I can only imagine how hard this must have felt for Negan, having to accept that everything he once built is gone. And that the Sanctuary and the Saviors are no more. In fact when he sits in the Sanctuaries old meeting room he's probably thinking-"Maybe I should've left Rick's group alone, Then maybe everything I built would still be here."

Nah later he actually admits that if he could have done it all again he would have just killed them all from the start lol He knows there was no way for them to coexist. Even if they didn’t fight from the beginning, Rick’s group would have undermined the power dynamic the Saviors relied on to function. Which would have made conflict inevitable. Also I find it funny you said “Maybe I should have left Rick’s group alone” when Rick’s group(mainly because of Rick alone) are the ones who attacked and killed 50 of Negan’s people in cold blood before the Saviors even knew that Rick’s group existed.

Fun fact: in the comics Lydia ends gets into a relationship with Carl, Negan's escape from Alexandria happens later than it does here and during the escape Negan actually goes into Rick's house while everyone is sleeping or so he thinks as he slightly opens a door revealed to be Carl's room and at the time Carl and Lydia are having sex. Negan seeing the sight just as quietly closes the door as he opened it only saying to himself atta boy

@J___Valentina_ No, there’s no time skip in the comics, Rick and Carl are both still around. The whisperer arc starts in the year and a half time skip from the beginning of the season.

⁠@@bradcarver8127Yeah because the only real reason to make the timeskip that long in the show was to age Judith up enough to fill Carl’s spot. Whereas in the comics Judith died in the prison as an infant and Carl survives the whole series to take Rick’s place.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT Back in Season 5 right before Rick and crew got to Alexandria Rick said We Are The Walking Dead That is when they had no roof or place to be Sometimes it seems that Rick and the gang were at their best when they were transit They were definitely stronger because of it Unlike the Governor and Negan who both had only numbers in their favour what could it mean meeting another group with the same survivor skill set as our people have Walls sometimes make you forget that there are real threats outside or give you a false sense of security How will our group handle this new threat when they are so scattered and apparently at odds Looking forward to it Time will tell Stay Tuned.

During Season 8 he essentially said "hey so you havent let me do any of the stunts I trained for, nor have you given me any substantial dialogue. You could totally kill me off if you want." He was admittedly one of THE WORST casting choices. He looks absolutely nothing like his more physically imposing comic counterpart. But I love Tom Payne. I just wish they gave him the Jesus of the Comics. He was NEVER going to be important with Daryl around.
