I can't believe people who watch The Walking Dead whine about the age gap between Daryl and Beth. This isn't a kids show, this is one of the shows that are full of realism. Grow the fuck up! 20 year age gaps between couples used to be perfectly normal, I don't understand when and why people decided to make it such a big deal. What about Abraham and Rosita then, hm? In the comics, they had an established relationship, and they are 20+ years apart. Oh wait, better... Dale and Andrea had a romantic relationship in the comics! He was in his 60's while she was in her 20's... 40 fucking year difference! However, they had one of the longest lasting and most loving relationships in the comics until Dale’s death. Hell, if you want examples of couples that are more than 20 years apart, just get me started and I'll write a damn book full it! Beth is 18, soon to be 19 (if not already). She's no longer a teenage girl. Nail it to your narrow, judgmental and hateful little minds! Not to mention her actress is 29. Genuine love has nothing to do with physical appearance! Andrea didn't care that Dale was an old man because she loved him for being there for her in the wake of Amy’s death and for always being considerate towards her. Please grow up and face reality. Just because it used to be normal, doesn't make it right. Many cultures married little girls or "child brides" and it was considered perfectly normal. In fact, many countries still have no laws against it. Again, it doesn't make it right. An age gap of over 20 years is wrong. Whoever is the older one in the relationship is just taking advantage of their younger, more naive partner. Plus, it really is "gross".

Couldn't agree more with you Emilija. I was so surprised when I came on here and started seeing so many people up in arms about the age gap. Who on earth cares? I personally have known several couples who are 15, 20, 25 years apart in age. They love each other, so what else matters? lol. You see a naive and emotional person, whereas I see a caring and gentle person who would compliment Daryl quite well. Simply a disagreement in the situation itself. When Norman described Daryl as a "wet animal you find in an alley and if that animal was taken cared enough it would start following you" so when Beth is with Daryl, he's calm and happy.. but as to what I know, it's been the happiest I've ever seen daryl like that on the show, but in Season 4 episode 13 beth was kidnapped and now that happiness is gone from daryl.. and seeing him run after that car showed how much he cared about her and wanted her back. But now she's gone and i'm pissed bout that happening, but most people must be anyways.

No no no. Daryl is not 28. The actor is 45 years old and the character Daryl is about 43. If you remember in season 2 when he talks to Andrea while looking for Sophia at night, he says that he got lost in the woods when he was about 10 years old and that Merle was in Juvie (juvenile detention center) when he got lost. To be in Juvie, Merle had to be under 18. So let's say that he was about 17 when Daryl got lost at 10 years old. So Merle is about 7 years older than Daryl. So by your logic, that would make Merle 35 years old. And do you really think Merle was 35? Hell no!! Merle was about 50 years old (probably older). Daryl is 7 years younger than him, so that would make Daryl at the least 43 years old. Waaaayyyy too old for 18 year old Beth.

Guys come on, i've seen a number of tv shows that have a couple with a huge age gap. Even a kid friendly tv show like Modern Family has that. And even in the real world they have couples like that. We shouldn't be surprised to have Daryl and Beth hook up, especially in The Walking Dead.

Just sort of adding my opinion. Daryl and Beth make sense. Beth is 18 or 19 in the show and is 28 in real life, plus it's the zombie apocalypse. I doubt people care about who is fucking who. Also, Daryl has had more physical contact with Beth then anybody else in the show. Yes, this includes Carol. He has hugged and touched Beth more than Carol. I don't care who ends up with who as long as it makes sense, I'm just saying that they makes sense about as much as Rick and Beth as well as Carl and Beth. Daryl and Beth have so far had a awkward relationship and Daryl has said in an interview that if he does happen to get a love interest he'd want things to be weird and not seem right. This couple has that package, people find it weird and they don't quite seem right but I believe that in the new episode with these two they make total sense. Not only the amount of physical touch but the amount of conversation they have and getting to know each other. Nobody knows Daryl as deeply as Beth now, they shared secrets no one else probably knows on the show about these two. Plus, in the scene where Beth asks him what made him change his mind about good people it is very CLEAR and OBVIOUS it was her that made him change his mind. He sees good in her that he doesn't see in other characters of the show, otherwise we would've seen him have this connection sooner. Now, I'm not bashing Daryl and Carol shippers but in my opinion I believe that they have a more brotherly and sisterly relationship and bond. (Now, I wonder how many dislikes I'll get for this.)

