It's Time to Leave This Awesome Thailand Town

I'm currently in the beautiful town of Phrae, Northern Thailand. I've had a great time exploring this non-touristy gem, and it's time to move on to my next adventure.
What better way to say goodbye to Phrae than with a walk around the town's main Saturday night walking street? This market is a vibrant hub of activity, where you can find everything from local crafts and souvenirs to delicious street food.
The people of Phrae are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I had the chance to chat with several locals, and they were all eager to share their love for their hometown. It was clear that they take great pride in their community and are passionate about preserving their culture.

I remember you saying something like that about Chiang Rai. I am similar to you I like the quite and you could say privacy but I like most being around a Thai culture and Thai people thats why CR ticks all the boxes. I loved Chiang Mai it had a great vibe and the older expats came across as being cool but too many tourists. I live on Koh Phangan and it sometimes drives crazy its paradise with lots of faults but we cant wait for two weeks to head to CR stopping in Phrae. Looking forward to Nan stay safe brother on those roads.

Yes, I think I've fallen for a few places, Chiang Rai was one of them. Chiang Rai wasn't the same when I returned though. Lamphun is my top but Phrae is somewhere I want to come again. I agree that Chiang Mai can get to touristy these days, I'm looking to move out the city in the future. Thanks Colin.

Ive always heard the flaming balloons called Chinese lanterns not sure of their proper name, glad the temple roof was not set on fire. Farang spotted at 10:50 such a peaceful little place, a nice getaway for sure.

Btw, at 4:20 I noticed the man with the blue shirt that says 'Manu Resort Phare' but I couldn't find any listings for it, maybe it only exists on that shirt but if you Wayne or anyone knows if it's an actual resort or hotel it might be one to check out.

Wayne...I do tip. To the Thais. The average wage for them is $300-500/month. And maybe 7 days/week. And there are no or very little social/govt. safety nets. So just the family to help with an emergency. But a warning from "Buzzing"...That 10 percent.service charge on many bills usually goes to the owner. So if you do tip give it to the server. Anyway, I would like to give Wayne a tip because he helps us get thru the day. Thanks.

Thanks Lars, yes it was very refreshing not seeing any westerners. Nothing against them but nice to get away sometimes. Phrae has been a really good place to recharge the old batteries.
