors - only about a 50 cc increase. But since it’s the newest model being sold now, I would definitely buy it unless I found a killer deal on a leftover 2023 750 model. Either way you’ll be getting a fantastic motorcycle. I really thought the price was going to increase a lot more than it did from the 2023 models to the 2024 models given the changes but it turns out to be just over $1,000 in the US. Good luck and thanks for watching!

@@dsmpampis i read the new 800gs is a 750gs frame wtih just 10 hp more. better tft now. I was hoping for cruise control and a reason to upgrade from my 2019 that is too top heavy for me.

Beautiful bike. Congratulations . Going on 67 myself, I understand the need to downsize. My Springfield is beginning to become to heavy for me. You've given me much food for thought. I wish you many happy and safe miles.
@GARamblinMan11 ай бұрын
This motorcycle is much lighter than my Harley-Davidson Heritage and your Springfield for sure. If you’re like me, you love the bigger touring bikes, but as we get older they are just too much weight for moving around the garage and low speed maneuvering. I just decided it was time to downsize and considered a lot of motorcycles including the Harley Nightster and Indian Scout models but I wanted a different type of motorcycle so I bought this BMW adventure bike. I’ll do a video soon and go into these reasons more in depth. Thanks for watching and ride safe!

Congratulations. I went a different way. I still have my 2022 Heritage. I traded in my 2021 MT07 for a 2023 ZX4RR. I raise a lot of eye brows when people sees a 70 year old man getting off of it. This is the first bike I ever had with a quick shift also. It's so much fun. I hope you enjoy your new bike. It's a nice looking bike.

Hello GARamblinMan greetings from Northern Kentucky. Congrats on your retirement and the new bike. I would have recommended the c50 as a lighter bike but, I see you have already been down that road. I am going down that road now (thanks to you as the top youtuber along with Pastor Les from "Cruising the narrow road" and Shaun from Srkcycles respectively.) Enjoying your videos immensely. Thanks and keep up the great videos. Also thanks for keeping the c50t in the intro and ending. Wallace

I’ve moved on, but that bike was one of the favorite motorcycles I’ve ever owned. Loving the new BMW F750 GS and look forward to sharing more rides on that bike. Thanks for the kind comments and glad you enjoy the channel. I really appreciate it. Thanks again!

I just picked up a 2022 Triple Black version and it is a great bike so far. I am a little partial to your white one though, lol. Mine still has a bunch of warranty left, which is good because it does not want to start in 1st gear. Very annoying, but otherwise a wonderful riding experience. Thanks for the video!

I actually liked the Triple Black color scheme but just decided to go with the white dice I’ve had two black bikes in a row the last 10 years. Good luck with getting the starting problem fixed. One good thing is the 3-yr BMW warranty. I love mine so far. I’m coming up on the 6,000 mile service and so far so good. Thanks for watching!

@@GARamblinMan Problem fixed! turns out it wasn't a problem. A slight adjustment to the lever solved the issue. And boy that cruise control is nice.

I use the cruise control all the time. I’ll never own a bike without it. That’s one reason I ruled out the Triumph Tiger 660 and the Kawasaki Versys 650 when I was looking. Have fun in the new bike. We have got a great all around motorcycle for sure.

Good to hear from you again. Congratulations on the new bike it looks good. Congratulations on retirement. I have been retired since May 1st 2017. When someone asked me how I like retirement I always laugh and say if I would have know it was this great I would have retired straight out of high school.😂😆😉 Do you still have your heritage? Even though I ride an Electra Glide the heritage is still one of my favorite Harleys. Be careful, ride safe.
@GARamblinMan11 ай бұрын
Retirement is pretty awesome I have to admit. I sold my Heritage and got more for it than I paid for this BMW, so it was a win for me at least financially. I just couldn’t see having 2 bikes and the Heritage not getting ridden as much. I was ready to downsize and I miss the Heritage but I’m comfortable with my decision. Thanks for watching and ride safe!

So far so good but I only have 500 miles on it. 600 mile service is coming up. I’ll offer more opinions on it as I get more miles in the saddle. I’m really looking forward to going on some dirt and gravel forest service roads around the North GA mountains near me, but I need to add some hand guards, under engine skid plate and maybe some crash guards. Ah, new bike and so many things to add! Thanks for watching and I’ll be interested to hear your take on the bike if you get a chance to test ride one. The 2024 models are named the F800 GS since they increased the engine displacement up a little to 900 cc, but it’s essentially the same motorcycle. Ride safe and enjoy the new Indian!

Congratulations. May you have many miles of smiles. Did you feel like you needed to downsize in weight from the Heritage Classic? I considered the 700GS as my first bike but went with a VStrom650 instead. I've always regretted that decision but could find myself on a 750GS sometime later in life if I feel like I need to downsize to that size.

I did feel the need to downsize from the Heritage. I’m getting older and that bike was just getting a little too heavy for my liking. I loved it and it was a great touring bike out on the road but it was just time for me to do this. I considered smaller bikes like the Versys 650 and VStrom but the smaller bikes, while less expensive, did not have the features of this BMW F750 GS. For the money I think it’s a good deal.

Thanks for the nice comments. This is an awesome bike and I realized my Heritage would probably sit in my garage more than it should and paying for the insurance, taxes and upkeep on it was just something I didn’t want to do if I wasn’t riding it regularly. So I sold it in one day after listing it for a lot more than I paid for this new BMW, so it’s a win for me and a win for the guy who bought it who got a great bike with all the options and upgrades I added for a lot less than a new Heritage. I loved that motorcycle and I’ll do a video soon on the whole decision making process I went through in buying this new motorcycle and selling my Heritage. Thanks for watching!

They increased the engine displacement up to about 900 cc and made the bike a little lighter with a plastic fuel tank now. Not really that much different than the 2023 but just a little more horsepower and torque. I’m fine with the power the 2023 has. Works for me.
