Hi! I have one more question, I know you answered my other question on your other video now I’m watching all of them 🤪 do you /trainers only use ecollar so you don’t have the need for prong collar or is it sort of a combination that you’ve done depending on what your training on? For example, I’m guessing the off leash training you would need a ecollar but if a dog has a problem with pulling would a prong be better? I’m so sorry I’m just learning so much!

I am so glad you’re binge watching and learning from my videos 😍 Another great question you have! You definitely don’t need the ecollar to teach your dog to walk nicely on the leash. Prong collar is enough BUT the ecollar gives you even more support and really helps teach the dog to be more engaged with you but to start, I’d work with just the prong collar and see how your pups do. Take them out, start walking, turn to the right suddenly, then turn left, make different sudden movements, you will see the dogs start to pay more attention to you and start to follow you. Always make sure also if you need to correct for anything with the prong, pop... so quick wrist flick, don’t apply constant pressure on the prong, or pull, use quick pops to get their attention. Hope this helps !!! 😀

Also I forgot to add, for your whippets, you should not get a prong any bigger then 2.25, check out herm sprenger prongs. I believe you can get them on Amazon.

If you had lost your voice or didn't have your collar controller on you do you have a hand cue heel command apologies if it looks like I am spamming your channel its just that I am so passionate about training despite the fact that I in fact am a wheelchair user (birth condition) helped a friend train a beautiful shepherd several years ago

So how did you do the ecollar training?
@worldofdifferencek96363 жыл бұрын
I would highly recommend working with a trainer if you are brand new to it. There is also a great book you could read by Larry Krohn, it's called "Everything you need to know about e collar training". It's sold on Amazon. Start with the book, watch some trainers online, explaining how they use it, then hire a trainer to show you and go from there. It's an incredible tool, but you don't want to use it incorrectly.

what do you do when another dog is being walked on the same sidewalk
@worldofdifferencek96363 жыл бұрын
Great Question! I always give space and will put my self between the other dog and Leela. If you can, just hop on to the grass or road to let the dog pass, if it's a tight squeeze, put your dog on the side of you where you are between both dogs.

ECollar is forbidden by law in most countries in Europe and is outlawed in Germany, where the Doberman comes from. If you get caught you pay a fine up to 25.000 $. We have very strict animal protection laws. Training a Doberman to heel without Ecollar is mostly time consuming, frustrating sometimes but pet friendly. Don't want to offend you, just share some information.

A lot of controversy and overall lack of understanding of the tool. I’m glad I live in North America and am able to use the tool so my dog can live a good life with a lot of freedom.
