PRO TIP: To figure out the directions without a compass: When the sun is out (except noon, when the sun is right above), what you can do is stand in the sun. If it's morning, then your shadow will point west (because the sun rises from the east. If it's evening, your shadow will point east (bc the sun is about to set in the west.
@jasonwillows52394 жыл бұрын
Better tip, if you align the hour hand on your watch with the sun, then half the distance from the hour hand to 12 o'clock is pointing southward. So if it's 4 PM, you can position your body so that the hour hand is pointing towards the sun, then the imaginary hand at 2 o'clock will point south. Of course, this only works in the northern hemisphere.

*I solved the mystery up until the Hotel they said was probably the most random place they have started a video!* So, you guys started from the border of Luxembourg, and went East until reaching Luxembourg city. Then, once at Luxembourg city, you planned to continue going East until reaching Remich, where you could have stopped at “Hotel de l’ Esplanade”, Right at the boarder of Germany. How you ended up in Saarbrücken.. could possibly be this. You guys happened to pass by multiple signs, One of which was the sign by the High way, it claimed that you would reach Remich in 20km If you followed E29. (7:58) As you were walking, you passed by the man who was heading to the Luxembourg Airport, which is North/ East The highway... So you guys were heading East towards Remich from the E29 Highway. As you were walking, you hit the Gamble (8:35) And you chose to head towards Itzig, which is where you went from going East to Remich, to going straight South to Itzig! However, you did not go directly South to Itzig, you Headed South-East until eventually arriving at Contern. (9:32) (10:32) Your at Highway 234, Milbech, and Milbech is a Luxembourg Bus station! (11:00) Once again, you’ve found your way to Highway E29, In Roedt, And you were Headed South, bit by bit. (11:15) 4km left until reaching Remich, so you were 1km past Assel, still on Highway E29. (11:23) So you guys passed the pigs, which according to google maps is in Bous, Luxembourg. (11:38) Sign says Mondorf was 9km East of Remich so, you should have made it to the correct place. I found this exact location on google maps, signs and all. (11:46) I found that exact hotel on Google maps, It is called “Domaine La Forêt” and one night cost $163 of whatever the currency in that city is. Considering I found the hotel, and a picture of the room you stayed in, there should be no reason for you to end up in Saarbrücken. If you ended up there through the Highways, you could have easily followed Highway 10, or 419, into Highway 8, then you could have went down Highway 8 until merging to Highway 620, and then take Highway 620 until reaching Saarbrücken! (13:54) Yes, I found the hotel you are in there. It is called “Hotel Stadt Hamburg” Its a $110 in whatever currency they have, for one stay. And it is extremely close to the city center. Sooo.. your definitely going to have some fun in Saarbrücken. Mystery. Solved.

@user-rb9nq7rm5n6 жыл бұрын
I think they just turned location off and didn't use Google map, but still needed phone to check the time and messages and stuff.. and you also need a phone in an emergency or for translation purposes.. so "turned the phone off" doesn't mean literally turned it off.
@divyatagarwal8846 жыл бұрын
Check 5:52 for a map
@user-rb9nq7rm5n6 жыл бұрын
No, he said "I just realized I kept saying we need to go west but we (actually) need to go east".. so that's not enough proof that he was checking Google map on his phone or that he was even staring at a phone.. but certainly it could be.. or it could be he just gazed down the city from that high point and realized the east/west thing..
@user-rb9nq7rm5n6 жыл бұрын
0:40 he's saying that people rely on "phones and maps" but they decided to turn the "phones" off.. so logically reading a paper map I guess is okay (that is assuming what it shows at 5:55 is actually a paper map). But the title of this video is "without a map" in which case I believe refers to Google map.. plus I'm not sure if it was one of those two people or some Yes Theory team member/editor that posted this video and named it.. but in any case, it didn't seem that they were even actively reading a paper map anyway, otherwise he would've not have figured out the east/west thing that later in the journey... anyhow, I don't really believe they actively cheated or this is all scripted.

I am in awe of how you seek out these challenging experiences just to see what will happen and what you will learn and how you as people will handle them. This video gives a very strong, concrete example of the innate wisdom of just keeping moving whether that is in your mental, emotional, spiritual, or physical state of self. Its really a very cool message and it comes across so stunningly clear! There are so many beautiful lessons in your videos that anyone can sit down to watch and apply to their own lives. Does no one know how to work out their cardinal directions using the sun anymore? I know the sun isn't always out but there is a good few times where it was out and was casting shadows. 1. What hemisphere are you in? If you are above the equator, then the sun is in the South. Therefore, at midday (or half way between sunrise and sunset to be more exact), all shadows cast by the sun point directly North. The opposite is true if you are below the equator. 2. What time of day is it? If it is in the morning, no matter your hemisphere, the sun is in the East. If it is the afternoon, the sun will be in the West. 3. What direction are you going? Combine step one and two to work out what direction you are going. For example, if you are in the Northern hemisphere (above the equator) and it is morning, the shadows cast by the sun will point North-West. North at midday, and North-East in the afternoon. If you are in the Southern hemisphere, you simply replace every instance of 'North', with 'South'. So if it is morning, the shadows cast by the sun will point South-West. South at midday, and South-East in the afternoon. I hope this interests someone, you may never find the need to use this information, but it may come in handy at some point. I know I've needed to use that knowledge when I've been lost with no charge on my phone/no signal.
