In this vlog I attempted to walk the 84 mile of Hadrians wall path from Solway in Bowness to Wallsend in just 3 days. After heavy rain fall on night 1 I decided to call it a day at around 50 mile, Housesteads. With soaking wet feet and having walked 20 mile with them that way, I didn't want to carry on and risk further problems with them. This was a vey enjoyable hike and one I hope to get back to someday and complete. I still wanted to post this vlog even tho I didn't complete the trail as its important to show both sides of our efforts, the successes and the attempts that didn't go fully to plan.

We did it East to West (when you met us in that cafe over Newcastle way) had the same problem finding water on the west part of the walk too!!! All the pubs were closed or shut down along the route. One of the owners told us that its a seasonal walk and people only do it over a specific couple of months in the year - which weren't the ones we were on 😂

Walked this trail 2 years ago - some great memories by watching the video. BTW it's Bowness on Solway, not Solway in Bowness. To paraphrase the great Eric Morecombe - all the right words, but just in the wrong order. lol

West to East is the way to go, unless you want the rain in your face. We walked West to East, most walkers were coming towards us, we saw a lot of wet faces. we saw a lot of wet inappropriate footwear. As we started we saw a lot of people ending with blisters. we met a lot of people walking the wall for the second time, main reason they gave was they walked it too quick the first time and did not have time to explore the museums etc on the way, don't make it a race

West to East is definitely the best way to go. I only had 3 days free and have been wanting to give it a go for ages so thought I’d have a try. Will definitely be back to try again when I have a bit more time available. Thanks for watching

@@steve_adventures_ Well you certainly walked the most beautiful part of the walk. Another good reason to walk W to E is you end up in a bigger place with more options for onward travel, that and the fact there more pubs to celebrate in!. Look forward to seeing your video of the whole walk sometime.
