Happy holidays Kevan! Nice to see my dock. Can't wait to get down there. FYI, Derek and Trish's Beneteau is a First 456... Ours (Grace) is a First 435. Our keel is listed at 7 foot 8, probably more like 8 feet and yes, it's touched bottom at Mazatlan...stuck in the mud.... See you around New Year's pal! Great video.

Thank you Charles, you have a great Xmas and I will see you in the new year . Must admit I thought the boats were identical , obviously not . From the views so far I guess people like looking at boats in the dock . 😂

Hey Kevan, very interesting video. Not a boat owner, just a KZbin dreamer. But I found this informative. For one, I’ve never seen sun protection like I have on your video. Omg, that island packet had the entire toe rail covered. Should I assume everyone there are lifers and know how to protect their investment in Mexico? I get the impression the marina is filled with very experienced sailors. Very interesting post…and I love no commercials! Cheers to you Kevan. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!🎉

Yes , keeping the sun off the boat is a must and it’s winter now !! Big shade covers are used during the summer . It reduces the heat inside the boat by 5-8 degrees . Most boats in the marina are from Canada and the US so I would say they are pretty experienced . Slips are at a premium here , almost impossible to get especially after the damage from the recent hurricane

I think when you get your first Sailrite, you feel obligated to get your money’s worth by making everything you can.

You wouldn’t believe how accurate you are , you can tell when a boat has a sail rite on board 😂

Thank you for sharing this video. I saw the one you did in Matzatlan and is was great also. I have a question I hope you wouldn't mind fielding. I see some sailing videos whereas they run into trees and branches and debris in the water. Are you or anyone you cruise with concerned with heavily damaging your rudders ? I don't think you have a skeg hung rudder and wondering if that's even a concern. Thank you.

This generally happens at the mouth of large rivers where debris , trees are washed out to sea . Personally I have never experienced this , it tends to happen in the Pacific north west , Not many trees down in Mexico , there are palms tress but they get easily waterlogged and sunk .

Hey Kevan, you mentioned that you saw a boat “Glisten” in Puerto Escondido, is there a marina or a dock? Because I can’t seem to find any over here. I’m referring to Puerto Escondido in Oaxaca. Thanks a lot! Merry Christmas and happy holidays.
