Brant try this for red sauce instead of plain ketchup: ( at your discretion: add ketchup, worcestershire sauce, horseradish, tabasco and lime and mix it; optional is purple onions and cilandro. Enjoy. Already subs!

Croaker are amazing to eat, some say better than striper. In the Chesapeake Bay you can catch croaker that size 2-at-a-time with blood worms and a double drop rig. Pompano rig would probably work well too

I grew up catching croaker and catfish in the Chesapeake Bay. We used to fry up little nuggets and put them on Hawaiian rolls with a little tatar. It's still my favorite seafood meal I've ever had.

I am only posting this because I did not see any similar responses. Ribbonfish are an excellent white meat with surprisingly good yield. I caught some in Louisiana recently. The skin is edible. Fillet them like a Spanish mackerel (No pin bones though) season one side and then roll them up into a "Pinwheel" (quoted from EliasVFishing) then stick a toothpick through them. Fry them or bake. Excellent fresh. I rarely freeze fish.

You guys call them ribbon fish. We call them hairtail. We used catch them up to 6 or 7 feet long, average between 4 or 5 feet. One of the best eating fish in the world. Clean their shine off with sand or a Brillo pad, cut them into 4 or 5 inch pieces and fry them in butter, fantastic!

Hi Brant! I'm originally from Southern California. A lot of Mackerel are caught off the piers, but a lot of them are used for bait. The blue Pacific Mackerel have a dark red bloody meat, and a strong taste. So, out of curiosity I just researched the difference between the East coast Macs and our Pacific ones. It turns out the ones you get are white meat. Do you think they would taste the same? I also read that they are best with a spicy sauce. Probably to cover up the strong flavor.

Pensacola dont charge to park. But in Orange Beach / Gulf Shores...there will be a pay to park machine everywhere you go. I dont care if its a 5 car parking lot, a place behind a building, a small walk through to the water, or a posted keep out. The pier and predido pass is the only land fishing.

Brant, all your fishing video "competitors" like to flaunt their supporting companies -- from rods, to reels, to boats, to resorts that give them freebies and discounts -- but you talk fishing. Then today I saw you fillet those fish with that Dexter blade. I have a variety of Dexters -- keep them sharp and they will out flex, out cut and out skin just as good as any this brand, or that brand knife that anyone else is pushing. Keep being real!

Question: Does the Parking Fee at GSP include a Blanket License? Or do you need to have an Alabama Saltwater Permit? I only ask because I'm an Alabama resident. With only a Freshwater Fishing endorsement.

I'd never leave my cart so far away. Here in Texas the meth heads walk up and down the piers looking to steal whatever they can. I had a couple walk by while my wife was going to the bathroom. They pointed at her rod and tackle. They moved to pick up her gear and I had to ward them off.