you know, I wasn´t sure about them, but when the scene came on, where Beth asks Daryl over and over what changed his mind on good people, he was so shy, and he looked straight into her eyes, and then she realized by saying "oh" like "oh, he loves me, he is doing everything for me"...and then later after her death, Daryl burnt himself with a cigarette and started crying, cause he missed her so badly...I don´t think he would cry like that for anyone else...and I personally think, that from her death he never recovered and that´s why he seems so lost in the newest seasons

I understan what you mean, don't worry. I 'm a Daryl/Beth shipper. I like them together cause I think their personalities can complete each other. Daryl can be very tough and even emotionless like at the beginning for survive but his mental sanity poossibly couldn't survive. Beth is in a someway naive, but she brings him that kind hearted touch and her vision. She grown up tooand she is stronger than before. I like the dynamics between them. And I thin in a post apo worl, the important thing is not the age, but the personnality and the heart, the trust you can have in a person. More than ever. Since when was 18 still a child? Like Norman said in his interview, Beth isn't a girl, shes a woman. Daryl is in his late 30's early 40's on the show, no way a character in their 50's can be that fit. I don't see how that's the 'paedophile' route considering both characters are of consenting age. You have to understand the extraordinary situation these people are placed in, the world is as far as they know over and they have just lost their closest friends and family. Its only natural to seek comfort in one another and heal. You can't pick and choose who you feel attracted to, & its not like they will ever be an item. I predict them sharing a small romantic moment, like a kiss, if anything, & maybe more awkward hand holding. If anything, Lori's affair with Shane was offensive lol.

I mean, since when has Daryl Dixon been in any hurry to get touchy-feely with anyone? And yet he's holding Beth's hand, carrying her, setting up a freaking breakfast for her... They care about each other and it's more than platonic. I mean, I don't think they'll ever be the PDA/mushy-gushy type, that's just not their characters, they're both too subtle and reserved, but Norman Reedus, Emily Kinney, some of the writers, and even Lauren Cohan have all alluded to the fact that Daryl may very well fall for Beth completely. He opened up and told her things he hasn't even told Rick, who's like a brother to him. Things he never even told Carol, who was close to him (though THEIR relationship seemed more sibling-ish). That means something, especially to a character like Daryl Dixon who does not open up to people.

Gnasheress I estimate Daryl's about 35. Even Merle didn't seem like he was 50 and I'd say he was a good ten years older than Daryl (or he looked like it anyway). Also, in terms of emotional maturity, Daryl's like 12-years-old, so it's not he's some creeper preying on Beth. He's like a socially awkward, almost-shy dude who I'm guessing does NOT know how to act around women. I mean, he said, "You're heavier than you look," when he carried Beth (and can we discuss how many times he touched her/carried her, when he is usually a VERY solitary dude who's not touchy-feely with people?!) and what sane man would ever say that to a woman? enough of the whining. it's pretty obvious, have you seen episode 1 of season 4? the last scenes of that episode has got something to do with the lovers. after they went to search for some meds, they went back all to prison,, there u see tyreese and karen, maggie and glenn "being afraid's what's kept us alive" moment,, then beth and daryl,, well to tell her that zach died,, again Zach died for a reason and there is a reason why Beth's boyrfriends have all died. In season 3,, jimmy died (as eaten alive by the walkers) because daryl told him to go to the hayloft.

Hahahaha I'd drink some coolers with Norman, but I can't say as I'm in love with him. I mean ya' can't really know someone based on a few interviews and a character he's played. It's funny, but I always say I tend toward gender male b/c even tho I'm a chick, I always identify with the guy during these ships. I totally related to Daryl during "Still" (except I'm not as ripped as Norman LOL), but emotionally I am very much of a loner, and Bethyl reminds me a lot of my husband and I when we were first sort of thrown together. So I guess you could say I am in love with DARYL b/c he reminds me of me. Does that sound narcissitic lol?
