I just stayed there for 4 nights at the end of July 2023. Been to the island dozens of times previously but never overnight. It was exquisite. Definitely a different experience because of the vibe it provides when the day travelers leave (or before they arrive in the morning ). Bring your own bike and it's even better.

My wife & I spent the night on the Island in 1991. Watching the last ferry of the evening leave from the balcony of the Lilac Tree was a unique feeling.. as was being awaked to the clip-clop of horse hooves. Pure magic.

That is a great video. Enjoyed every moment. I hope you went to the pink pony for a drink after shooting this great video. I only visited mackinaw island during the day. How lucky are the people that enjoy the night on Main Street. Loved the no talking and just letttinxg environment do all the talking. Great job.

Sometimes I wish the USA wasn't ever so industrialists and required vehicles. I gotta drive 40 miles each way to get to work. I'd much rather work in the community where I live, and it's just a short 5-10-minute bike ride. No Vehicle Insurance, Lower Taxes from not having a vehicle, Less Gas cost, Less Maintenance and Repair. I'd love it if we had more of these towns that didn't have vehicles.
