My wife and I watched the video from beginning to end with our morning tea and coffee. Time well spent. We feel like we've been there. Even if we went to Tokyo, what are the chances of visiting this wonderfully peaceful and pleasant neighbourhood? The cherry blossoms are coming out, the streets and sidewalks are clean, we did not see any graffiti, we did see that Japanese culture has fully embraced vending machines, bicycles are accommodated and used by people of all ages, air conditioning is in every building, hanging racks for drying laundry are a built-in feature of most residences (electrical energy saving), and people are thoughtful to wear masks if they have a cold and/or protect themselves if they have allergies (this should be a global practice). Thank you for sharing and hello from Vancouver, BC, Canada. :)

Japanese people love and respect their homeland. They don't deface or violate their neighborhoods like in America or Europe. So you won't see trash or graffiti on the streets. They keep their country clean and organized.

well i know thats old but just saying that the japanese people dont wear the mask bc of some allergies. they wear it because of the smog from the cars
@euomu6 жыл бұрын
Shenob lol of course not, dude. You’re mistaking Japan for China. Japanese people wear masks when they have a cold and don’t want to spread their germs. To some people it just feels safe, some girls wear them because they don’t want to bother too much with make-up

I love walking around Tokyo, especially in residential areas like Setagaya and Suginami. Even in winter, as long as the day is sunny, it makes me relaxing. I love cityscapes of Japan, where relatively old buildings and streets are well maintained and kept clean, as well as the country side where rice fields are beautifully organized. I recommend people from other countries walk around 'normal' places, not only tourist sites or busy areas, when you come vist Japan! Thanks for sharing a nice video!

Nice video! I watch it from beginning to end. Many streets are almost empty, with so few pedestrians and so little traffic, so quiet, so clean and easy. It must be a great pleasure to take a leisure walk on these streets in such a warm spring day. Local people hang their bed coverings in the sunshine. Senior people are playing gate ball. Young parents are playing with their kids in the park, waiting in line for riding the rail-slider. Few high buildings, no skyscrapers. I enjoy your filming very much.

I notice they have a completely different sense of personal space. A lot of putting people and vehicles in what seem to be unnecessarily tight spaces and passages. Especially since everyone instinctually goes to the left, and frequently the camera person stays on the right. But the folks seem pretty chill about it.

@Avataan9 жыл бұрын
Madhops 107 That's weird. Here in sweden ona normal weekday the streets are empty between 8am-4pm. Cause that's when everyone is at work or school. Only people who are unemployed or have a day off can be seen. :p
@saxenas9 жыл бұрын
that does make sense lol. it's weird but Boston streets r always crowded no matter the time.
@motormusique9 жыл бұрын
+Madhops 107 I think it all comes down to Tokyo's great public transportation system. People get around by train and walk, and when I was there I noticed even in busy areas, most cars were taxis or delivery vans. In North America we are way too dependent on cars which causes congestion, and it is not an efficient way of moving a lot of people around.
