+BuckeyeBushcraft L. There a lot of other restaurants at Tverskaya street with a Russian food. I myself prefer the one called "ToDaSe", especially their inexpensive business lunches for 299 roubles (~$3.50). Yes, and that's right in the center of Moscow! For this you will get a salad, soup, hot dish and drink. Every position have four choices. I mean, you can choose one of four salads, one of four soups, one of four hot dishes and one of four drinks. I usually prefer a salad of fresh vegetables, Moscow Borsch soup, meat in French as a hot dish and coffee or tea for drink. The only thing you have to remember business lunch for a very discounted price available from 11am to 5pm.

In the USA we'd probably call the municipal building City Hall. When I was in Moscow for the first time in September 1997 I stayed at the Hotel Minsk which was on Tverskaya Street. When I was in Moscow in February 2012 (very, very cold) I walked along Tverskaya and couldn't find the Hotel Minsk because it was torn down. BTW the Yeliseyev gastronom is a place I think your viewers would find interesting.

Hi Sergei! Thanks for showing us your beautiful country. I have got a question about Moscow urbanism and Russian's cities in general. I guess it is quite hot in summer, wouldn't you prefer to have more trees along those wide streets and avenues? I can see there is lot of room to plant them and they would give a more friendly and comfortable aspect to the beautiful city. On the other hand, I know Moscow has got many parks. I just came back from Moscow. The ballet was unbelievable Don Quixote, absolutely incredible. You have not lived if you have not seen the Royal Russian Ballet. The Museum of Cosmonauts was amazing, and the Art Museum (I forget the name but it started with a T) Tchailkovsky Museum perhaps was absolutely incredible. This is a city you have to visit. Expect about 50% of the cabbies to completely rip you off; otherwise I found the people to be very friendly and helpful when they could. I might add I speak no Russian.
@realrussiablog9 жыл бұрын
From what I've heard a cabbies are like that everywhere. However, good to hear you enjoyed Moscow overall.
@JohnnySemor9 жыл бұрын
The museums and the ballet; incredible I would return in a heart beat. Especially Siberia. If I offended you that was not my intent. I loved your country and want to return there. But some of your cabbies are corrupt and yes I`m sure it often happens the world over. I just accepted it as part of traveling. I wasn't offended, but people should expect it.

Thank you for your videos. I realize this video of Tverskaya Street is about 7 years old now and you have not updated your channel in about two years. No KZbin channel goes on forever, and the last two years (since Feb 2022) have been very difficult especially for Russians also. I have spent much of the last year studying Russian history, from the Kievan Rus through the breakup of the USSR, and up to recently also. Reading Russian classics, works of Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, history of the Romanovs, the Russian Revolution, many biographies about Stalin, Solzhenitsyn’s incredible labor of The Gulag Archipelago, Anne Applebaum, and others. I’m pleased that you have had such love for and pride in your country, and appreciation for the long, beautiful, complicated, tangled history of Russia. I truly weep for its great people, and hope that the great promise of freedom and democracy may be one day fully realized. I wish you, your country, and its people the very best.
