Today, Steve dives deep into this 1969 Plymouth Belvedere that has undergone a no expense spared, ground up restoration. Now powered by a 451ci Big Block engine, mated to an A33 4 speed manual transmission with a Dana 44 Positrac rear diff. 3.54 Ratio!
This rust free California body has been refinished in Sunfire Yellow, and features a new black interior, pistol grip shifter, Edelbrock aluminum heads, TTi performance exhaust, Redline tires with steel wheels, front disc brakes, and chrome/brightwork.
The body retains most of its original sheet metal which has been upgraded with a lightweight 6-pack hood. All of the finest components were sourced on the extensive build of this Belvedere.
This Belvedere looks, runs, and drives outstanding!

Gorgeous Belvedere. I like that A12 RR look. Looks really badass. Nice job.

No, this was not made in St. Louis, MO, it was made in Maywood, CA. With the VIN, we win: R for Belvedere, L for low price class, 21 for two door sedan, B for 225 CID Slant Six, aka "Leaning Tower of Power", 9 for 1969 model year, E for Maywood (Los Angeles) CA assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Maywood plant operated from 1932 to 1971 and was located at 5800 Eastern Avenue and Slauson Blvd. The Ford Maywood plant was across the street. The Chrysler Maywood plant is now an office building that was built/renovated in 1974. Fenton (St. Louis), MO assembled vehicles would have a "G" instead of an "E" in that VIN digit. It appears that they were going for code "Y2" Sunfire Yellow exterior paint which was a Plymouth paint code for 1969.

Life in Cali … the good life…. with intact vintage car bodies , rust free hardware, frames and often superior paint+- passed down and exchanging hands over multiple decades Must be nice

This guy did what I've wanted to do for years. No one can afford a "real" RR, so make yourself one. Find a base model Belvedere, 6 cyl, or a 318, w/ auto. Yank that, and replace w/ 383, the most common BB, a 4 spd, and a Dana 60 rear end. And Voila, a homemade super car clone.

You should give more engine info and dyno readout, not many people going to build and engine like that and not see actual output, some 440's are stroked to over 500 but thats a nice piece depending on price

Good eye. I remember my Dads 69 Satellite 2 door. He was checking something under the hood while it was running and "BING!" he nicked his finger pretty good on the blade. Didn't loose it, but blood all over. Good ol' days!
