I had the Machine Man band play another song all the way threw and KZbin put a copy right strike on it, so I had to let them edit out that 3 minutes of video. Maybe if I had not sung along with it, the youtube computer might not have figured it out?

Great stuff, thanks for posting- Please do a video on the following: 1. The (1/5 scale?) Robby the Robot figures in the cases where you were talking about the lights. The ones in the smaller case (next to the life sized Robby) and the ones in the larger cases with all the different heads Robby had. Would love to know more about them, articulation? lights? etc. Where did the heads come from? 2. The 1/6-ish scale old movie robots at about 10:40 (the ones standing in front of the Big Max toy). 3. The Ideal Zeroids robots. 4. All the life sized classic film robots (Metropolis, Robbys, Gort, etc, manufacturers, if they are entirely static, etc). 5. Any vintage toy robots/toys of the 60s/70s era (Zeroids, etc).

Glad you liked the video. You will find I have done videos on all the things you have asked about. You can find them in my Robothut youtube channel. Or sometimes it is easier to find them by typing in the youtube search box "robothut Robby the robot" for example. Replace the Robby the robot with Silent running drones or Tobor the great, or time machine and so on. The videos should pop up that way also.

To the far right of the Radio-Controlled Space Warrior, I spotted my favorite robot when I was a kid. It began as a tin box, which then lifted up. A head with lighted eyes popped out of the top, legs appeared at the bottom, arms came out of the sides and a "TV screen" appeared on the front with a lenticular image of a guy steering the robot. I used to watch that for hours.

You tube gave me a copy right strike for a Beach boys song , I had to let them monetize the video for some one else or take down the video or let youtube edit out the song. @Robothut
@Robothut Жыл бұрын
I did a resin 3d printed version of the 1950's easel back robot. Because resin printers do let you control the infill a mount, even a hollow part will have a solid wall, a filament printer will make the wall any percentage of infill you want. So, the parts are lighter in filament and a lot heavier in resin. Now if it is a static robot then the weight does not matter, but for a mechanical robot it does.

I'd love to get a chance to visit, and i know i would make a B-Line straight for the Silent Running botz. Do you still have blueprints or plans for making them? I've been really disappointed in LED light tech. Manufacturers either have poor quality control or they cheap out on components. I haven't yet gotten an LED light that's worked well over the long haul. Several have simply died long before their predicted lifespan. But if they're well-made, they should last a really long time. On the subject of robots, how does Zobor pick up the cards? Is it magnetic? Did you build it? Thanks for running the band organ again. That's always enjoyable.

Did you make sure you have an Led driver and not the transformer “no pun intended” for the lighting? I know that incandescent lights usually have different stuff. I purchased an old displays2go case a few years back and tried to convert to LEDs but I had to get a proper LED driver for them.
@Robothut
@Robothut Жыл бұрын
The LED's I used were rated for automotive so 14.5 volts on the high side. They have diode bridges in them as well so the 12 volt AC transformers were right in spec. But I know they design all the new LED lights to fail, they run them over current to get more lumens and so they do not last forever, they need to sell more of them. So, I may just have to make some adjustments to the power supplies to run them under voltage / current so the new lamps last longer. On a side note I just got the new LED lights today from amazon, they are crap so got to send them back.
@PerpetualDarkMatter
@PerpetualDarkMatter Жыл бұрын
@@Robothut that’s lame man. You collection is very large but have you considered using LED strips? If I have a section fail I can usually redo a small section and solder a bit. It may be too expensive because of how many you may need
