I used to live in D.C. Growing up. I watched somebody get robbed of their shoes in broad daylight right in front of me at my porch step after getting out of school. That made me not wanna leave the house from that point on, I see it hasn't changed much, It used to be the Murder capital back then 30 years ago

Lol somebody just said he find Dc and Boston better for living than places like San Francisco, Portland,Seattle and Chicago. Those other cities are safe except for parts of Chicago. I rather live in Chicago than to live in Dc. It’s way bigger, more things to do and more good areas than bad. It’s not that much to do in Dc it’s small. Dc is not the place to raise a child unless u rich and can afford to live in the upper class neighborhoods. Most black people here are literally living in poverty. Also the crime is ridiculous. The city is small and already at 175 homicides. Majority of it happening in SE where it’s 90% poverty and certain areas in NE. Some parts of Ne is gentrified but it’s some parts thats jus as bad as SE. Uptown is gentrified the most but it still have it’s sketchy neighborhoods. Boston is safe but Dc no even with it being 50% gentrified. Majority of Chicago is beautiful. Also Seattle, Portland and SFO is safe. Dc is not the place to live forever that’s why a lot of people are moving. Even our suburbs which is Pg county Md have its hoods. Some parts is across the street from Dc and some areas 5 min away. Pg is majority black and is suppose to be the richest black county and Half of Pg county is the hood especially the areas that borders SE and NE Dc. Doesn’t look like it but don’t let the looks fool u. It jus look cleaner and nicer than Dc but it’s section 8 there as well.

The difference is there are Black hoods in d.c. that aren't the classic hood. A LOT of black folks in d.c. are highly educated and have great paying govt jobs. All black neighborhoods where everyone makes between 80 to a 100 grand a year... there are more middle class black folks in d.c. than anywhere else in the United States

That is not true u getting Dc mixed up with PG county MD which is outside of Dc. Some parts 5 min away, some parts across the street from Dc. Half of Pg county is rich or middle class the other half is the hood. Most blacks in Dc is from the hood living on section 8. It isn’t much blacks living in middle class in Dc. A lot of them are in Pg county since it’s cheaper

There are neighborhoods like that in Texas too. I've lived in a good number of hoods and it's the same thing, crack everywhere! Crack is still ruining lives with someone dealing it on every corner, but before crack it was heroin so what can you do? The world is one big trap! The only thing you can do is educate kids about drugs and hope for the best. 🤞

What? Dc is horrible and it’s not about looks. Chicago has some of the worst hoods and it looks nice. Dc is small and is already at 175 homicides. That isn’t horrible to u?
