It’s good to be back. And in next gen. I’m not going to lie to you; I had the technical difficulties with this game on launch, so I figured It would be best is to wait it out until it was fully functional and not crashing on me every ten minutes. After the patch update that was for next gen specifically I was relieved and I didn’t crash once. And seeing that it’s getting the attention from a technical standpoint and thanks to Edgerunners. This is one helluva comeback. :)

There's a series of virtual walking tour videos on YT, that feature a videographer, walking through various parts of Tokyo and other Japanese locations, while holding a stabilized 4K camera at near eyeline height. Most take place in a day or night, rain free environment, but I remember a night time one that was filmed just after a rain storm. This reminds me so much of it. The lights reflecting off the wet pavement, the sound of his footsteps, the even more futuristic background, the passersby-some dressed differently than "normal". You did a really great job of providing a walking tour of yet another place I'd love to visit, this one decidedly much harder to get to, lol. Thanks for your effort. 👍

Man, I found this about 7 months ago. I love it. I live in a small town in the Pacific North West 90 miles or more from any significant metro activity, but I am a city guy at heart and I miss being near bigger cities. I miss hearing traffic, I miss hearing night life, I miss hearing the background buzz of things happening. Not that I don't love quite solitude from time to time, but my mood is of wanting for a big active city lately. This has been scratching that itch in a big way man. I love it. Thank you for this.

its really good and the world design is great. I wish non-gang member NPCs felt a bit more lively though. Especially in the rain. I recently watched some rain videos and I realized how often people laugh / run / scream when its raining. It usually triggers very excited / nervous responses in people. So its weird to have a game where it rains and people just zombie walk around. Seems like it would be easy to make NPCs yelp and giggle and run to cover when it rains but otherwise its a good representation of the feeling.

Hard work? The work they did to make the game *playable*? The work they did to add basic features commonly expected in modern open world games? The hard work they did too add less than a quarter of what was originally promised to us? The hard work they did that lost us the second DLC they had promised before launch? The hard work they did on the REDEngine, which is being discontinued after CyberPunk 2077? They haven't done shit to Cyberpunk 2077 but make it run better. You shouldn't blow the developers for doing the absolutely bare minimum. "Troubled launch" is one way to tip-toe around it... it was literally taken off Playstation's marketplace, something that has only happened a handful of times. The developers literally hid gameplay on older consoles when the game nearing release and certain influencers were getting early PC copies to test. They said the game ran "Suprisingly well" on Old gen; that is a direct quote. People need to stop congratulating developers for releasing shit games, and patching them over the course of 3 years. "Oh, Cyberpunk was literally unplayable for most people when it came out, but now its good! Yeah, Halo Infinite was universally criticized when it came out, but it's getting better! Man, Battlefield 2042 was a failure at launch, but it's fun now!" The developers don't need your sympathy or support. Cyberpunk 2077 broke multiple sales records through preorders alone; something that can't be refunded. That was their goal, they purposely marketed the game in a deceiving manner, and the developers were part of it, not just the "investors" and "higher ups". But guess what? They could lie all they want, literally piss in the mouths of their consumers, because they had already financially succeeded before the game even launched; and 3 years later suckers like you will forget about everything or be ignorant towards it, and praise them for ending their stream. "Oh, thank you CDPR, for the hard work it took to stop pissing in my mouth! It really is great to not have piss in my mouth anymore! Such an awesome experience, no longer having piss in my mouth!" - someone, who's already forgot that there was piss in their mouth. It doesn't matter if you weren't around for launch, and the hype before launch, but if you weren't, I want you to know that the game isn't anywhere close to what they had promised and showed us. The last almost 3 year of development have been 90% bug patches and fixes, NOT EXTRA CONTENT. People are so caught up on the fact that the game now even runs, that no one cares it's missing half the features it was supposed to contain. Even the story was supposed to be way more dynamic, yet the only mission that has any dynamic choices is literally the very first maelstrom mission during the "tutorial" phase. You know why? Because that's the mission they showed to everyone at E3. 99% of speech skill checks in Cyberpunk 2077 are just there to fluff up dialogue, rather than give branching narratives. The multiple endings don't even hinge what-so-ever on your dialogue choices, but rather 3 side quests; one's which, if you participate in them, you will always be able to pursue their endings, no matter how you approach the side quest. So yeah, keep praising the devs for the "hard work" they've put into the game. But don't act surprised when a majority of the major triple A titles that are released in a year are poorly made and focus primarily on marketing. Because you're sitting here praising them for it, for doing the absolute bare minimum. Go ahead and say something like "Too long didn't read lawl" or "you're so mad XD", prove my point that you're a mindless consumer. Because to CDPR, and every other studio that operates in the same manner they do, this bullshit "launch now make it "good" over the span of multiple years", that's all you are. A mindless consumer, who can be easily manipulated into either buying games outright, or eventually forgiving studio's for no good reason, and then buying their games. Either way doesn't matter to them, because you're buying their game, and riding their dick while you're at it. You and people like you are genuinely the reason the video games industry and been in such a rutt, and unable to climb out. It's fine if you enjoy playing Cyberpunk 2077, that's you're own personal opinion based on your subjective reality. But the Studio's actions before and after releasing the game are not subjective; they are definitive, and deserve absolutely zero praise.
@sieman78 Жыл бұрын
@@SophiaBadger You sure have a lot of vitriol for a stranger that did nothing but express their appreciation for the work that went into the game. Highly odd for someone who calls strangers mindless to then go on a presumptuous rant as if you're opinion is more valid than their appreciation. Regardless of what you think of the gaming industry there are artists, animators, art directors, character designers etc that actually work their asses off despite what the higher ups may do to ruin a launch, and despite people like yourself who think they shouldn't be recognized for their work.

