Laura, what a lovely, positive (and supremely fit) human being you are. This was a great vlog. I've driven from Bilboa to Ondres in France on a few occassions, having ferried from Ireland and that is a mountaineous drive. I picked up my camino passports in St.Jean Pied De Porte only a few weeks back to hang on my wall as a motivation to start doing parts of the camino in 2025. The Camino Frances seems too crowded for me and my 'new' knee replacement and you have opened my eyes to Camino del Norte. Thank you for a terriffic record. You made it look so enjoyable. Thank You.

I admire you. I would have given up when facing my first hill! I've been to both Bilbao and San Sebastian, but I cheated and took the bus in between. Now, watching this, I realized what I've missed! Will definitely check out those lovely beaches and vineyards next time I'm down there...but by car 😉

fav so far, ...all of your episodes are great. a challenging trek for sure. now another place on my list, you guys must be bushed! there are some great 'caminos' all over oregon, many are easily reached from portland. i'll try to get my list of my 'secret' lol faves sorted and sent. thanks again for sharing. btw frank gehry, bilbao thumbnail on last vid shows his genious: the building looks like boat hulls, dry docked.

Thank you so much Laura for taking us along. I have thought about doing this many times, the hills scare me a little. It seems pretty well signed. Did you have hiking boots on? Take care, Tara.
@laura-bronner Жыл бұрын
It is incredibly well signposted. I downloaded maps from Alltrails and I never needed to use them because there are yellow arrows constantly. We didn't wear hiking boots, just sneakers which was fine most of the time because so much of the trail is road or packed-down trail. If I did it again I would use some trail sneakers that were perhaps a little bit more waterproof.

Hi I am just beginning to explore the Norte. I have done 5 other Caminos. I was curious as to why you would not go back and walk the Bilbao-Santiago stretch. Getting to Santiago is such a thrill (been 3 times) and definitely not "anticlimactic". Enjoy your caminos!!!!

Loved this Laura. I'm planning to do a Camino in the future, I have my eyes on the Camino Portuguese coastal trail at the moment. Next year I'm planning to do some of the vVa Francigena through Tuscany. I'll be doing it solo too... excited 😄

How was the famous town of Guernica? I would love to go there. Did it look like the painting? haha!
@laura-bronner Жыл бұрын
There is a small replica of the painting - it was SUCH a beautiful town, one I would like to return to and spend some more time. It had some fantastic pintxos bars as well.
