Definitely going to start purging my gauges that way now makes sense, but I think majority of us are just use to or taught to purge the hose instead of our manifolds .

Thats how non condensibles get in the system. Moist morning & guages sit open in the truck overnight with water droplets inside brass manifold. 1st morning job , needs really good purge.

Thanks For the Credit on the vid ! 😉👍 Good vid Rook. Get yourself a Fieldpiece 4 valve manifold and purge everything out the vac. Port. U get a really easy purge that way. Much better / faster purge too. Like # 313.

Great job! Unfortunately were im located in buffalo NY many "techs" would have just shot 404 in and called it a day. It pays to verify and reverify.

Great video man! I don't work on too many walk ins, but all the WIC I've worked on have been R-22 and all WIF have been 404a. I shouldn't get too comfortable with my rule of thumb.

Always gotta double check things. It's good you caught it though and not afraid to say you make mistakes, honestly making mistakes is how we learn. Most of what I do is computer stuff but I still have to double check things so I don't screw it up. Trying to put a Point of Sale system together so I can make a few bucks on the side, bought parts and looked at a board today and was planning to toss 4 sticks of ram in it. Didn't double check and system only supports 2 sticks... Derp move but was able to swap a few things and will just stick the 4 sticks in a different system and make it work. I always try to write stuff down on the inside of a case as soon as I open them up so I can do a quick look and not think about it.

I purge my hoses starting from the can. Crack open then can, leave it up right, purge gas through suction hose. Flip the can upside down, purge liquid out of the high side hose. This way you know your fully "primed". Guys out there like to over complicate their purging methods. Again, if you can fill a water balloon, you can purge a set of refrigeration hoses/ manifolds

With that style gauge set up, purging through the recovery hose would in fact purge the manifold. Then you purged high low just like you originally did and it would be fine.... am I wrong? To lol

Hi man, nice job, just for question, why not close the valve on the deposit, and inject the fluid after the deposit? It would be much faster and will be store on the deposit whidout you need to worry, couse gas will go to expansion valve and the compressor is safe. Nice job

@epicone2449

If you can yea but it’s not required. 410A runs really high pressures while running, so if you put on your gauges or off while system is on it will spray on u a little. Always use gloves.

Still would have to recover any r-22 in the system , replace the filter drier and pull a vacuum before adding any r-22 replacement. And the evaporator is most likely going to be replaced