Night City is the most magnificent open-world map ever created; the detail and verisimilitude are completely unprecedented. Every single time I play I find new nooks and crannies. It's one of those rare games where exploration is rewarding in itself. Even long after finishing the story I fire up an old save and roam the streets looking for gigs, cyberpsychos, or simply interesting places - and it _never_ gets old. Sure, I admit some more world interactivity and a few more minigames would enhance the experience, but it's phenomenal as-is, and I have no doubt that its sequel will be significantly more awe-inspiring. Now all we need is a bloody new Deus Ex game! At least finish Adam Jensen's story!!! PLEASE!!! 😅

Great video! So relaxing and immersive. A side conversation I guess, but I really wish AI would be already something more common and embedded into game systems. We are reaching this point where the cognitive dissonance created by having amazing realistic graphics in these worlds contrasting so much with having very little interactive options with them (besides shooting and climbing stuff..) is becoming really big and glaring. I wish we could have conversations with each NPC, lay low or go for some meals with some characters, have some random casual events where NPCs need our help with something (not necessarily with violence involved). An AI "engine" can create/manage these kind of events. The potential for immersion with such systems is so big. Really hope developers will recognise that potential and keep evolving such tech.
@user-dj9iu2et3r Жыл бұрын
That’s kinda what people hoped this game Would be (whether those expectations were warranted or not). I think the lack of interactivity in the world and with its characters is 2077’s biggest drawback.
@Daniel__Nobre Жыл бұрын
@@user-dj9iu2et3r yeah, I think thee hype was too high in that sense (CDProjekt is to blame as well for that obviously, given that they actually lied about certain features). I think building such a graphically amazing and complex game is already really demanding in terms of resources, let alone creating and developing multiple emergent systems that interact with each other. It would be good if the marketing bullshit (essentially trying to show hiper realistic graphics) would be put on the side sometimes by AAA devs so they could put some focus as well on this systems, like more experimental AI focused stuff and whatnot. But we know that is not happening so soon as everyone still seems to chase the “looks so real” aspect, instead of the “feels so real”.
@josecisneros5516 Жыл бұрын
I hope they do this with the sequel. I've seen a Skyrim mod that uses an AI that allows the player to have a full on conversation with the NPC I think if this technology can be applied to future games (hoping for the Cyberpunk sequel) it'll add 1000 points to immersion
@Daniel__Nobre Жыл бұрын
