I used to live in San Antonio. Haven't been in this mall for at least 8 years. This brings back so much memories I had hanging out at this mall. I remember the book store on the top level. If I remember correctly, there was also a McDonald's on the second floor away from the food court.

@@Ulalafanboy The bookstore on the 2nd floor was B. Dalton's. It was unique because they had an upstairs. There was a Walden Books on the first floor. That McDonald's was iconic. Lots of 80s decor, plenty of seating & plants. I think the pet store was close to it.

That was my "hangout mall" in the 80s. Lots of good memories and stories about that place. I miss the theater entrance area. Aladins Castle first store on left right next to Lucas pizza right across hall from old Ingram six screens, all gone....time marches on. Back when you could only get Chic'fil'a at a mall.

Sounded like a good time back then :]

Do you remember when that Aladdin's Castle got the Dragon's Lair arcade cabinet with the monitor on top. Did you know Richard? He was one of the employees at AC back then. What games do you remember? I remember Hard Driving, NARC, Real Ghostbusters, Afterburner, Shinobi, Track & Field, SF II & Mortal Kombat. They also had a cool cocktail cabinet skill crane that you'd look down on to position the claw. Hopefully you remember some more games.

I remember hanging out at this mall in the early 80's when we would go visit relatives in San Antonio, I thought that was the coolest place on earth at the time the first two story mall I had ever seen, glad it's still open a lot of malls are closing down

I believe the scene in the 1997 Selena movie when she is looking for her Grammy dress was filmed at Ingram Mall..

I grew up shopping at this mall in the 80s and early 90s. Haven't been there since 1996. I'm surprised it's still there. So many malls are gone.

8:13 That corridor didn't exist back in the 80s/90s. There was just more food court restaurants. Threw me for a loop when I went for a visit decades later.

@@utubepunk they added that extension somewhere between 2018-pre Covid 2020. It was there when I went in Feb. 2020.

I've been in that mall a million times in the late 80s and early 90s. It's so gutted to hell and back to modernize it that I don't even recognize anything except the inside entrance to JCPenny. They even tore out the fountain that used to be in the center.

History fades fast. Main thing I miss from malls in the 90s is the arcade's.

I think that VisionWorks used to be Pearle Vision. It's amazing how 3 + decades later & it's still a place selling glasses. Must be in the contract or something.

Fist job while at Jay was working at the brand new Joske's as a contingency salesman. Basically ment I only worked when a full time or part timer could not work. Seriously small paychecks. Did OK the summer it opened and Christmas but that was about it. High Class mall back then.

I used to live in San Antonio. Is the glass elevator not in use anymore? Or was it not operating because of the pandemic? I used to love riding it.
@MellowManWalks7 ай бұрын
I didn’t happen to notice any elevator in use when I was there and I remember the escalator wasn’t operating as well

I was active duty at Lackland AFB in the early 80s. This was where I'd hang out. Took a few dates here to the movies. Is the video arcade still there?
